Is Jadeja in this squad? He's a far better (read: tougher) batsman than Ashwin and probably just as likely to succeed with the ball here. Pant is a far better batsman than Saha. They're not keeping on a cobra dustbowl with balls bursting like land mines all over the place. His keeping isn't going to make THAT much of a difference.

I wonder how often in Test cricket it's the tail's performances with the bat that is the difference between 2 sides in a series. Especially if they're relatively evenly matched (though thats a bit harder to measure). That would've been very disheartening from an Indian fans perspective

From 3/188 to 244 all out, which was mainly self-inflicted is rather startling.

Will have their work cut out for them to win the game from here. If Australia score more than 400, it will be very hard for them.

The pitch has quickened up which means the nicks will carry - but also the runs should flow as well.

Pretty often I’d say, the tail was the difference in the last Ashes especially. Siddle in the first test. The last wicket at Headingley.

That shot by Saha is Pant like and Pant would likely drop a few chances, no way Jadeja is a better Test bowler than Ashwin, he is a part time spinner.
