We clearly had more than enough runs, and there have been numerous rain delays.

We lost 10 mins today that’s it- we catch it up tomorrow

Boy o boy.

We've been good.

We're working out Asian conditions.

We've got three dangerous spinners. Some batters whose footwork against spin is outstanding. I like Head as an opening thrasher. Green will make us better too as he was beginning to look good there the last couple of tours. A few youngsters on tour who will be developing their games and getting ready for the future.

Fairly simple. Because they don't personally like them and or don't really understand the game or especially don't understand test cricket in Asia.
Hats off to the players, selectors and coaches. Just so well prepared for the conditions. Great plans really well executed.

Inglis going on the Voges run.
Even Mike Hussey, since he started at 29 as well.

Crazy how many Australians have missed out on great careers due to the depth of years pass.

But the depth isn't that strong. Not like the 1990s through to the early to mid 2000s. The batting depth (and bowling depth too) was insanely strong.

You had guys averaging 40+ in First-Class cricket and couldn't get a game for Australia.

Australia 401-3 when Smith fell.
Sri Lanka 30-3.

Crazy contrast between the two sides
Can't underestimate the mental impact of being 650 down. Plays havoc with the mind knowing you can ton up and barely make a dent in the total.

I never pay attention to keepers. How does his keeping compare to Carey's?
Prior to Carey making his way in to the national setup I think Inglis was a better keeper, but Carey's has certainly gone to a much higher level since while Inglis's has stayed at a similar level. Inglis is still a very good keeper but a level below Carey right now imo.

keepings fine

Carey 37 matches 55 innings 1 ton

Inglis 1 match 1 innings 1 ton

That’s probably fair. I wouldn’t be surprised if they are at the same level but Carey has been as good as any keeper in Test cricket since he came in, the job he did in India (with the gloves, not the bat) was spectacular.

When he was just in the limited overs national sides and thus wasn’t getting to play games at Shield level, Carey’s keeping really dropped off. Was worried it wasn’t going to be Test standard. As soon as he got the Test gig he has been fantastic, has clearly put in the work.

Hard to tell as he’s away playing white ball a lot and thus hardly keeping in Shield. Carey has improved his glovework significantly over the last let’s say 2 years. Purely on the eye test, Inglis a slightly better bat and Carey a slightly better keeper
