2010 Ladder Predictions

Using highly scientific methods, no doubt much more accurate than those used by the people who have posted before me, I have come up with the following results:

1. Melbourne
2. North Melbourne
3. Brisbane Lions
4. Fremantle
5. Richmond
6. Essendon
7. Port Adelaide
8. Adelaide
------------------
9. Collingwood
10. Geelong
11. Hawthorn
12. St Kilda
13. Western Bulldogs
14. Carlton
15. Sydney
16. West Coast

Now, while some of my results will be slightly off due to things that we cannot possibly know about right now, such as injuries, I'm confident that my method of using a random number generator to select the ladder will no doubt prove reasonably accurate.

Nice to be back mate :thumbsu: :)

And hopefully the Bay admin droids will keep their word & I'll be back around there soon too ;)

Geelong and Hawthorn will only make the bottom half of the eight at best. Collingwood to fall away a bit as well.
Adelaide to be the big mover

How will Brisbane go backwards?

My top 8 (bit silly to do this so early):

1.Collingwood
2.Saint Kilda
3.Carlton
4.Brisbane
5.Geelong
6.Western Bulldogs
7.West Coast Eagles
8.Essendon

lmao brisbane ahead of geelong
why does everyone think we will drop
next year all our players should get a full pre season in hunt back from his knee and maybe only one retirement we should be better next year then this year lol

Well yeah KF, you know I agree that WCE would've also been substantially higher up on the ladder without the injuries you guys have had to contend with. Even on the Bay I've said that.

As far as I can see, we're also in with a decent chance of playing finals next year if we have our best 22 on the park most weeks.

But in response to TC, I find it pretty hard to see how we'd have finished 15th this year if we'd won 7-9 games, as we certainly would have without the ridiculous injury list. Somewhere between 9th & 13th- that's about where we'd have been.
This never eventuates.

1-4, St Kilda, Collingwood, Doggies, Adelaide.
5-8, West Coast, Hawthorn, Carlton, Geelong.
9-12, North Melbourne, Essendon, Brisbane, Port Adelaide.
13-16, Melbourne, Richmond, Fremantle, Sydney.

Something like that, though alot will be detrmined by injuries/draw.

This never eventuates.

This x 2. Don't ever count on the best 22 being there most weeks. Near impossible in the AFL nowadays.

I probably should make mine.

1. Collingwood
2. St Kilda
3. Carlton
4. Geelong
5. Hawthorn
6. Adelaide

I don't think a cleaned out list is going to perform that well in it's first season... but good luck to them though.

It's only about 10 players going. We'll only benefit from not having them on the list. I have plenty of confidence in what will be left over and what will be added in the draft. Hardwick will get them on the weights and run them into the ground over the next 6 months. The players gave up trying with a month to go.

The players gave up trying with a month to go.

Great culture. :thumbsu:

1. Collingwood
2. St Kilda
3. Geelong
4. Essendon
5. Adelaide
6. Brisbane
7. Carlton
8. Hawthorn
---------------
9. Richmond (Gotta go with the percentages)
10. Bulldogs
11. West Coast
12. North Melbourne
13. Sydney
14. Fremantle
15. Melbourne
16. Port Adelaide

St.Kilda - still good side, i think premiership contenders for 09, 10, 11
Geelong - many will write them off but they still have Ablett, Bartel, Selwood in their prime, Scarlett will still be good. Hawkins improves. Fit Stevie J, Chapman. Still quality unit.
Adelaide - gun side, best forward line the league in 2010
Collingwood - Wont change much from last year. Think they are one star from being premiers. Presti needs to go on.

Western Bulldogs - wont change but Crows will overtake. Dont think this side can win a flag, but ive been wrong before.
Carlton - wont be able to overtake WB, Adel, Geel, St.K, Coll next year. We'll improve but the ladder position will be similar.
Hawthorn - Forwards and mids are good enough to get them to 7th without a ruck or backs. Aggressive trading inc. Pick 9.
Cant seperate these 2
Port Adelaide - Still got loads of talent. Mids like Boak, Cassisi, Burgoyne, Cornes x2. Might struggle to kick goals but i think they can sneak back in.
Brisbane - They're a pretty good side but i think there is 8 sides better.

Essendon - Think they're a quality young side and will improve but they'll go backwards on the ladder in 2010 IMO. I can see more improvement next year in Port and Hawthorn but after that the world is Essendons oyster.
West Coast - good side but i dont think as good as the 10 above them

My opinion is this is a lock for bottom 5

Sydney - will always be competitive but not good enough for finals.
Fremantle - sandy and pav will get them out of the bottom 3.
Richmond - tough start for the new coaches. Richmond could surprise and make it to around 10th but their list is mostly crap. Cotchin and Deledio are the keys, they must improve. Can't see them kicking or stopping winning scores.
North - Average list. I can find good players like Petrie but cant see him being a premiership forward.
Melbourne - improve but i still cant see them being better than anyone else.

RS: Pick 7

1) St. Kilda - similar to this year
2) Adelaide - the most in form team right now and with their forward line and rebound 50's and home factor could be back in top 2
3) Hawthorn- no injury excuses next year for the hawks
4) Collingwood - A great forward line and slick midfield should still be a top 4 team next year.
5) Western Bulldogs- If can find a forward would finish much higher
6) Geelong- Slide a little but still top 8 material.
7) Carlton- WIll continue to improve though i think it will take an extra year as still needs to develop key backs and other forward options.
8) Essendon - Big improvers this year and think they will continue it next year.
9) Brisbane- IMO over achieved a little but may slip into 8 due to home factor.
10) West Coast - Have the potential to snare a spot in the eight with some extremely exciting players coming along. Will play better football next season, but I still can't bring myself to put them into the top eight just yet.
11) Melbourne - Another side with exciting youth. A very promising backline with x-factors of davey, sylvia, jurrah, wonna and watts and scully will be significant improvers and may even slip into 8 if lucky.
12) Port Adelaide - Don't rate them. Have the potential to go further, but I just see them coming 12th. Depends which port will turn up next year.
13) Sydney -WIth so many retirees a slip is on the cards for the swans.
14) North Melbourne - Certainly the potential is there, but were pretty bad this season. Would take a lot to do any better than 14th IMO.
15) Richmond - Unfortunately for the most part, Richmond have been really bad. I quite like the club, and really hope they lift soon. I don't think they'll break out too soon though.
16) Fremantle - Certainly not the worst side in the league, but with their extreme youth being played at the moment (though they do have some might fine young players coming through) they may just find themselves playing catch up footy all year long. Some great young players there, and have the potential to become Fremantle's best side yet, but 2010 is another rebuilding year.

1 team moves into the 8 from outside the 8 the previous season? Not going to happen.

Everybody's ladders are far too similar to this years. Every year there is atleast 3-4 teams that make the 8 that didn't the previous year.
