2011 Ladder Predictions - Part 2

Look, after your 8,000 priority picks and spoons, I would have thought the Blues would be better than they are as well, but they look decidely average.

The changing of the guard is here already. The Blues must having been having a piss when their number was called. oh well.

Riiiiight....

That decidedly average list nearly made it to a prelim whilst everyone expected us to be bottom 4...

I can't wait to watch North fans brought back to earth next year...they draft Atley and all of a sudden they think they have the hottest young list in town.

I have heard people say their team almost made it to a grand final, but almost made it to a prelim? That is just sad.

Anyway, didn't you go out week 1?

Better than not making finals amirite? :thumbsu:

Good luck with your top 4 aspirations next year...i'm sure the North club/coach are right behind you on that one

ehh why not

1. collingwood - clearly the best side in '10, fairly young... can't see them falling away
2. bulldogs - have cleared out some older players, which should benefit them
3. st kilda - not confident in the saints next year, as their list is ageing... but still the burning desire will be there
4. carlton - surely the time has come for all those high draft picks to perform.
5. hawthorn - still big gaps in their list, but some truly elite players
6. melbourne - their tanking will begin to really pay off next year
7. sydney - refuse to bottom out, will make up the numbers without really challenging yet again
8. geelong - will suffer greatly with no ablett, and certain players with inflated reputations will be exposed
9. fremantle - overacheived last year, pavlich and sandlilands carry this team but aren't getting younger
10. north - good young talent, still a year or two away
11. adelaide - can't really see any young stars in the making, but always competitive due to their fitness regime
12. gold coast - have the best player in the comp, will do exceed most people's expectations
13. west coast - maybe biased, but with kerr finally back will be vastly better than last year
14. port - new coach will have a lot of work to do
15. richmond - perhaps a bit harsh, just feel they lack experienced leaders
16. essendon - hird has a LOT of work to do. mids seriously lacking apart from watson
17. brisbane - in for a world of pain
Some people really should be banned from making comments on teams they have no idea about. Tippett, Otten, Davis, Sloane, Walker etc not good enough for you?

1. Hawkthorn
2. Collingwood
3. Fremantle
4. Melbourne
5. St Kilda
6. Carlton
7. Bulldogs
8. Sydney

9. Adelaide
10. Geelong
11. West Coast
12. North
13. Port
14. Richmond
15. Essendon
16. Gold Coast
17. Brisneyland

Premier: Collingwood
Runner up: Hawkthorn
Brownlow: Gibbs

Anyone else sick of this North Melbourne/Melbourne circle jerk b.s.?

Alot of other teams have young lists just as young as North Melb/Melb...North making top 4 next year? Are you on drugs?? At the expense of 2 teams who made the 8 incl. Sydney and Carlton.

History would suggest at least a couple of bottom 8 teams will surge up the ladder. And it is very hard to see the Port/WC/Essendon/Richmond/Brisbane grouping do much. Only leaves a few teams, and I could easily see one or all of North/Melb/Adelaide making the eight.

Lots of people would have thought you were on drugs putting Freo in the top 4 last year, yet we almost made it and probably would have if we weren't decimated by injury.

I guess.

Although you did lose week 1, go backwards on 2009 and get a worse draft pick.:thumbsu:

What does the "general consensus" have to do with anything that I haven't said? I have never said that Melbourne are terrible because of players like Bruce, so why are you directing this at me?I have also never at any stage said that he was a "gun," so again, why are you directing this at me? Melbourne clearly wanted to retain him, and in my opinion, they will miss him and his experience. I think he is a good player and a big loss, and I have heard many Melbourne supporters on the radio that were very disappointed that he decided to leave. If you're going to patronise me over an opinion and something that I have never said, then please go right ahead and draw your diagram. Maybe you'll be able to explain yourself clearer that way.

It's very simple.

I've read many times on bigfooty people saying that Melbourne are crap because we rely on older players like Bruce for leadership and experience and now I've read many times that we're now a worse team because he has gone.

The fact that you or have not suggested the former is irrelevant.

If you can't understand the irony of that then perhaps we should end the discussion here

That's actually hilarious coming from a Carlton nuff nuff. You guys have the circle jerk b.s. thing tuned to a fine art since getting Judd.

Seems like you've just cracked the shits because someone doesn't rate your team, have a sook

Melbourne and North are just confident - would do good for a lot of clubs

They are both on the up whether we like it or not - thought I'd prefer it to be Port/Adel

Either way 2011 will be more even than many would like to think and 6-12 will probably be wide open up until the last couple of rounds when it really matters

I'm a Carlton fan we're used to people not rating us...not having a sook at all, just complaining about the circle jerking. I actually think North fans are trying to steal the limelight off Melbourne to be honest..."hey look at us too!!1111111one"

1. St Kilda
2. Geelong
3. Collingwood
4. Sydney
5. Adelaide
6. Gold Coast
7. Fremantle
8. Western Bulldogs

OK, First of all, I think that the Saints will finnally deliver this year and I don't think Geelong are quite yet going to go down without a fight. Collingwood won't live up to expectations and Sydney will get back to full 05-06 form. Adelaide if they get a decent pre season and don't have so many injuries are well placed to get a good placing since securing Jacobs. I know what you're thinking, GOLD COAST!!! BLOODY HELL!!!! But I believe that the AFL have helped them out too much and as a result are top eight contenders, although, if Ablett, Bock and co. get injured then they can kiss that goodbye. Fremantle will continue there good form and Western Bulldogs, who I believe have been clinging on to the top four for a long time and as this time, have just clung on to top eight.

Not sure of bottom eight and don't really care, because, quite frankly, at the end of the day, the finals and wooden spoon contention are all that matter.

Collingwood - Coached well and all players seem to know there role. Eddie wouldn't allow a hangover

Fremantle - Unbeatable at home when all hands on deck and due to win on the road

St Kilda - Maybe one last hurrah for the saints. Getting older.

Hawthorn - With all those good players surely Clarkson get this team into gear. Look out for Jeff if he doesn't.

W.Bulldogs - Will be thereabouts but not a real challenger come September

Geelong - Still have too many good players to slip below this position

Melbourne - No bias here. The time has come

Carlton - Any team with Judd can make the 8 but that’s about it

Adelaide - Will win most games at home but away will cost them a spot in the 8.

Nth Melb - Aren’t good enough let to make it yet. Doesn't matter though no one will miss watching them play.

Sydney - Think the swans will go backwards. New Coach will take time to get into rhythm

Port Adel - Finished the season well and might surprise some people but not good enough to make the 8.

Brisbane - J.Brown will get the lions a few wins that will keep them off bottom spot.

Richmond -Will do better then Suns and that might be an achievement at Punt road

Essendon - Wanted to put them last but even i'm not that cruel.

Gold Coast - Wait a few years before they turn good, but not this year for Suns

Nth Melb - Aren’t good enough let to make it yet. Doesn't matter though no one will miss watching them play.
lol read your first sentence again, it makes no sense. And if we aren't good enough yet then neither are you. Beat you twice last year and had more wins then you so that's a stupid reason unless you put melbourne below us.

Melbourne - No bias here. The time has come

No bias here?

North will be higher than Melb...
Melb people should be happy they are finally not last every year. 2010 should have been like winning the premiership for your poor mob.

Agreed .
Melbourne had the most incredible start to year ever gifted a team last year and boy did it over inflate their stocks.

Had 11 of their first 12 in Victoria, first 7 in Melbourne (6 at the G and one at etihad).
But wait for it...it gets better. here were some of their opponents in that run in the first 7 weeks..RIch, Adel and WC in melb, North..gee some real tuffies there.

To cap it off the one non-victorian game they had in the first 12 was at a nuetral venue.

Let's see how they go with a draw resembling something bordering on fair

Melbourne will be higher then North. Altough if you move to bendigo or ballarat or wherever it is you wanna play, that might be a home ground advantage for you cause an empty stadium at docklands wont help you.

Also it was the last round of the year so who cares.

Are you forgetting a draw and a 1 point loss to be the best team in the comp. How did you go against Collingwood????

lol so you are going to finish higher than us based on crowd attendence...
Wow you are going to be in for a rude awakening next year..
also if you beat us in round22 you would be telling us non stop.Plus we beat you earlier in the year also:thumbsu:

Anyway have fun travelling to the bush every week

No i wouldn't cause it means nothing. Just like beating Essendon

I am unbiased and I think that North should have melbourne covered. Both teams are fairly equal, both with great defense/ midfield but both strugle in the forward line.
