Hey guys just a quick opinion needed. At this stage of the season who would it be best to pick up?

Kornes
Scott Thompson
Cooney

Got about 410k to spend, any suggestions welcome, those three are at the top of my list though.

Cheers.

guys what do you reckon?

Bartel or Ablett, or any midfielder under 486k...

Bartel; the same description can be applied to him as I did to Swan/Ablett.

Here is why;

Ablett has had 354 disposals, 45 marks, 42 tackles, 13 goals this year for 1195 DT Points.

Bartel has had 329 disposals, 80 marks, 70 tackles, 6 goals this year for 1388 DT Points.

On average, Jimmy gets 2.8 points per DT play.
Where as, Gary gets 2.7 points per DT play.

If basing it solely on Points per disposal, Jimmy leads 4.1 to Gary's 3.3.

Jimmy is therefore the more effective DT'er per disposal, so it's a no brainer for me.

Kornes :thumbsu:, however, others to consider at or around your budget; Bryce Gibbs, Sam Mitchell and Nick Dal Santo.

Just because he averages more points per disposal doesnt neccessarily mean he is the better dream teamer. Ablett makes up for this in the amount of possessions he gets. Ablett averages ~ 35 and bartel averages ~ 28. The only reason id go bartel over ablett was if i was concerned over his nack of missing 2 weeks here and there. Needless to say i have both :thumbsu:

This week
IN: Bartel, Ballantyne
OUT: Rich, Dowler
27.8k remaining

Next week
IN: Broadbent
OUT: Suban
Approx 95k remaining for later on + 5 trades

Am looking at copping 2 x zeros in the forwards alone, and have got a crucial match coming up.

A downgrade will give me $390,100 (Sidebum > Ballantyne) to spend on Ziebell's replacement (FWD). Am a measly $4k short of Neon Leon, but it seems my best options are:

a) Didak- $377k, ave: 97
b) Davey- $333k, ave:90 (very handy $57k left over)
c) Gia- $382, ave: 89
d) J Brown- $342k, ave:87
e) Higgins- $348k, ave: 91

With Neon set to drop, I should probably wait a week, but I really need to win this week. That said, if the long-term benefits were great, then I would suck it up and wait a week. At this stage I'm probably leaning twards Didak or Higgins...any advice would be greatly appreciated???

*8 trades, $7.5k in bank.

B: Goddard, Gilbee, Lockyer, Enright, Houlihan, Grimes, Broughton (Suban & Cheney)
* Am happy enough for now with Grimes & Broughton, I know Hoops stinks but feel the forwards should be addressed first?
M: Ablett, Gibbs, Bartel, Kornes, Selwood, Haselby (Muston & Anthony)
* Would ultimately like to turn Hase > Premium but will run out of trades.
R: Petrie, Tippett (Jacobs, Spencer)
* Tippett was becoming Cox this week until his injury. Is the next port of call.
F: Franklin, Pavlich, N Brown, Goodwin, Deledio, SJ, Walker (Ziebell & Sidebum)

Ok fellas.. Posting this again just to get more opinions before i make the trades later on today. I have two options:

OPTION 1:

OUT: Chornes, Houlihan
IN: Lockyer, Enright

OPTION 2:

OUT: Grimes, Houlihan
IN: Lockyer/Enright, Hodge

Which option do people think i should choose? Also, if option 2 is what you think i should choose, then which of Lockyer and Enright should i choose?

Option 1 for mine. I'd take Lockyer before Enright if I had to choose, but definitely piss Chornes off before Grimey. The difference between L & E and L & H will be negligible anyway.

Thoghts on my situation above? Should I lock in Didak?

option 1, Chornes missing another 5 weeks now reportedly. Dont get rid of grimes.

Lockyer and enright both good players and houlihan needs the boot if anyone still has him.

option 1 for sure because like everyone else is doing they are making grimes a keeper and only trade him if you have no one else to upgrade and alot of trades left

This week Rusty to ballan (to avoid a 0)
and C morton to anyone under 500k (so no swan)
Next week coggs to anthony
rich to anyone
then broughton to anyone when he reachs his peak :thumbsu:

Thanks for all the replies fellas.

Now, as for this:

I would go with either Didak or J.Brown. Didak has always been a DT gun and he is still cheap(er than he should be). While J.Brown is having a quiet year by his standards, he is still managing to average just under 90.

Davey could be a smokey if you need the money, but he isn't as proven as the above two.

I've never been too big a fan of Gia in DT. I hate that he keeps getting named on the extended bench. As for Higgins, you've well and truly missed that boat, there's no point in getting him now when you can get someone who has more of a proven DT history.

As for me, i also have 5 trades left and will be copping a 0 this week maybe even 2 thanks to big Cox and Gilbee (if doesn't get up). Now with Sidebottom going down and my only back-up being the yo-yo Walker i am in a nasty position and if i dont act....i could lose the Elim.

I aint trading Cox because thats just stupid. Gilbee i am not sure on yet because he is named (most likely late withdrawal though). So here are my plans this week.

Walker > Ballantyne
Sidebottom > Didak

Leaving me with 3 trades left and completing my team.

My forward line as a result will be this:
Stevie J, L.Davis, Pav, Deledio, Didak, Gia and Higgins.

Now if i cop 2 0's as a result of Cox and Gilbee, Didak's score compared to Walker's should help in alleviating the impact of 0's. However that being said i go down to 3 trades .

Thoughts?

Thoughts guys, i kinda have to make my decision now because im going out soon and wont have time tonight.

Hey guys its guna hav to be my last 2 trades leaving me with 4 unfortunately, im looking at sidebottom/walker - balantyne then zeibell - didak

what do u think

Ok, even though it's going to be a pain, I'm keeping Chornes. I'm on top of my league ladder and in one of the league's I'm undefeated. I have 7 trades left so I want to make 1 final upgrade.

I have 7 trades left, recommendations?

Option 1:
Warren -> Ballantyne
Rich -> L.Hayes/J.Corey (Anyone under $475,200)

Option 2:
Warren -> Ballantyne
Dale Thomas -> Anyone in the forward line (Riewoldt, SJ, ROK, anyone)

Who should I trade Chornes for?

Thinking: Ellis, Mundy, Newman, Gram.
I think I'm going to have to trade Cornes too, with Drummond (;)) still out, I can't afford so many duds starting in my backs.

I think Ellis looks good value and is probably more consistent than the others you mentioned.

And who should I trade out to get Ballantyne? Walker, Brown or Sidebottom?

i think im guna get rid of sidebottom, just thhink his position in the side isnt as stable as walker

i have walker and sidebottom and i thhink im going to do sidey or should i do hartlett?

also brown job security is good

yeah walker should play every game which i think is more important than a slightly higher scorer on average.

my question is whether jono brown is too risky a player to get?
only good player i can afford and it would only mean:
brown
vs
a 0 for a week + sidey or ballantyne hopefully playing for a few weeks after + sj/didak/chapman for the rest of the year after that

i think it is the right thing to trade him in but just wondering if people think he could average 95+ for the remainder of the year?

Have gone from Ziebs -> Ballantyne under the priviso that Chornes and Boak pile some big scores when they return....

Not sure whether to go Chornes to Ellis at this point... in order to go from FrontBum -> Riewoldt the week after.

My thoughts also about Browndog. I reckon he probably is but definetely 90-95. Remember 2 things he comes home like a train usually & his first half of the season hasn't been detremental. He usually goes through a month were he averages about 120+ and we may see one of those this year. Hopefully as i will most like jump on JB for Sidey
