There's been some bad pitches in Australia in recent times but not by design.

England and India are the worst in the world when it comes to making pitches to order.

I thought Howzat was very well done and well received (about WSC featuring Tony Greig) so it's a shame to hear about this 9 film on Warne especially given how insensitive the timing of its announcement was.

England and India are the worst in the world when it comes to making pitches to order.

The ICC should be in charge of monitoring how pitches are prepared. It should be completely independent with no contact between the curators and home team. What you get is what you get and it must offer an even contest between bat and ball

Agree it’s a rubbish deck, for the quicks at least. For the spinners there’s plenty there, England just shot themselves in the foot by picking a rubbish one.

Anyways what the pitch is doing now is not what it will be doing on day 5. Only weather brings the draw into this.

For all the talk of leaving out Starc, perhaps not picking a second spinner on such a dry pitch might turn out to be the key. That said, I'm not even sure India would have turned up to this test preparing to play two spinners.
