JH has not had his best year and partly due to injuries but he is a big quality inside bull and something we have missed and an area Richmond have been dominated in for a long while.

He is a very important player going foward that will be well worth the trade

He simply wasn’t putting any or enough defensive pressure in the first half and he has a turning circle akin to Mumford .
He either couldn’t keep up and didn’t want to chase . He Taranto and Cotchin are not a great mix in the midfield at the same time .
No coincidental that he had less midfield time in the 3rd and we turned the game around , nor that he was more influential in the last when the speed had gone out of the game .

Feel like Hopper lacks the clean fast hands pick up sort of thing. Ball comes to him and ricochets off his shins sometimes. If he could pick em up and dish em off he would be a gun. 5 centre clearances isnt too shabby anyways

Agreed, Taranto and Hopper are just too slow. I would say Cotchin is faster and applies more pressure than them

Only 3 players in the league apply more pressure than Taranto.

Cotchin, Taranto and Hopper can't all play midfield at the same time but that obviously won't be an issue next season.

He was ordinary in the first half. Really lifted once the rain tumbled down and Sydney dropped off.
Richmond's pressure rating was through the roof in the second half, that's why we won.

AND we STRUGGLED in the rain all year EARLY this year so rain falling was NOT an ADVANTAGE to US!!!!!!

To use that as an excuse for the Swans is silly.

If it stayed DRY doggies game ,second half ,we would have won.

THE RAIN STOPPED US WINNING!!!!!!!!!!

Taken Hopper some time to adjust and I still think he has some way to go but he isn't a plodder contrary to how some posters here think. Disposal wise, can be sloppy but that was something we knew when we traded for him, reckon it will improve but he is an inside mid so he isn't going to be high DE % anyway.

Getting a long injury also didn't help him settle, I still think he will be a very important player for us once Cotchin retires at years end.

I agree smasha and the weather helped as I said bc it became a slogfest. Our plodders with bigger bodies plucked their feathers. We’ve become under minibus a better wet weather side, but from a small sample pool.
Dogs game we had different cattle and coach so a poor example.
