Potential wise, not much would have changed from the original top 10. Based on pure AFL output so far, I would rank them...

1. Gaff
2. Bennell
3. Heppell
4. Swallow
5. Darling
6. Prestia
7. Liberatore
8. I. Smith
9. Conca
10. Atley

Could make an argument for Bennell #1 but Gaff has been consistently better IMO. But overall it doesn't really mean alot. Stephen Hill would have been ranked #1 at a similar stage and now he would struggle to make the top 10 from the 08 draft.

Based on output alone you wouldn't even have Parker in your top ten?

No love for Harps or Sydney's Johnno?

1. Darling.
2. Heppell
3.Swallow.
4. Lynch
5.Gaff
6.Bennell
7.Conca
8. Parker
9.Atley
10.I.Smith
11.Liberatore
12.B.Smith
13.Caddy
14.Alex Johnson
15.Jake Batchelor

That's my top15, I've placed a couple KPPs higher on the list such as Darling at 1 and Lynch at 4 due to the fact that playing in Key Posts is a far harder position to fill then a flanker or a midfielder, I've got Alex Johnson and Jake Batchelor at 14 and 15, both are very similar type players, Batchelor probably the better all round player, is probably slightly better over head as well.

A couple of rippers that I think will jump up over the next few years are Harper, Daniel Gorringe and Seb Tape, Gorringe especially, just something about him that I think will make him a very good footballer.

Day I don't think hasn't done enough at the moment, doesn't mean I don't think the draft pick used on him wasn't warranted, just more so the fact that I've based this top15 off of performances to date.

Day doesn't deserve a spot in anyone's top 10. He showed all the potential in the U18s with his athletic gifts, but he's shown little.

Put Day in the Watts basket as a project who will take time.

Even though he's had the advantage of an almost ready made body (95kg's upon entry) he never committed to AFL until late and has a lot to learn.

TPM must be the only person here who watches Swans games! Parker and Johnson are at LEAST top 20!

You obviously don't watch many North games either.

1. Swallow
2. Bennell
3. Darling
4. Parker
5. Gaff
6. Heppell
7. I.Smith
8. Lynch
9. Conca
10. Prestia
11. Day
12. A.Johnson
13. Batchelor
14. Fasolo
15. B.Smith
16. Caddy
17. Howe
18. Harper
19. Atley
20. Guthrie

Blue = Debatable.

Black = No

People not having Swallow at number 1 still are dreaming, has outperformed every 2010 draftee so far, unfortunate with his recent injury but would still sit comfortably ahead of everyone else so far.

Fasolo looks like he'll be a good player, very happy with what we paid for him in what looks likely to be a pretty handy draft, a bit premature for this thread though IMO.

I also thought Dalhaus was from the 2010 draft, must have been 09.

I am not sure how much you have seen of the Gold Coast players this year but Day has shown some very good signs and remains IMO the best performed KPF prospect from this draft behind Darling. Lynch has had an up and down season, he seems to have not come on as much, in that he is not kicking goals, yet he has shown good signs as a defender and has played some good spurts at CHF and really looked a future star, he would be the third best KPF IMO. Prestia has justified his position at 9 he has had a great year so far before getting injured, and Swallow and Bennell are still probably worthy of being no 1 and no 2. with their seasons this year. Caddy has been disappointing, he finds the ball but needs to use it better although this has improved.

As for Brisbane I really think that Polec has come on this year and shown the talent and game breaking ability that saw him picked at 5.

I am not sure if I would change the top 10 too much, maybe I could reshuffle the order a bit and the only player that would come in to the mix IMO would be Jack Darling.

My top 20 based on Potential and Performance:
1. Swallow
2. Bennell
3. Day - I still that Day has more potential to be a KPF than Darling and I think that Gold Coast would not change this pick.
4. Darling - Very close with Day, as he has shown more so far by some way, yet i think he will be a very good part of a forward line, where as you could build a forward line around Day I think.
5. Gaff - I think that Gaff has really come on this year, and whilst he will improve I don't think it will be by too much, still looks to be a great winger.
6. Heppell - Has improved from an excellent first year to be one of the best young HBF around.
7. Polec -I think on talent and what he has show this year for Brisbane he looks to be an excellent game changing prospect. I think he has a higher ceiling than Gaff and Heppell but they are better players already, and he may not end up reaching his ceiling so you take a sure chance.
8. Prestia -I really rate him as a player, he looks to have not many weaknesses, very good inside and out, can find the ball well, just needs to improve his disposal.
9. Lynch - I think he is the third best KPP in the draft even still and has really shown some great signs over the last 2 years. I hope he comes on as expected.
10. Caddy - I think the last month has pushed him up here and he has really shown what he is capable of, he looks to be a clearance winner, just a bit iffy on his disposal although this has improved a fair bit.
11. Parker -Similar to Caddy, but without the same upside IMO, yet he has better disposal. I really rate him highly seems a toughnut.
12. Conca - I think that Conca has dropped a bit, doesn't seem to have the same star potential as other players picked after him, yet he is a real role player and is coming on nicely as a HBF/Mid.
13. Howe - He will bring in the crowds like no other, a super contested marking medium half forward, I really like him as a player and he could be a very good player.
14. Mitch Wallis - I think he has flown under the radar here a bit but I really rate him, just does the right thing with the ball when he has it and makes very good decisions. Has come on more this year.
15. Shaun Atley - Sure he has potential, but he seems to be more of a HBF with average kicking skills rather than a big bodied mid and I think he will be better on the HBF than as a mid.
16. Alex Johnson - I think he has come on great as a KPD and is the best defensive prospect so far IMO. I really rate his rebounding ability too.
17. Libertore - Looks to be a clearance winning machine who just knows how to find the ball in close. Just an innocuous type who is an important part of a team.
18. Batchelor - I think he has the makings of a very good medium/tall defender, he just knows how to defend and has a lovely left foot too.
19. Isaac Smith - I think he is a very good winger, has to be fed the ball to some extent but is the damaging outside player that a team really needs.
20. Daniel Gorringe - From the little I have seen of him he looks to be really raw, but has a ton of talent. i think he will need to move clubs before we see the best of him. Just moves well, has great hands and skills for a big guy.

This year looks to have had some great talent thus far and it will only get better IMO.

From Brisbane I think that Karnezis, Lester and Green have all showed talent at times, but I think all will be solid/good players rather than stars.

Watching Day's junior highlights he looked like an athletic freak - Franklineque. We've seen barely glimpses of that. Perhaps he will take time, but Cameron looks like kicking over 20 goals in his first year and he's new to serious football.

Sometimes recruiters should take the sure thing over projects, and I believe my club made that mistake overlooking Parker.

Don' understand how you could have Day in front of Darling - There is a yawning gap NOW - Day has a long way to catch Darling.

I think Day has had quite a good year, he has shown the ability to kick multiple goals and take contested marks. I think with his upside and with what he has shown now I think he will be the better Key Position prospect in the future. There is no doubting that Darling is better now, but the gap is not as big as everyone is suggesting I think. I think that overtime Day can become the better player and that when he has a better midfield around him as well as a better team he will become a better player.

In the future I would take Day as I feel that he has that something extra which could make him a superstar, whereas I think Darling will be a very good player bordering on elite. It would be a massive risk agreed but I think Day will be the better player.

3. Day - I still that Day has more potential to be a KPF than Darling and I think that Gold Coast would not change this pick.

You have Cook outside the top 20 when he has shown just as much as Day nothing, Cook was the All Australian CHF in this year, im not saying he has performed but neither has Day and he keeps his top 3 spot? 2010 is to recent to rate full stop especially for the key positions

What?

Atley's been pretty underwhelming considering his wraps.

Atley's been excellent this year. One of our best and most consistent performers.

Playing as a HBFr with great foundations of a defensive game and can break the lines at great speed. He finds the footy, makes good decisions and his kicking is solid except when running at full tilt (just mechanically doesn't work for him but when stationary/jogging it's fine).

Gonna fill out into a massive unit too.

Might not ever be one of the top mids from this draft but will be one of those invaluable defenders our team will treasure for a long time. Having said that we will probably still see him move into the midfield.

Yeah, I think he's got a lot of ability - just OS seemed to be saying he should be rated around the top 10 at the moment.

Cook has not made his debut in the AFL, Day has. Day has shown some very good moments in games, and just struggles with inconsistency and four quarters of effort at the moment.

From memory you didn't rate Cook particularly highly anyway Offsider?

I rated him an end of first round pick, but if your Recruiters picked him at 12 I would trust them over me hahahaha they would know better. I think he will become a decent player but possibly as a defender.
