If his bowling is adequate, provides a point of difference. Otherwise, why take on tour? I guess he is only missing out on Perth club cricket, not shield cricket.
Experience around the team on an overseas tour, training etc.

He looks to have plenty of potential, my question is, bowling wise, what has he shown?

Listen, if he gets selected I’ll cheer him on rabidly.

Yeah i am torn on it, i don't think it is a smart selection or one i feel great about.

However i am excited for his talent and the fan in me wants to see him play.

Mostly you missed Davis' first spell here because 9 insisted on showing A sodding Current Affair.
Welcome back to our Adelaide viewers...

Joining the action live to see Kaluwitharana walking off, dismissed for a blazing half century

Damn!

But we always got Hashan Tillakaratne's full innings of scratching around

I wanted Head to open all summer but now we’ve got Konstas.
He just came into an old side and Khawaja who is the oldest is the most out of form. Why aren’t they dropping him or moving him down the order?
Yup, pretty much. Ussie could easily shuffle down.

Also, Head to opener in Asian conditions isn’t necessarily as good as the stats say (for sure, it’s better than he was doing in the middle order though).

Surely should be Mcsweeney ahead of Inglis? Seems like a wasted opportunity, Mcsweeney is likely to be our future test no.3 or 4 while Inglis conceivably might not even be next in line for the keeping spot in a few years once Carey is done.

Inglis is a fantastic player of spin so if they go that way it’s understandable

To be honest why would we? I’m sure his time will come but his place on this tour was always educational

Only thing I would say is do we get a better chance than this tour to plan for the future? Already qualified for WTC. If he wasn’t going to play why tour him? There’s Shield matches coming up

Inglis is clearly next in line for Carey's spot

He has already taken his white ball spot

Inglis is 4 years younger

I’m more annoyed we are going to play 3 number 11’s there’s zero batting depth and you need it here.
Cummins has saved many tests for us over the last few years, kuhneman injured opened up Connolly having that chance.

Really hope they haven't changed their mind on this but I get if they have.

For me it means they are happier with Head trying to bash 30 to 60 at the top of the order than Konstas in Sri Lankan conditions. That approach will be hit or massive fail with either player in my book.
