Scott Lycett to Brisbane?

Is there a possibility of the trade happening if the Dockers continue to be stubborn and put up worthless trades for Clark? Honestly, I would rather see Clark in an Eagles jumper than a Docker one. :thumbsu:

That being said, what would you give up for Clark? If you want him? And with Lycett in the equation, what would be your trade?

------------------------------------------------------
Read this bio I got of him from http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsartic...4/default.aspx:
Height: 202cm
Weight: 98kg
DOB: 26/09/92
Club: Port Adelaide Magpies (SA)

Kevin Sheehan says: Strong-marking ruckman who is agile and super competitive. Team-oriented player who impressed with South Australia in the under-18 championships.
In his own words
What type of player are you?
Tall, agile and competitive.

Which AFL player do you feel you resemble, and why?
Matthew Kreuzer. He knows where to go around the ground and also go forward and be dangerous.

What are your strengths as a footballer?
Competitiveness, will do anything for the benefit of the team, have a willingness to get better as a person and player, and I want to learn.

What parts of your game would you like to improve?
Goalkicking, my hands in the ruck to palm the ball down to the midfielders, and getting more marks around the ground.

Which AFL team do you support and how did you come to barrack for them?
Brisbane Lions. When I was younger, I used to go for them because they used to win all the time, but now because I admire all of the players. A big influence was my favourite player, Jonathan Brown.

Who has been the biggest influence on your career so far, and why?
Corey Siemers, because I’m doing everything for him, but also my dad. He’s always calling me up checking to see how my footy’s going, because he knows it’s my dream to play in the AFL.
------------------------------------------------------

At this stage I would take Lycett and 23 for Clark and Brisbane's second pick. Your thoughts? :)

Re: Scott Lycett to Brisbane?

Lycett will not be traded! End of story!

He's highly rated at the club, and I'll bet anyone he will end up better than Mitch Clark!

@AFLNewsInsider
AFLNews
Despite some reports West Coast will not trade Scott Lycett. #tradeweek

Can we end this now. You are more likely to get Swift than Lycett. Our club doesnt make stupid decisions such as trading out a very promising first year tall

Re: All things Trade Week

I'd actually take Tom Swift in a trade not going to lie, fresh start could be what both players need.

Do you want us to throw in Shuey to sweeten the deal?

You will be getting a nothing pick if we in fact want him, he is uncontracted, wanting out and has next to zero currency.

Pick 45 at best if we don't intend to use it.

Re: Scott Lycett to Brisbane?

You should use the existing sticky threads rather then come here and make a new thread.

I personally wouldn't do a direct swap of Lycett <-> Clarke let alone 1st pick+Lycett.

Thats because I believe the upside to Lycett is greater than that of Clarke in the timeframe that we need. We need a Cox replacement in 2years and someone that can play forward a fair bit considering we will be usually with 2 ruckmen.

I rate Lycett as a forward and of the view that Lycett has greater forward potential then Clarke.

Not saying Clarke is a bad player but he is superfluous to our immediate needs and would push out one of Lynch or Darling in the team for 2012.

Re: Scott Lycett to Brisbane?

I don't know...... I think Clark could really help us next year, he's quite an improvement on Lynch, he might be the difference between making a Grand Final and not, and when it comes to premierships you sell the farm to win one when you can!

No, no, no!

Where do people come up with this stuff

Re: Scott Lycett to Brisbane?

Never going to happen. Not only would WC not deal him, he's a first year player and from South Australia. As I said, never going to happen.

Re: All things Trade Week

@barrahead
adrian barich
Clark to Freo deal will be for straight picks... unlikely any other players will be involved, tomorrow morning crunch time @barrettdamian

I really don't think WCE is trying to get Clark as much as its being reported. He will go to Freo, whether Brisbane will be happy with what they receive for him is another matter

Re: All things Trade Week

Lycett isnt going anywhere. No team would be stupid enough to give up a developing first year tall. Hopefully he turns out better than Clarke

Re: All things Trade Week

We must see something in Hill that he hasn't produced at the dogs.

Not sure he has the frame to put the required weight on though. We need our forwards to lay strong tackles...is he capable of this?

i don't think we'll be giving up much. hopefully a change of club will be good for him.

with the extra list spot taken up, it doesn't bode well for stevenson's future at wce. i reckon we'll end up offloading him for next to nothing. it's disappointing, the guy has talent.
Hill showed plenty in his first couple of years at the Dogs. Has stagnated the last couple, probably issues with Eade, but he's no spud as far as raw talent, pace and goal kicking goes. Looked like a gun in his first year. Can you remember any Bullies' games when he first started?

Yes, he looked very good. Great overhead. Haven't seen much of him since, though.

Re: All things Trade Week

Lycett is amazing and at training was super impressive at around the same time he got that game for the Eagles.

He is a super mark and a real smooth mover. No way will Eagles let him go.

He is also a tough character and unlikely to feel the need to go home.

There is no doubting his talent, he has a prodigious leap and good hands both overhead and in front of his body. His main downside as a junior when at Trinity was his tendency to be lazy and this was a problem at the Bulldogs. Did you know that he's a first cousin of Ashley Sampi who as you no doubt remember also had that problem.

Re: All things Trade Week

I like Lycett, like everyone, but we overrate the shit out of him here IMO.

If he ends up as good as Clark, I'll be pleasantly surprised. Clark, as a ruckman at least, is ****ing quality. Lycett is an unknown.
