Reckon he'd make a solid KPD. Played one vfl game in defence this year where he absolutely dominated.

From my research:It's not unreasonable one of our KPFs will cement a spot in our best 22 this year. JR8 was drafted pick 13 and debuted round 9 in his first season, then stayed in the senior team.
Fair enough. I'd be very happy if one of our newly recruited KPFs played 9 games in their first year. From my research:
JR8 was dropped the very next week after his debut and didn't return until R14.
He started 2008 in the 2's.
He was dropped again in R8 2009 before finally cementing himself in the team.
Koschitzke is depth at best but can play a role while we develop the KPF's properly without throwing them out against seasoned AFL players if not ready.
Armstrong will get games early I reckon, he'll start as that mid-forward connector chf imo. Not expecting bags but you never know, he always finds a way to kick them.Fair enough. I'd be very happy if one of our newly recruited KPFs played 9 games in their first year.
In my overexcited mind I had all the draftees playing from R1. Then I did that research to check my memory that JR8 and Rance played from early in their first seasons and after that my expectations lowered.Fair enough. Even mids take time to build a tank for AFL. Dusty played round 1 in his first year but didn't spend much time in midfield. It took him a couple of years to build his tank.In my overexcited mind I had all the draftees playing from R1. Although a KPD Rance started in the 3's and cemented himself in the 2's by the end of the season. Debuted in R2 the next season and was dropped again later on that year.
I just did more research and players like Lynch, King?, JUH, Sam Darcy, Cadman all played from R1 in their first season.
F**k it, they're all back in again, get them all to 50 games asap....haha.
Failed as a KPD at the Hawks and they were desperate for one.Reckon he'd make a solid KPD. Played one vfl game in defence this year where he absolutely dominated.
I'm aware.Failed as a KPD at the Hawks and they were desperate for one.
He also played KPD when at the Hawks mostly same old same old.Reckon he'd make a solid KPD. Played one vfl game in defence this year where he absolutely dominated.

Would you play him him in front of any of the following if all are fit in defense.
Balta, Blight, Gibcus, Trainor and even Miller.
The outlook for the club over the next two or three seasons just has to be a priority on youth.
The only way Koschitzke should get a look in in front of our youth is if he improves significantly and im not holding my breath on that one.
Imo the only valid reason to play him is his age 24 and the fact he has 62 games of experience. If Lynch has another injury riddled season then we will need an experienced key forward to shoulder the load.
Going by last year i would guess he and Lynch will start the year in tandem with one of the kids playing third tall.
I have little faith that Yze will embrace a total youth driven policy.
Personally i like the idea of Lynch then two talls possibly Fawcett who has some real size now going by reports and maybe Bauer third tall or Sims fwd/ruck.
Only played KPD in his first couple of years at the Hawks, and even then was thrown forward at times. First couple of years were also heavily interrupted by injuries. The Hawks then moved him forward out of necessity at the beginning of his third year, and kept him there.Failed as a KPD at the Hawks and they were desperate for one.
I think there is room on the list for him as a tall who we can use as a jumping bag
Sims , Trainor , Armstrong , Fawcett , Lynch , Gibcus , Miller , Blight , Lefau , Gray , Balta
can all see the benefit of having Kosi on the list
Absolutely agreeSims - Unproven
Trainor - Unproven
Armstrong - Unproven
Fawcett - Unproven
Lynch - Possibly final year
Gibcus - Quality but concerns over body
Miller - Similar in ability to move around the ground but 100% not a forward
Blight - Unproven
Lefau - Older, coming off second ACL
Gray - Unproven
Balta - Quality
Our list looks 'healthy' because so many guys are new and highly rated but we don't know how they are going to go. If they don't exceed what Kosi currently offers then he may well remain on the list.
Absolutely agree
Seems a few are putting massive expectations on our first year talls who historically don’t tend to play a huge amount of AFL level footy and generally don’t really become dependable contributors until the 3rd or 4th season
Look at guys like JHU and Darcy who are both extremely talented talls
Kozi isn’t necessarily our future but we still need to put out 22 players every week and Kozi will fill that stop gap nicely for now
Think it’s probably more the 2026 season personally or even 2027If this guy's best 22 by the end of 2025 then we have really ****ed up with our picks in the 2024 draft.

Kosi's got till 2026 too. He's OK as back ruck & kicks near on a goal a game. I doubt he plays much AFL now. But Gray be out the door first. Blight next. Gunna take Blight to turn into Uncle Malcolm to make it.Sims - Unproven

Fawcett? Miracle 2.
witnessed by the richmond faithful.
Saint Blair of punt road.

Kosi will play KPD and is much better then miller and youngIn a year or 2
The expectation for the team is only development
I really cannot see what Kosi offers both long term or short term for Richmond
Long term he will be delisted or traded
Short term what is better having a guy that offers little v a Kid that offers little but get development games into them
Lefau & Gray would be better options in that mature role
No he is notKosi will play KPD and is much better then miller and young
