Fremantle's half back-line

HB: Stephen Hill, Garrick Ibbotson, Cameron Sutcliffe

That's a relatively small half backs. Considering Roughead, Hale, McEvoy and Schoenmakers will spend time up forward and it looks like Fremantle could be one key defender short for this game. Surprised they didn't play Silvagni.
Agree but the real battle will be in the middle. If we win that this match will be one sided very soon...(our side...)

I hope their purple sausages give em all food poisoning fair go they are a bunch and a half in Perth.. Urgh we got to win this game... I couldn't deal with an all WA grand final.. Who would watch anyway?
i know right? Most other places this sort of frenzied guff is reserved for your team when they make a grand final. I suppose it is their grand final.

Happy with going in unchanged and not risking Gunners

24 and no rain predicted tomorrow should be good conditions for footy

I feel in a lot of games this year we've purposely played catch up believing we could reel teams in with a 5-10 minute burst and break them without having to put in much effort for the majority of the gam, hasn't always gone to plan. I think there have been some games where we have set ourselves to put opponents in a hole early such as the Freo game and Crows last week.

I believe we will try that with Freo again on Friday. Ross will be expecting it as he knows if we crack them early its hard for them to score and lock down, expect first quarter to be pretty intense, will be interesting if we are still able to push them hard early and open them up

It's safe to say if Rough fires Hawks win! I'd rather see Rough kick 5 goals than gather 30 possessions..
It will require more than one player firing for us to win.

Just saying.

Will be in transit at Singapore airport during the game - anywhere that plays AFL in there?
There's a few tvs around with sport on, doubt the footy will be on.

There's free WiFi though, so your sure bet is to get an international AFL pass and stream it!

I think it was 2013 we did that. Broke teams early. Most would give up and we'd coast to a nice 8-10 goal win while others would fight and we'd simply do enough to keep them at arms length until late in quarters where we'd kick a few quick ones. The rope a dope. Was very effective for us that year outside of Geelong and Richmond games.

Lets hope the resut isnt decided by which teams small forwards can flop the hardest.

Freo have one of the best exponents going around, wolters.
Still laughing at him having a go at Thomas earlier this year for duckinh, acting all tough like. Only to duck himself not five minutes later. campaigner.

Another myth that seems to be perpetrating itself around the media / on the boards is that Fremantle smashed us in round 21, 2014

From memory we had more scoring shots, squared clearances but got smashed in inside 50's

We dearly missed Roughead that day, played an under strength Gunston and had a 6 day break to a Cats clash the following Saturday Night (in 28 degree heat, thanks AFL :drunk: )

To be honest I don't understand why people need to build Fremantle up...they are the minor premier, playing at home after a rest, playing against their nemisis from 2013

i have my doubts about the Hawks this year, we see them play really good footy but i think too often when the heat has really been applied by opposition teams they come undone, i dont really think freo are that great but i do think they will apply pressure, it will be nothing like the Crows game where you were allowed to cut through the defence with short passes, Ross Lyon isnt silly and i dont think he will allow any Hawks player to be free for the short pass.
The only pressure that matters is scoreboard pressure - tackle all you want, we'll just tackle back & win by 12 points.

You (poort) applied scoreboard pressure early in the year & held on.
Scum did the same - jumped us on the scoreboard then hung on.
Shitme did the same.
We got away from GWS twice (from memory) but they kept kicking goals - no way was their's physical pressure (other than Mumford).
Even Ninthmond jumped us by 3 goals in the first then 3 goals in the 3rd.
Wet Coke won the 2nd quarter by 33 points & the game by 32.

Tackling us all day will just result in sweeter purple tears as they simply can't score. Unless they restrict us whilst scoring themselves, I'll be a happy supporter at Hawthorn.
