Re: Round 18 Trades

nice mpp there mate!! tippet will fire this week but has a tough run home, but its better than nothing hey!
id be scared to be out of trades this week tho, if ur going for league, and your safe in the 8, id prob save them . roo's cheap but he probably wont cover a zero if a prem gets rested.

I'm trading fyfe to roo for my F7 and Tippet to Jolly, leaving me 3 trades and 16k.
Next week i'll do Gysberts to hardingham giving me 2 playing def bench, 1 mid, 2 rucks and 2 forwards. then ill have 90k and 2 trades for finals.

do u guys agree its time to pull the trigger on tippet?

Re: Round 18 Trades

after all the too-ing & fro-ing since the self imposed trade ban, ive bitten the bullet, especially with so many out this week, to sack hille for his cash (i know he's back but his price will plummet) and sack the LTI silvagni - and decided to bring in james kelly. my thinking on kelly is that he's had 2 breaks this year, and with the cats into 'rest the stars' mode i can see kelly stepping up and taking on more onball jobs. he's in form too.

2 trades & $107100 left. i still have barlow on the bench and will use his cash next week to bring in either ablett, or maybe even swan, and then either save the last trade, or sack pods and bring in jono brown, with brisbane having a 'not too difficult' run home.

still playing one short this week, but versus 15th i can afford too.

Re: Round 18 Trades

got 3 trades left, should i bring roo in this week, im 200 bucks short of trading pods for him, which is bloody annoying, so can go any of chappy, pav, ROK, buddy, rokliff for riewoldt.

so it would be rokliff surely? but do i go for it this week or not? do i go for it at all?

Re: Round 18 Trades

Hall or Pods for Riewoldt?

Both are inconsistent, but Pods seemds to only play well at Skilled Stadium...they are playing there once more this year against WCE and that is in the finals.

Pods is out for this week also so i'm tempted to trade him...

3 trades left $148k left in the bank.

Out: H.Shaw (Collingwood)
In: J.Kelly (Geelong)

A great, great trade :thumbsu: I still see plenty of upside with Kelly, given that Geelong's fab four (Chapman, Selwood, Ablett & Bartel) will get rested over the coming weeks.

I'm considering

C.Cornes > Scotland
Pods > Roo

should i do it?

I reckon Broughton is a better choice than Scotland, but just my opinion.

Tossing up between Sewell or Hayes to replace Bartel in my side.

Just remember that Hayes might get more TOG with Montagna & Dal Santo possibly getting rested over the next month.

Having said that, I reckon Sewell's coming good at the right time of the year, especially with the Hawks in form and wanting to finish as high up the ladder as possible (i.e. won't get rested).

I'm just struggling to bring myself to do Silvagni > Moore cash grab. Can just see me trading him in this week and getting the arse next week. Have Webberley as my other benchie.

C'mon guys, fill me with confidence.......please!

Webberly's managed to maintain his spot in the Richmond line-up despite all the ins and outs over the past fortnight, so that gives me hope that he'll be good bench cover for you til the end of the year.

I reckon go for it mate! Especially if it gets you the extra cash to snare a premium come round 20 :D:thumbsu:

Re: Round 18 Trades

I need to offload Grimes for Cash (then 3 trades left $330,000 in bank) and I'm looking for a very cheap rookie defender.

Looks as though no one is in the 1-2 game bracket this week. Any suggestions of potential ins or should I just bite the bullet and get a 84,000 rookie (have webberley on bench)

Andrew Moore (Port) is available this week. Scores of 36, 42. Pending that Davies (Carl) has been named as an EMG for a few weeks and should be close.

I seems we're now inundated with rookie mids after been a drought a few weeks ago.

yeah Moore is pretty expensive though (139,000) which might effect the upgrade I want. Didnt know about Davies so cheers! Might be worth the risk.

Re: Round 18 Trades

trades are awful so dont, but instead........

go back to the B grade finals - at least youll play for 4 more weeks lol

I'm actually considering that. :D

Even if I lose though there is a slim chance I will still wind up in the top 8 depending on results. I'm just going to go for it.

Re: Round 18 Trades

Is anyone concerned about the saints and therefor Roo playing 4 games in a row at etihad?

I'm thinking Dangerfield > Roo and Maguire > enright

Who else have we got in the mids, aside from Hardingham?

Also, any fwd rookies, besides Moore?

Re: Round 18 Trades

My backline is:

hodge, goddard, malceski, gilbee, enright, gilbert, webberley (nason, crameri)

Was going to be Shaw for Webberley, but now who should I choose out of:

Fisher (482), Scotland (450) or Newman (487)????

Or is there a better option around that price?

Re: Round 18 Trades

I have the same problem marky.

I don't really want to follow the line of best averages, I want someone who can pump out a good score 2/3 times.

What has happened with Newman? I notice his scores have dropped off.

It's out of Scotland, Newman, and Enright for me.

Backs will be ; Hodge, Goddard, Waite, Malceski, H. Shaw, Duffield, and xxxxx

Broughton maybe? Although fisher is looking good with Glibert getting the tag most weeks.

Went fyfe>Roo

But also need to think about what to do with Goodwin, is he gone for the season?

have 4 trades left and can't miss the top 4 so thats not an issue.

Also have Shaw, Maguire, pods out this week and still need to replace kruezer but have bench cover in the rucks so not a major issue

Should I go Goodwin>J Kelly this week or just wait and see what happens next week?

I already have Gaj, Selwood, Pods, Enright and not sure about another Geelong player....

I only have 1 carlton player in Judd, and once Webberley goes only Nason will remain as the richmond player on the bench. Im swaying to Scotland which will save me cash for a future upgrade... But Fisher seems to be pumping out some good scores lately and they have a great run home......

I have 317 in the bank

yes kelly is another cat, but as he has had rests during the year, assuming he gets no more, he's an ideal fill in for bartel tomorrow and any other MID geelong rest over the coming weeks.

Re: Round 18 Trades

Gotta go for broke this week to make my SC finals ... will trade Pods to Riewoldt ... not sure who to trade Bartel to:

Cooney or Green or Swallow or Watson ???

Any suggestions? Need someone that should score big this weekend and play all remaining games (bar unforseen injury but I still have Martin on the bench for cover)

Re: Round 18 Trades

Got three trades left for the season.

I have Goodwin and Heath Shaw missing out this week. Luckily I have Phil Davis and Jeromey Webberley covering but im not sure if I should trade Goodwin since im hearing whispers that his season is done.

My other option is to straight swap Rockliff - > Nick Riewoldt.

Am I jumping the gun? Should I just keep Rockliff in my side since hes scoring pretty nicely? :thumbsu:

Re: Round 18 Trades

Goodwin has some mysterious foot issue, talk that he might not even return and has played his last game. I would trade him out if u had him

Im bringing in Riewoldt, who to trade to him is the tough part. i have 5 trades and 60k.
Option 1 is i go Pods stright to Roo
Option 2 is Gysberts to Hardingham (this gives me mid becnh cover) then go Fyfe to Roo

Which option is better?

With 5 trades in hand, I'd probably be going option 2. Pods will be back, and has WC in Rd 22. Bench cover, as I 'm finding out, is going to be crucial, and Hardingham should have decent JS.

Can anybody help me with WTF I should do with my team. Need to win to grab a final's spot, and am playing the top team. My bench coverage is the issue, backs & rucks aside it is woeful. I'd love to get some coverage with my final 2 trades...

2 trades left, 14k in bank.

B: Goddard, Hodge, Enright, Malceski, Gilbert, Waite, Hurn (Roberton & Strijk)
M: Ablett, Montagna, Swan, Dal Santo, Judd, Selwood (Gysberts & Shuey)
R: Sandilands, NicNat (Trengove & Lobbe)
F: Pavlich, Didak, Franklin, Goodes, ROK, Higgins, Pods (TDL & R.Tarrant)

So i'm thinking:

Option 1: (if Hicks gets named) Tarrant > Hicks

If Hicks isn't named, then I'm stuffed. With no other forward rookies available, my only other option would be to go:

Option 2: Shuey > Hardingham; AND Pods > Riewoldt

But then I have zero trades, and zero fwd bench cover.

Anyone see anything else I can do?

Re: Round 18 Trades

I have Goodwin & Maguire out this week but have cover in Shepperd and Webberley. Should i offload both of them for Scotland & Kelly.

I already have Hodge, Goddard, Malceski, Enright, Gilbee. I want Lake but can only get him via a Goodwin trade.

I have 4 trades left. Will Pods play out the rest of the season?

Re: Round 18 Trades

Going Pods to Roo, but can't decide who to upgrade Banner too.

Will have $529,100 to play with and only one trade left for finals, but must win this week in my main competition to make finals (yet coming first in total points....) Have great cover both forward and midfield and have 3 rucks playing atm, so hopefully the one trade will be enough to cover down back.

So anyway, trying to avoid players who might get rested leading up to finals... Watson, Swallow, Lids, Cooney, Priddis, Gilbee, Sewell?

Heart says Watson of course, but head can't decide...
