Draft Review 2008 - Re-do the 2008 draft

If you don't have Hannebery in your top 3 you simply have no idea.

Arguably he's achieved the most of any player from the draft to date, his courage and running ability is already well recognised around the league, he has captain written all over him and the season after he stepped up and took centre stage on GF day, he pulls out his best season to date.

Silky skills are overrated - give me character and guts every day of the week.

His off field behaviour - the papers might not write about it but the club would know - and arrogance will keep him from being captain.

I've just heard from people who've met him that he rates himself very highly. And he's well known for "enjoying the Sydney night life". I think he and Buddy will get along just fine.

So in other words you have jack all to go off of then

My cousins have met him in person at the fan day and said he was the nicest bloke they've ever talked too. Some of the other blokes were a little over the whole fan day thing while they were there, but Hanneberry was in amongst it and loving being able to spend time with everyone.

I've heard similiar stories to cotter101 as well.

I admit, between the BDO Van incident and the eggs, he has a bit of a record, but I'd still take him top 3 in this drfat or any other, and thats the argument here

From the sounds of it I'm going off exactly as much as you are: anecdotes.

He is absolutely a very good player, no questioning that, and he's not so poorly behaved that he's a liability like Dustin Martin or such an unpleasant character that people hate being on the same team as him or anything; he's just probably not captain material as someone else suggested.

I would look at the people that speak this rubbish after a 30 second meeting. They would have a bigger question mark on their character than Hannebery.

It is more often than not tall poppy syndrome and jealousy that people make stupid comments about someone they don't know. Only a fool would believe and then post this rubbish.

21.Fremantle: Bruest
22.PA: Walters
23.Essendon: Watts
24.Fremantle: Anthony
25.Brisbane: Blair
26.Richmond: Banfield
27.NM: Roughead
28.Sydney: Hunt
29.St Kilda: De Boer
30.WB: Savage

I think Hurley is over rated and has been very disappointing but he should make it into the top 30.

not to sound rude or anything but why is everyone over rating Motlop? He played had a handful of good games this year and the previous years he was crap. I'd have Redden clearly ahead of him who has been performing well for 3 years straight.

Yeah I've been wondering about that too. I would have thought there are at least 10 or so ahead of him. Wondering if I am missing something with him

I suppose saying that he has a bad attitude was out of line, but his weekend activities are well known. They may not be an indictment on his personality, however someone who partakes in the activities in that he does is probably not a great role model for younger players.

Have you seen him or is your info from your next door neighbours, niece who thought she may or may not have seen someone that may or may not have been Hanners partying hard in Kings Cross?

I haven't subjected him to a drug test or stumbled upon him downing pingers on the street if that's what you're asking. I've simply heard from multiple people about it. It's possible they're lying. I doubt that though. You don't need to believe me. I'm sure the club knows what's going on, whatever that is, and I think they'll choose someone Luke Parker to take over the captaincy rather than Hannebery. No need to get in such a huff - this was just a tangential point.

My kids are looking forward to Santa climbing down the chimney in 23 day’s time and delivering their Christmas presents. Multiple people have told my kids that this will happen if they are good. It’s possible they are lying.

Sometimes made up things are easy to believe because it sounds really exciting and people/kids are gullible.
