Hawthorn get rid of 11 players. Anyone keen for Muston? I liked the look of what I saw from him. Worth a rookie spot IMO. Problems with his body though.

Travis Tuck has been cut as well, we were supposedly keen to pick him up a little while ago but he will train with the Hawks in order to get a rookie spot with them.

Really like muston, the injury concerns are a huge worry though, I don't think it would be worth the risk.

I'd go for the other Beau, Dowler. Put him on the rookie list as an emergency tall option.

RYAN Gamble will look for a new home in next month's NAB AFL Draft after Geelong decided to delist the 23-year-old utility.

Gamble, selected with pick 47 in the 2005 draft, played 24 matches in his five seasons at Geelong but could only manage two in 2010.

While the Cats are yet to officially announce their final list changes ahead of the November 18 draft, assistant coach Blake Caracella has confirmed Gamble would be among the departures from Skilled Stadium.

"He'll be going into the draft," Caracella told afl.com.au.

I found it incredible that the Hawks delisted Taylor AND Skipper with Max Bailey the only other ruckman of age and he is constantly injured. If Hale or Renouf goes down they're just gonna be in the same position as they have for most of the last 24 months; they'll be forced to play with only 1 ruckman who is not renowned for being tough or strong.

I wouldn't bother with Gamble. Not enough tackling pressure and not big, quick or clever enough to be a permanent forward, not skillful enough to be a damaging flanker in my eyes.

Good point, hadn't thought about that.

Why the fck do they have to keep screwing with the game? What a stupid rule.

Have heard we are very keen on a young Defender called Seb Tape.

Athletic (Slightly undersized at 190 cm), But very very good one on one and has decent rebound ability.

Has been likened to Craig Bolton.

Any talk of Darling falling to our pick is wishful thinking and way way off the mark.

Interesting to see where starting to see kids in this draft who are swans supporters from the Kelly years:

Ryan wilson
Which AFL team do you support and how did you come to barrack for them?
Sydney Swans - I have been a loyal supporter most of my life. As a kid, I saw them in the '96 grand final and enjoyed watching Paul Kelly.

Reece Conca

Sydney Swans - Paul Kelly was and still is my AFL idol and watching him growing up made me support the Swans and inspired my thirst to play AFL
Given how keen we seemed about Conca at the draft camp wouldnt be surprised if we grab him with our 1st rounder if he is still there by then.

Will Kieran Harper make it to 21, what are everyones thoughts on him?
I'd say if he was available we would take him and there is probably a 40% chance of that happening. Only fault would be his ability to find the ball, but otherwise a great prospect.

Ok been having a look at mock drafts, afl site etc etc and compiled a list of players who are likely to be our 1st and 2nd picks in this draft:
(Used a combination of Snoop's and Knightwheelrqr's descriptions)

1st Rounder:
Reece Conca
Height: 182cm, Weight: 75kg, Age 18
Recruited from: Victoria Park JFC
Profile : 5 games incl a BOG vs Claremont. At champs he averaged 18-20 touches at 80% efficiency. Unobtrusive playing style and draws away from packs well. Great utility who can play midfield, forward or back. Has good 360 degree awareness. If he goes to ground he will get straight back up so quick it can sometimes be frightening
Draft Range: 12 - 30
Why: Simply he's what we want. Great efficency and seems to be of the Sydney mold, team orientated and hard worker. Extensively interview, my first pick if I was available.

Kieran Harper
Height: 187cm, Weight: 78kg, Age18
Recruited from: Eastern Ranges
Profile : blessed with terrific pace and really clean hands. Makes that quick transition from hand to foot Also has a really good ability to read the play and make smart decisions. Executes well both sides. Has had a few injury problems but with Sydney's medical team shouldn't be a worry
Draft Range: 12 - 25
Why: Has the mercurial X factor to turn it on and could provide some spark in the swans forward line. Only knock on him is attitude and knowing our first round selection issues rather go safe option.

Jed Lamb
Height: 182cm, Weight: 77kg, Age 18
Recruited from: Dandenong
Profile : Terrific core strength and is difficult to beat 1:1. He is a one touch player Good at evading, has speed to burn, classy, good overhead, clean, knows where the goals are and probably the best shot on goal from anywhere in this draft, takes pride in it. Can push into the midfield but looks most comfortable as a forward. Has killer disposal scoring 95%+ on kicking test.
Range: 13-27
Why: Clean user of the ball and elite user. What we want and possible to mold into a lethal midfielder/forward who could rotate and be very useful with new rules.

2nd Rounders
Sebastian Tape
Height: 191cm, Weight: 81kg, Age: 18
Recruited From: Glenelg
Profile: Tape is an athletic and agile tall defender who captained SA in the NAB AFL U18 Championships where he averaged almost 12 disposals a game. He shows excelent ball-handing skills both above his head and at ground level. Had a growth spurt at start of year and is possible still growing making him KPB material. Also has leadership capabilities as was SA captain.
Draft Range: 20-50
Why: Simply very good defender who is versatile which is a key quality in the modern game. First choice for 2nd pick.

Warrick Andreoli (WA)
Height: 182cm, Weight: 73kg, Age 18
Recruited from: Ramblers GFA
Why: Very clean and can easily pick up the ball with one hand or on the run seamlessly. Clever in traffic. Has a fair bit of acceleration. A lovely left foot kick. Fair bit to work with here. Fast and strong-bodied midfielder with a strong overhead mark. Averaged 15 disposals at 72 per cent efficiency.
Range: 23-51
Why: Building higher efficency rate and speed in the midfield. Could be anything but fits sydney's needs.

Ryan Lester
Height: 191cm, Weight: 83kg, Age 18
Recruited From: South Fremantle
Profile:Amazingly quick for a player of his size, and capable of playing in defence, forward or even in the midfield. Has a booming and accurate kick and deft hands. Represented Vic Metro at the 2010 NAB AFL U18 Championships, averaging 16 disposals and four marks.
Range: 39-60
Why: Versatile and can be used all over the park. Dare I say it but could possible be smokey of the draft.

Other Possibilities but unlikely:
1st
Jack Darling
Height: 190cm, Weight: 86kg, Age 18
Recruited from: Sacred Heart College
Profile: Standout feature of his game is his 2nd and 3rd efforts along with his quality forward pressure. Reads the play well. Strong mark overhead and has a thumping right foot. Has questions about his attitude. Tackles hard and aggressively. If anything he could eventually become a mid despite having played juniors as a forward.
Range: 4-31
Why: Was a potential 1 draft pick but others have overtaken him. Has issues with attitude which if any club can turn around it's sydney.
Unlikely because: Most obviously he probably won't be around, also may be cautious with 1st rounder. If there at second it'd be a dream.

Matt Watson
Height: 194cm, Weight: 99kg, Age 18
Recruited from: Calder Cannons
Profile: Reads the play well. Strong mark overhead, has a thumping left foot and is a big readymade key position defender who can also play forward. Might get a little exposed on the lead with his slight lack of leg speed . In style really reminds me of Brian Lake with the way he provides good rebound from defence.
Range: 7-31
Why: Elite defender and could be either back or forward, plays well and is a gorilla type defender we don't really have
Unlikely Because: Carlton or Hawthorn would be stupid not to snap him up before us. Then again...

I'd like to see Conca and Tape come to our club and possibly
Lester as a 3rd rounder. It's a very deep draft so whoever we select should be good.

Shannon Rioli is a name i haven't heard on this board, any thoughts possible rookie or late draft pick ? his kicking and speed sounds impressive.

Midfielder/forward who is the brother of former Essendon player Dean Rioli. Is also a cousin of Cyril Rioli. Has exceptional speed and rarely missed a target when kicking. Produced some great performances while playing for South Fremantle in the WAFL in 2010. 74 kgs 173cm and 19 years old.

Just saw that Nathan O'Keefe at North has been delisted. Thoughts on potentially picking him up? He's only 20 years old, and apparently a very strong mark. Possibly falls a bit into that Brad Fisher category, too light to ever play as a true KPF, and trades solely off being an elite mark. The two games he played for North this year were pretty reasonable.

In any case, he can take a contested mark inside 50, which is something we need, especially with Bradshaw not reliable. He would cost us nothing but a draft pick, and wouldn't be taking the place of a kid, as he's just a kid himself. Wouldn't mind a punt with pick 73.

I found it very surprising as I thought he was coming along nicely. This could mean that he has some off-field issues that the club wasn't too happy about?

I was under the impression that they were going to rookie list him, just freeing up space for the draft. Could be wrong.

Judging by comments on the North board, he's a **** of a guy. Still, could be a worthwhile investment.

Even if they are intending that, we could still grab him in the draft.
