Um, to whom exactly?

As for Day ending up number one, sure ... he might. I'd like to see more from him considering he's a well built lad already.

But KPP's always take longer, I'll give him 5 years before I judge him.

Heppell seems a forgotten man to some people.

Really? He's been mentioned in almost every post, and named number 1 and 2 in a couple of lists.

Way too early, especially for the big guys, but:

1) Bennell
2) Swallow
3) Darling
4) Day
5) Heppell
6) Gaff
7) Conca
8) Parker
9) ISmith
10) Liberatore

Not really to everyone on this board but in general he is barely being talked about, i just had no idea how someone could have Luke Parker ahead of him.[/quote]

I assume you are referring to me?

Parker 2012 (subbed out twice injured) Stats

Why dont you a look at 2011 stats, any footballer follower would have Hepp ahead of Parker, in fact Parker is probably my fav player outside of Essendon, very unhappy that we took Steinberg ahead of him.

Parker played half the games Heppell did in 2011 and was the sub often.

Yeah I was surprised he fell so low (pick 40) in the draft.

Mine would be
1. Heppell
2. Bennell
3. Swallow
4. Darling
5. Gaff
6. Fasolo
7. Prestia
8. Day
9. Lynch
10. Puopolo
11. Duigan
12. Conca
13 Smedts
14 I. Smith
15. Caddy
16. Karnezis
17. Guthrie
18. B.Smith
19. Atley
20. Harper
Don't think Duigan should be so high, he's a horrible kick

More than happy with Liberatore, Wallis and Dahlhaus, I think they are all top 20 but obviously biased.
Easily top 20. Liberatore's been very good from debut, Wallis has come on in leaps and bounds after a slowish start to his career (came on as sub against Freo in a tight game, found it hard to adjust to the tempo). Little needs to be said for Dalhaus.

No love for Polec? Has all the tools, wouldn't hesitate picking him at 8 in hindsight, if it went something like;

1 - GC - Swallow
2 - GC - Bennell
3 - GC - Darling
4 - WCE - Gaff
5 - Bris - Day
6 - Rich - Heppell
7 - GC - Parker
8 - Ess - Polec

Luke Parker is a gun who plays a more important role than Heppell. If both were offered to Port at the same price, I'd want them to take Parker. Needs way more love in this thread and would be getting it if he played for a club that ever got any media coverage.

1. Swallow
2. Bennell
3. Day
4. Gaff
5. Heppell
6. Parker
7. Conca
8. Darling
9. Polec
10. Prestia
...

...
...
85. Caddy (Worth a 3rd rounder at best)

It depends if you are judging them on potential or what they have shown to date.

If on potential, Gorringe/Polec should be high but havent shown alot yet. Similar with Caddy.

Parker and Swallow will be the best inside mids in the comp in 5 years.

I'd take them over all BUT Day and Darling at this point.

Then I'd take your elite outside mids in Heppell, Gaff, Bennell.

Just on Fasolo (because he is a pie)... I'm surprised he is featuring in some top 10s, what do people like about him to put him that high? Is it just that he has performed quite well in a team that last year was very hard to break into? Or is it something about his skill/game style? (taking away your hatred for him to be an antagoniser on field). I think he has been a bit too inconsitent, but maybe that has come with age/experience.

FWIW, in the VFL he was pretty much our best inside mid with a very good ability to deliver by foot - so he will move into the midfield in time. I wouldn't have him ahead of alot of those mids already mentioned though.

Fair enough, that is good to hear. He hasn't been as damaging as alot of those listed though, as I said he is too inconsitant at the moment. It's good that there are alot of very consitant and best 22 midfielders already coming through in this draft though! Great to watch young guns already having big impacts.
