2009 Trade Discussion Part 9

Yes I am finding it very difficult.

Well it will be an obvious choice of who to trade depending on who is named. If Grimes is named I trade Ellis, if Ellis is named I trade Grimes and if both are named I trade Cheney.

Of who to trade in I want to sort of stay away from Duffield and Enright because I already have 5 players in that game.

I already have three blues and four saints so Gram and Carazzo have downsides.

Lockyer has the biggest positives going for him as I only have one Pie and one Dog, plus my opponent has him. Going with that I could go with Hargrave or Lake with a similar frame of mind.

While it is a lottery I think Enright is good. Freo at times can struggle to hit forward targets. He could clean up in defence all game. My opinion only though.

Well, as it stands it looks like neither Bock nor Grimes are going to pull up for me here ... and with 1 trade left, Bock is worth more. I can afford any defender that I don't already have apart from Embley (who I don't really want) - who do you guys think is the best bet for this weekend?

Have one trade left about 10k in cash and a full team with emergencies on every line.
Scored 2300 last week so team is up and about
Cant beleive after saving trades all year may not end up using them all

Got 1 trade left, nowhere to use it. Might just end up trading Brennan - wouldn't back him to score much at the SCG this week.

Hopefully Riewoldt and Buddy miss.:p

Why would you not want Embley?
His playing Richmond at Home - Should do well this weekend TBH.
However Carazzo, Enright would be my top 2. Enright probably safer but Carazzo significantly more likely to go bang and pull out a big score (been known to rack up 130-150 scores). If you just want a league win and rate yourself go Enright, if you think your going to struggle to win or want the shot at climbing overall then Carazzo.

Lockyer is up and down and in a toughish match.
Duffield is playing Geelong at skilled stadium and I dont see Duffield gettng that run off CHB that hes been doing so well. Gram could go either way but given the risk I would stay away, given who St Kilda are playing aswell how often will the ball reach the Saints backline also worries me abit, might not see enough of the ball.

suban duh

which mid and forward, disregarding price, will score the highest this week
Calm down mate it isn't that easy.
Suban been inform getting extra TOG and playing in the mids'
plus really there is no person in the Backs who is certain to get 100+
while in the midfield you got people like ablett and montagna who look like getting 120+.
Also because Brennan is playing at the scg he might do really badly because that place is a black hole so i am stuck :p

Got $343,300 to replace Buddy if/when appeal fails. Best options as I see it are:

A Davey ($331k) ave: 89.9, last 5- 91.6, opp Saints
Stevie J ($337k), ave: 99.4, last 5- 84, opp Fremantle
Byrnes ($290k), ave: 86.5, last 5- 71.8, opp Fre
LeCras ($330k), ave: 73.5, last 5- 90.8, opp Rich
Higgins ($338k), ave: 88.7, last 5- 87.4, opp Coll
Brennan ($324k), ave: 84, last 5- 82.4, opp Syd
N Brown ($266k), ave: 78.2, last 5- 67.6, opp WC (is a wildcard IMO, playing for his career).

For context, my team:
B: Goddard, Enright, Lockyer, Chornes, Gilbee, Houlihan, Broughton (Suban & Silvester)
M: Ablett, Bartel, Gibbs, Sewell, Selwood, Kornes (Anthony & Muston)
R: petrie, Tippett (Jacobs & Spencer)\
F: Riewoldt, Deledio, Franklin, Pavlich, Goodwin, Didak, Fevola (Ballantyne & Walker)

Thoughts??

Ok problem here guys, don't have enough to upgrade both but Stevie J won't play, so whilst I was thinking of upgrading to any back I want (thinking either Lockyer or Enright), should I instead upgrade a forward such as Callum Wilson to someone like B. Johnson or O'Keefe?

Replacing chappy and can afford anyone in the forwards. Currently have:

Pav, Reiwoldt, Davis, Didak, Harvey, Porplyzia.

Who should I bring in?

ROK or Deledio IMO. ROK's been a bit down, but has 3 teammates retiring this week, i reckon he'll get up for them.
Similarly, Lids is playing WC, has been in stellar form, and even though his spot is obviously safe, I reckon he'd want to finish with a bang under the watchful eye of a new coach.

What you reckon for me?

Last trade:

Buddy -> Igniter

That will leave me with a playing emergency in each position and no rookies on the field for the GF (apart from Broughton)

Stoked I saved a few trades as I have been able to dispose of Buddy and SJ in the last two weeks, while my opponent is forced to keep both.

Urgh think I just blundered... could have downgraded S. Johnson to a Didak or ROK and upgraded Grimes to a half-decent defender, but now I have 250k sitting in my salary cap with no trades left.

Aker will cut up Collingwood as usual, he always gets away from us, I'd be looking at him if you are searching for a Buddy upgrade.

Well now that the decision on Buddy is final.
Like everyone else that has a trade left, who the hell for? 442k to spend.

Already have:
Volt/Pav/Deledio/Goodwin/Cloke/Nahas....Ballantyne bench v Geel, no way in hell am I playing him, need backup just on the really rough chance volt pulls out.

Mitch Clark: v Jolly n sydney, scored lousy 67 last time, NO
BJ: v Pies, have had BJ for 4 years, decided age might catch him in '09, it didn't. Scored 77 last clash.
Didak: v WB, = Picken may get the job, so a bit risky. Can't remember who was on him last clash but did score a huge 140.
Fev: hahahaha no way, tosser could easily throw a dummy spit and trash all your hopes.
Aker: v Pies, bit of a smokey, is in hot form, scored 122 last time.
Brown: v Sydney NO, 79 previously.
Davis: v WB, can be a little hot n cold at times, worth the risk. 109 last clash.
Okeefe: v Bris, probably one of the best choices even tho he only scored 82 last time they met.
Lynch: v Rich, only scored 72 last time they met, otherwise I may be swayed a little.
Harvey: v Port, form is not what it should be, will have to pass.

First choices in bold, and am still none closer to a decision.

I would get BJ if I had the cash. Unfortunately I only have 376k and under forwards to choose from.

Considering Davis, Mcglyn or Petrie.

Complete ****ing disaster for the GF this round.

Outs: Newman, Pettard, Douglas, Chapman & Franklin.

Can bring off the bench Grima to cover either Newman or Pettard and have one trade left (+$160k) to cover one of the FWDS or remaining DEF.

Still 3 duck eggs coming up.
