Dempsey > Gilbert

Yeah that'll be all thanks. :)

Many people considering the Anthony --> Robinson sideways trade?? Or maybe Beams instead if he is named this week?

I can't see the point of keeping him when Robinson has the ability to be a perfect cash-cow early on (ala Joshy Hill last season).

Only if Robinson cracks another 80+ will I consider him, definately not pulling the trigger this week tho, and remember Carlton have got a lot of best 22 still to come back in.

Assuming he's ready, Hayden has to be first in, though he could slot in for Drum. Headland is also due back in soon. Neither of Hill or Suban did much. FWIW, the stats were:

Hill: 78% TOG, 9 disposals (4 contested) at 100% efficiency.
Suban: 55% TOG, 9 disposals (2 contested) at 56% efficiency.

Hayden's done his hammy, so he won't be back for a few weeks.

Thinking of trading Butler to Skipworth. Butler looks slow and with 2 years out the game looks past him. Skippy did better than his NAB cup games and looks like a 22 game player for Essendon.

Want to get Rich and Cheney into my team, at the expense of Hill and Anthony, but will wait until after round 2 to see what happens.

im very tempted to dump lade too - thought he would be different from the rest but screwed me....prob wont trade this first week though....

I need some serious help with possible trades for this week, or if I should do any. My bank is $100.

Backs: Goddard, Enright, C.Cornes, P.Burgoyne, R.Houlihan, Raines, Hill (Petrenko, Broughton)

Mids: Bartel, J.Selwood, S.Tuck, Wells, A.Otten, M.Robinson (L.Anthony, J.Steven)

Rucks: Cox, Petrie (Jacobs, Spencer)

Fwds: Delidio, Franklin, Goodwin, Lovett, Skipworth, Higgins, Krakeour (Walker,Brown)

Now my dilema all centres around my defence and Raines. I could not do any trades this week but then I would start Hill and Petrenko and have no defence emergies. If I trade Raines then I really need to make another trade to afford Geary. How do I get this money that's what I wanted help with.

My options as I see it.
-Krakeour for Ziebell and Raines for Geary (or similar player)
-Enright for Gilbee and Raines for Geary
-Goodwin for Thomas and Raines for Geary
-Selwood/Tuck for Pearce and Raines for Geary
-Petrie for McIntosh and Raines for Geary

my other option is to make a trade to give me cover on the mids with anthony being out.

-Raines for Suban and Steven for Rich

the other option is to make no trades but with that would mean petrenko/hill/robinson/otten all starting and having no emergencies at all in the mids/backs.

Ive just put some thought into the raines situation, and come up with these two scenarios:

TRADE RAINES
Rounds 1, Raines, 68 = 68 points
Rounds 2-7, Geary, average 65 = 390 points
Rounds 8-22, Hodge, ave 95 = 1425 points

TOTAL = 1883 points

DONT TRADE RAINES
Rounds 1, Raines, 68 = 68 points
Rounds 2-6, Hill, ave 55 = 275 points
Rounds 7-12, Raines, ave 75 = 450 points
Rounds 13-22, Hodge, ave 95 = 950 Points

TOTAL = 1743 points
might need to rethink those calculations. Hill put in a shocker and could easily be dropped for round 2 after the dockers went down by 10 goals.

Hmm, not really sure what to do about Reilly.

Word on the Adelaide board is he could be on the chopping block.

Could trade him to Tuck(and go against one of the Golden rules) or perhaps trade him down to Robinson, and start both Rich and Robinson.

Really don't want to waste a trade, but if he is dropped I will have him and Anthony on the bench.

Grigg just had to get injured, before round 1, didn't he. :p

Can someone please advise me on this.

I have a dream team league dilemma but can't make a new thread. If anyone can help. I have a friend who joined my league on Saturday. He wasn't able to choose a team. It looks like he will be able to choose a team after lockout and will be able to choose the players that didn't get injured and the rookies that got the most points without any penalty. He would be out of the running for the overall prize but would get a good head start advantage for my league. That is nless i'm missing any penalties. I know he has a supercoach team so i'm thinking of getting him to choose his same team from that.

Any suggestions?

Don't make any trades this week, seriously, it is stupid.

If you insist on trading early, even though you don't even need to do the two you mentioned (-maybe- Raines), wait at least until Round 2.
You aren't going to cop a zero with Petrenko, and even if you were, you need the extra week to assess who to bring in before they change in price.

Rich went well this week, but what happens if you trade him in prematurely and he scores like 12 next week and gets dropped? Leaves you f*cked.

Just be patient, the game goes for 22 weeks and once you use your trades they are gone for good.

Good assesment, my problem being if I don't make a trade this week I start Petrenko/Hill with no emergencies. Hill will likely be on an extended interchange next week, if he doesn't play I cop a 0 for that week vs getting a Geary and guaranteed score.

the problem with that is geary was pretty shithouse last night and his job security is far from safe

not sure what to do with raines
might have to downgrade to hurley

Ok, the guys ive highlighted shouldnt be traded unless they pick up a long term injury. Otherwise your just wasting trades. I wouldnt do any trades this week, but if you absolutely have to avoid a 0, trade Raines, but just him. Lot of players around his price range.

If you want to get rid on Anthony, wait until the end of next round. You will get to see if Robinson plays well again, or if Beams get a game.

There should be a few other before Hill that get dropped I reckon, and Harvey has a bit of pressure on him to continue playing the kids. I'd be surprised if Hill got dropped.
The other thing is, if Hill gets dropped, Broughton is almost a certainty to play, so you are pretty safe.

Even if they both don't play and you cop a zero, so what? I'm guessing you aren't out to win the whole thing, probably just your league which doesn't start for three weeks. I'd prefer to cop my zero's early on, and still have my trades when the real stuff starts rather than waste one and trade in someone like Geary who is far from cemented himself.

It is only 30 points in the scheme of things if you cop a zero from Hill anyways going off his 2009 average :)

yeah you should stick with Lucas Ben. Lucas still got a 78 which means that his price will increase anyway. I'm sure that you have a mid or forward that got lower than 78 so I'd trade them out for Higgins who is only $211,900.

What do people think of Bernie Vince? I made the cardinal mistake of picking up Cousins (let the bagging begin) and need to use a trade straight away.

Was tossing up between Vince and Tuck.

I have Rich on the bench so could just sub him in and wait a week but then I will miss the opportunity to jump on a cash cow next week.

B - 6 Premiums, Hill (Dawson, Petrenko)
C - 3 Premiums, Ottens, Rich, Robinson (Ziebiell, Anthony)

I want to jump on the Cheney and Dangerfield train, so thinking of Hill for Cheney and Anthony for Dangerfield..

Is that crazy?

Wait till Beams plays ... I think he would be a better option than dangerfield also is 30k cheaper. I will be getting Cheney however if i was in ur situation i wouldnt

Gibbs for the extra 20k u get a 100% keeper.
Between Vince and Tuck i would go Vince u will need to eventually upgrade Tuck. Sure he had one good week.

I already have Gibbs who I was very happy with.

I guess Johnstone is another option as I liked the role he played the other night under Voss.

The other option is to bring in Robinson now and hope he has another good performance next week which will ensure the cash after Round 3. That way I get to wait another week before making a change as I really want to have a spare trade available next week in case of another injury.
