What do people think of Sam Gilbert? Currently $324k-ish, avg of 90ish, i'm thinking of upgrading Petrenko to him. Gilbert is bound to keep going up and his scoring means he is keeper potential imo and with that in mind he is fairly well priced for a 'keeper'.

I'm thinking of upgrading Petrenko to Gilbert too. Do it if you can.

But with Lucas seemingly on the way out and Walker underperforming seriously, I'm staring at a hole. Advice on the following appreciated.

Beams (180.1K) ->> Cockie (75.3K) - will he hold place in WC side? plus 83.2K in bank = 188.0K
then Lucas (264.9K) ->> S.Johnson (389.6K) or Riewoldt (444.2K)

or

Beams (180.1K) ->> Coughlan (176.4K) - durability a question but big upside? plus 83.2K in bank = 86.9K
then Lucas (264.9K) ->> J.Brown (351.5K) or Petrie (350.7K)

Bolded is the option I'm currently leaning to.

Also, Roughead is tempting at 313K but is he a keeper over Franklin? - I don't think I should have both.

I would appreciate some input from the more knowledgeable.

I've got Gaz, Beams, Hartlett and Anthony in the mids, 17 trades remaining and 420k in the bank.

I am thinking of going Anthony to Coughlan.

I will be therefore copping a 0 this week in order to hang on to the other non-playing mids, as there is certainly more cash to be generated there. (Of course there is still the possibility that Beams may play).

I have other captaincy options and got 2130 last week with Beams (35) starting.

Does this idea have merit, or is it completely dumb?

id lean towards the second. reasons being:

i dont know too much about Cockie but last year i got burnt by my downgrade options. If they dont play then you have totally wasted a trade.... yeah you get the money but having a person stagnate on your bench is very costly...

if you get Coughlan, yes there is risk of him injuring but he has the initial price where you can lay him off for a 86ker and get some cash back and if he doesnt get injured then teh upside is huge.

Surely you have more pressing problems then these two?

You bought them both thinking they would be premiums, I don't think trading them out is the right idea.

Pearce especially has shown he can rack up big scores, just needs some consistency. Price is irrelevant to premium, don't worry about how much they will rise/fall, focus more on what you think they will average for the rest of the year. Then decide if it is worth it.

Hmm not really? Scored 2170 last week. This is my team with 16 trades:

Backline

Chornes
Lockyer
Goddard
P. Burgoyne
Drummond
Suban
Petrenko
(Raines/Cheney)

Centreline

Gibbs
Selwood
Foley
Pearce
T. Tuck
Rich
(Beams/Ottens)

Cox
McIntosh

Fowardline

Chappy
Pavlich
N. Reiwoldt
Higgins
J. Reiwoldt
M. Brown
Ziebell
(NGB/Hentschel)

Foley and Pearce are my only players who have no chance of getting their BEs (who I see as tradeable - Pavlich stays) and I didn't exactly bring them in to be premiums. Well I thought Pearce would average 90 but he's only averaging 70 odd at the moment. I would dearly love to upgrade one to a premium coz I feel my midfield is letting me down from getting regular 2200 scores.

Oh and I'm $600 short of a straight swap of Foley to Vince :thumbsdown:

Easy one for people (hopefully):

Option A:

Richo > Chapman

Leaving 160k in the bank. Then wait for my cows to make money so I can upgrade elsewhere in a couple of weeks (say Rich > Bartel)

Option B:

Richo > Franklin
Rich > Bartel

Giving me two premiums that I would have brought in anyway, plus another captain choice. But this would wipe out my bank and Bartel won't make his b/e this week anyway.

Any help would be appreciated.

Second one.

Hey guys:

Need to free up some cash to grab SJ next week.

So its either:
Petrenko -> Greenwood
or
T Walker -> Macaffer

Walker has a higher B/E but greenwood seems safer.

Also how far away is Ballentyne and broughton.
Freo have so many rookies tussling it out it would seem a fair while before making any money.

Option B by miles.

Think i'm going to go:-

Robinson >> Cockie
Beams >> Bartel

Would give me a midfield of:-

Bartel
Swan
Gibbs
Selwood
Hasleby
Rich
----------
Hartlett
Cockie

looks good to me.

just curious were you ranked now and with how mahy trades left?

you were first a couple of weeks back aye?

whats everyone think of upgrading otten/rich to sewell
and downgrading ablett too bartel giving me that little extra cash to be able to get sewell
i want sewell as im goin for the league win and none of my mates will even consider him plus i think he could be in the top 8 mids

1. Ablett
2. Bartel
3. Swan
4. Corey
5. Montagna
6. Gibbs
7. Murphy
8. Sewell
9. Kornes
10.Thompson

Unlucky - Stanton, Judd, Mitchell

Top 3 are well ahead of the rest, all will avg over 112 for me.

The rest should all average 100.

Above is a post from another thread, ranking the predicted top mids this year, i was wondering where you see Sammy Micthell and at his price do you think hes a good downgrade option for Ablett, if i chose to trade him, which i may do next week.

Im just wondering where Sammy Mitchell is at this year, just with the Ablett fiasco, i was thinking of mabye one of Bartell + 20k, Swan / Corey 60k, or Mitchell and 130k?

It would free up more cash to upgrade better fowards next week, then downgrade otten to Swift, then Rich > Bartell if i chose the Mitchell / Corey or Swan option..

How do people see Mitchell this year? He seems to be floating around the backhalf a bit more, and is raking them up bar Kornes tag.

Thoughts??

+1 I am choosing b/w these same two trades

Leaning towards option A atm given the dearth of rookie backs..

...I'm thinking of Downgrading Delidio to Franklin. Deledio isn't scoring well at all, even on his good games and I want to jump on Buddy somehow this week because he's playing on small fries in their backline like Tayte Pears. and I think he can score huge. The options I have to swap him in are Pavlich, Deledio and Higgins and I'm leaning toward Deledio atm though I would have easily chosen Giansiracusa but he's like 1k short.

All great trades, can't lose with whoever you choose.

hey i'm thinking of doing one of these three options, not sure which though:

Option A:

Ablett------> Corey + more cash
Beams-----> Bartel

Option B:

Ablett------> Swan
Beams-----> Bartel

Option C:

Ablett------> Corey/Bartel/Swan
Petrenko---> Anyone.

I have ablett, beams and hartlett in the mids and only 1 playing reserve, (unless robinson is named)

Thoughts appreciated.

Hmm... I wouldn't trade out Beams or Petrenko yet, and I'm sure you'll get Corey for less in 2 weeks time. You should always look at getting a bargain. Maybe do Ablett for Marc Murphy (or someone equally cheap, but good), and do Beams for Corey in a couple more weeks.

One of the scenarios I am considering. I only have $27k so don't have many options of upgrading anywhere without downgrading somewhere, so think Ablett to Murphy may be worthwhile.

Will have $151k next week to either upgrade Brown to Franklin, or then downgrade Robinson/Beams to Cockie and upgrade Picken/Rich to Bartel or Corey.

So many options available... but trying not to burn too many trades!
