2009 Trade Discussion Part 2

My dilemma:

Firstly i have lots of spare cash.

I am in a league where winning the grand final is the aim. All friends competing.

So im pretty convinced about trading Butler --> Robinson (best cash cow i dont have in the team)....Ive got Rich, A.Ottens and Ziebell in the midfield also.

The other trade im having difficulty deciding on is the following:

Should i trade Hill (Definately trading him, not sure to who though) to either:

Patrenko (another cash cow, adds to the many i have, leaving me with 850k to play with for the rest of the season)

OR

Leigh Harding (try and nail my 11th keeper).

Why did you get mackay in the first place?

What did you expect him to average?

Hes performed well so far.

mackay is pretty much doin as well as i could expect i understand that...
however now there is a player out there, rich, (who for some unknown reason i wanted to stay away from prior to season start) who is 100k cheaper and lets face it he is going to average the same as mackay and get as many games...

i''ll score 100k out of the trade and rich will rise in price atleast 50-100k more than mackay .. therefore i will be making 150k from trade atleast..

is that worth wasting a trade on ?? thats my question basically i dont really know what a trade is worth in monetry terms

or i could down grade hill to rance/cheney and up anthony to rich...

option one will leave me 130k in bank (already have 30k)
option 2 leaves me with no money in bank but 30 players getting games
????????

i'm confused :confused::confused::confused:

What do people think about J. Garlett?

I'm looking at trading Henstchel for Garlett purely as a money making trade. He looks good with an avg of 60. Can we expect him to keep his spot for the next two or 3 weeks?

In my opinion i can easily see him making way for either of Stevo or Grigg/Carrazzo. He sure shows glimpses of his talent, although at times indicates he lacks the polish needed at senior level just yet, so Ratts may see it wise to give him a break in the two's very soon.

The reality is someone is going to have to make way for the three returning senior regulars, and my early tips are that both Garlett and Joseph will be the unfortunate ones. Robbo will still hold his spot for quite some time yet, as the tackling and defensive pressure he adds to the side is sorely needed, and is well suited to the type of playing style Ratts is adapting to the side. :thumbsu:

Just had a quick look at Xavier Ellis' finish to the season - he averaged 88 over the final 6 games (plus scores of 85 and 136 come finals). Started the season with a score of 82 against Sydney. If he can average 85 he would be a keeper in my mind.

Ive got both McMahon and Bock not playing this week, and im loading with some odd trades. Currently looking at doing Simmonds -> Kreuzer and McMahon -> Fisher. They dont seem like good trades, but they really help set my season up.

Alternatively, I could trade McMahon down to Ellis. Gives me an additional 50k to play with, for a total of 348k. Enough to upgrade Brown/Walker plus Cheney at some point.

Thoughts?

if the 50 k extra with the Ellis trade comes in handy i'd be goin that way mate... as u you already know he is a star.:thumbsu::thumbsu: and his price should really only go up from there where as fisher u may be lucky enough to pick him up slightly cheaper in near future'.. or if not will be able to get someone of his calibre that has dropped in price when lookin at upgrading cheney

80odd in his comeback game against the swans are good signs too:thumbsu:

DILEMNA
OPTION 1
HILL >> RANCE (MCPHEE & RAINES ON MY BENCH) + i have cheney and petrenko

OPTION 2
RAINES >> HOULIHAN
only way i can do that is if i downgrade a keeper for another cheaper keeper :(

OPTION 3
KEEP HILL AND HOPE HE PLAYS AND SCORES AROUND 50-70

option 3 mate....... i want to f...k that hill off as much as anyone but if mark harvey has that much faith in him i spose us dtérs could cut him a bit slack and give him another week

concerning Hill, im pretty sure i read that Hill's wafl club has a bye this week so the freo committee would have seen it better to play him again in the 1s rather than give him the week off. this complicates things further as i wonder would if he would have been selected if his side were playing this week and what will happen in future?

Yeah he is going to be a flat out gun, such a good player already. Im not too fussed about his price rising though, as he will be one of my end of season keepers.

I think I will go for it. The extra cash will definitely come in handy. :thumbsu:

Hey guys,
sorry I would really appreciate some help here am in Perth on a holiday at the moment and am out all day so won't be able to do any trading before teams are published :mad::mad::mad:. So am not sure which option to take could some one please help me I would really appreciate it?

OPTION 1:
Hill --> Cheney or Petrenko

Butler --> Travis Tuck

OPTION 2:

Hill --> Cheney or Petrenko

Butler --> Andy Otten

I'm not sure which one I want to take but I want to get ride of Hill and Butler but it's for who? Am leaning on Petrenko for Hill. But not sure who for Butler who do you think I should take Otten or Tuck. I know Tuck's injured but I am willing to take a risk. With Otten I already have Rich, Robinson and Beams so should I go another rookie (cash cow) or go Tuck?

Could you please help me I would really appreciate it

hey guys in a whirlwind of what to do here

I am currently ranked 2000 with 20 trades and have raines Anthony tuck hill. I have cover for hills and raines (petrenko suban)and got Robinson otten as backups.

My question is It worth getting Cheney and rich as cash cows that will have immediate effect or waiting and keeping 2 trades.

Pleaseeee advice needed

is it worth using a trade and trading hentchsel ?

just seeing if anyone is ... and who for ? is garlett going to continue playing games?

also i have hill and petrenko playing , one to cover raines, if hill gets dropped is it worth trading him, if broughten plays ? if none do il trade hill

- I don't have either of Cheney or Robinson.
- Cash cows that i do have are Petrenko, Suban, Hill, Rich, Beams, Anthony, Jacobs, Spencer, M Brown, Ziebell and Ballantyne (Rich and Beams the only light in the tunnel)
- I'm obviously losing quite a bit of cash if i dont trade in Cheney and Robinson so im thinking:

Hill > Cheney
Anthony > Robinson

Thoughts? Am at a lost for thought here!

That was probably me as I have posted that a couple of times. I am doubtful he will play the following week as we have the Saints and they would be to physical a team for him. Besides I dont think it would do him much good to be involved in guaranteed belting we will get.

I'm stuck in the quandry of what to do with Anthony. I've committed in my mind to trade him (will make a good trade down target for any one of my mid cows in 6 weeks or so) but the question is who to get:

Robinson - showed a bit in the first 2 games and is looking at the biggest price rise of any of the cows, but is one ordinary game from playing in the VFL. Although he could light up against Essendon, will face Sydney, Bulldogs and Hawthorn in the following 3 fixtures, and will not have the space to run as he has thus far.

But, if I leave it, the train is gone!

Zaharakis - Like most people, he wasn't even on the radar for mid cash cows at the start of the year. Played an awesome game in the VFL two weeks ago, obviously ripped up last week (against Freo though). If he can hold his spot in the team, faces decent fantasy opposition in Brisbane and Collingwood in the coming weeks.

The risk is though, could be huge or could be a one-hit wonder. But if I take the extra week to see, I could miss Robinson.

My gut says hold the trade and wait and see on Zaharakis, then, even if he duds it this week, I can hold the trade and wait on Anthony's return. I do have a number of good cows to make money anyway (Rich, Beams, Otten, Ziebell, Hill - Pfft, Suban + Jacobs, Spencer, Walker and Brown to a lesser extent).

Thoughts?

Exactly the same rookies as you as well as Ottens, i have gone against my initail thoughts on hanging on to Hill, but the prospect of $56k and Cheney have lead me to make my first trade of the year.

The way i see it Cheney should make me atleast $70-$80k, then il be looking Anthony - Zaharakis pending this weeks game.

Leaves me with a alot of cash cows, and only used 2 trades by rd 5.

Sitting pretty barring injuries.

backs: cornes, goddard, fisher, adcock, petrenko (bock, raines, hill, brough) potentially 2 donuts... option 1) raines to cheney- nets 100k but 3 rooks on field and need hill/broug to play. Mayb hentschel to krak as well. Option 2) raines trade, and hill to gilbert.

Sorry but I really need some help am going soon and would like what people think I should do??? I have traded Hill for Petrenko but now I want to trade Butler (arrgh it didn't work.. for now but don't want to wait and see if it will) Should I trade him for Heath Hocking or Andy Otten??? I have been looking at Hockings stats and it has been quite good (avg. 104) but I know Otten's price will pretty much skyrocket so what do you think I should do and who should I get? Would really appreciate this help

Oh sorry kangaroo19 was supposed to quote this. I reckon that option 1 is the way to go just as I think as you will feel the benefits of it later. And again would really appreciate some help with my dilemma
