Re: Grand Final tickets - reminder

hmmm doesn't sound all that hopeful..

So basically if you miss out on the ballot, there's no other alternative but to try and scam a ticket somehow.

It has been the same deal for the past 3 years now, so the odds/chances, etc shouldnt be new here.

I paid $350 for my ticket when i missed out in 2007. Doubt I'd do that again tho if I miss out this time...

Re: Grand Final tickets - reminder

Yeah, I know. I missed both ballots as I was sent overseas for work in September for both 07 and 08 lol.. All of this talk of about 1/3 getting a ticket has me worried.. Looks like I'm going to have to start grovelling to MCC members for tickets.

Re: Grand Final tickets - reminder

Neither did I until I went to find the number in the pamphlet. Will make things a lot easier.

Also, it will be easier to find out if you have tickets via the net as you should be able to view tickets in your "My Tickmaster" part of the site once the draw is done.
That would be strange if the Ticketmaster website had the actual tickets on there if successful since Ticketek is the official agent of the MCG.

Re: Grand Final tickets - reminder

Do any of the 'September Members' know whether you have/need a special September Membership number or anything for the registration? The last 2 years I've just been a normal member and used my barcode for the ballot, and I'm not even sure I have any different number due to the September Member being confirmed mid-season, but I don't want to be (stuck at work) ringing up with only my GFC member number, and them wanting to know any other number that I may not even know...

You use the barcode on your membership card which should say September member on the back.:)

Go CATS!!

If your September membership was only offered to you by the club after the season began (because you were on the waiting list), your members card won't have 'September Member' written on the back...

However, I don't believe I was allocated any new number when I came off the waiting list, so you must still use the barcode number off your 2009 membership card. The club must update the records of barcode numbers for September membership after the 'new' September members have been finalised.

Think I'll ring the club to confirm this before Thursday...although we all know how helpful they can be.

Re: Grand Final tickets - reminder

1/3 ish
about 25,000 register for 8,000 tickets.

I don't know if anyone is able to confirm/dismiss the numbers we came up with in this thread from last year. If they are correct, around 50% of members applying received a ticket...

This matches my actual experience last year - my Dad and I both applied separately; we got one ticket from the two applications.

We didn't take the risk of applying together, because of the 'one out, all out' rule.

If the boys get there, and you miss out in the ballot, you can ring the interstate clubs (and possibly interstate travel agencies). They will be looking to get rid of tickets that they'd planned to pass on to people flying from their state to the game. Got two tickets this way last year (on GF eve) through the Lions....

Very expensive, though.

Re: Grand Final tickets - reminder

Just located (and re-read) the letter I received when offered September membership for 2009. This sentence appears in the body of the letter...

'Once we have processed your payment the barcode on your existing membership card will be upgraded to include your September Member Grand Final ticket access entitlement.'

So all you'll need is the barcode on your 2009 membership card.

GOYOUMIGHTYCATTERS!!!:)

Help needed !! (membership)

Hi fellas.

I havent posted here for a year or 2, but im hoping someone here can help me out.

I am planning to come over for the prelim - my first live game in yonks - with my parents, who are both members and my wife... Fanatical Cats supporters and long time members the lot of us!!

I have a membership myself but we didnt renew my wife's at the start of the year because we were seperated at the time. We want to assure tickets on the Monday as we have already booked flights and accommodation (if we leave it to next week flights will probably be all sold) and so finally getting to the point I was hoping some very kind Geelong member who for whatever reaon isnt attending the game can let us use their membership barcode (to book online next monday)

Please sing out if you can help!!

GO CATTERS!

Re: Grand Final tickets - reminder

Mine doesn't

Are you an AFL member? If so there was a printing error when they did those cards and it doesn't say it.

Re: Help needed !! (membership)

I too am looking for an extra barcode if anyone out there is not using theirs (ie: interstate memberships). Am traveling over with my father who is a mad geelong supporter) and I am the adult home 11 membership holder. Thx!

Re: Help needed !! (membership)

I wouldn't worry too much because they keep seats in Premium, Prime and Standard for the General Public sale on Wednesday. As we have found out over the last few years, these seats are better than whats offered to club members.
