The loss of Johno, Aka and Eagleton.
They weren't any good this year, tho.

Plus your better players are around the 30ish mark next year - Gilbee, Hall, Hahn, Gia, Hargrave, Hudson, Lake, Morris, Murphy are all best their best.
That's the issue, IMHO. (Altho Hahn and Hargrave weren't great players this year)
Playing by averages, two or three of them will drop off markedly.
If it's Hudson and Hall, they're farnarkled.
If it's Murphy and Gia, they could be right.

Same thing happened at Essendon at the end of 2009 with Lloyd and Lucus - both did not have great years. You lose the expereince and off field leadership. Lloyd made other Essendon players walk taller and I think Johno did the same at he dogs. I don't think you can dismiss club legends leaving the club - even if they had a poor final year. I believe Dogs will play finals however it will be around the 6-8 mark.

1- Collingwood
2- Hawks
3- Saints
4- Crows
5-Cats
6-North Melbourne
7- Fremantle
8- Richmond

9- Melbourne- have to wait 1 more year
10- Carlton
From 11th to 17th its even to call but they will struggle to make the 8.

I know about all our old players and stuff but our young players should be ready to step up, some of them and I think we will be around the same place!

I like this one the best, Dogs below Richmond, Melbourne, North etc and too even to call with Brisbane, Gold Coast, West Coast Essendon etc.....wow, just wow.

Lets get this straight...Hawthorn beat one good team and suddenly they are winning the premiership next year? Kidding right? They are still a flip-floppy, inconsistent football club and its 50/50 whether they could win a premiership, they don't have the stability of Geelong to be a powerhouse for the next three years.

And just cause Adelaide won today, suddenly they are top four? You kidding? They are a transformed list and I really respect Craig for ending an era and starting one in the same year, but with a young group comes inconsistency.

With that said...

1. Collingwood
2. Fremantle
3. Geelong
4. Hawthorn
5. St. Kilda
6. Carlton
7. North Melbourne
8. Western Bulldogs

9. Melbourne
10. Adelaide
11. Richmond
12. Sydney
13. Port Adelaide
14. West Coast
15. Gold Coast
16. Essendon
17. Brisbane

Brisbane will get slaughted next year due to old players, discontent players leaving at the end of this season and Brendon Fevola's instability.

Haha, is that what you reackon two years of trouble from a coach that is a 1 man show poney. Until he changed it we will be hungry next year and desperate. I bet ya we will be. Also we will be taking alot into next year a new captain. A new awesome assistant coach in Leon Cameron and you think we will be inconsistent. ???

My Prediction:
1. Collingwood
2. Hawthorn
3. St Kilda
4. Geelong
5. Adelaide
6. Fremantle
7. Western Bulldogs
8. Melbourne

^ I totally agree. Just because Melbourne are going to be slightly less terrible next year doesn't mean they will make the eight. Look at the predicted ladders and try to work out what teams Melbourne will be better than...all of them are in the bottom 8.

haha exactly, i think we will be around the 11-9 mark, maybe winning one or two more games than this season

potentially we could make the 8, but it depends on injuries, especially to key forwards like Petterd, Jurrah, and players like Sylvia and Grimes (and Jamar)

If Jamar goes down we are f*cked

Also will Trengove and Scully, etc suffer second year blues?? How big a step will Watts take??

there are too many variables to argue Melb will finish in the 8

First crack, will change a few times before March

I will do the same - this is very hard, especially considering the drafts are yet to come.

Anyhow, here we go...

Collingwood (At this point, see no reason why not, but anything can happen).
St Kilda (One last lunge at the flag)
Melbourne (surprise package of the season, many improvers in the side)
Geelong (on the slide, but a slow one)
Hawthorn (flashy, but no substance)
Fremantle (yet to be convinced they are the real deal)
Sydney (Always seem to be thereabouts)
Carlton (May sneak in, bulldogs might as well)
--------
Western Bulldogs (sliding like Geelong will in 2012)
Richmond (slowly making their way up to their rightful ninth position)
North Melbourne (too many spuds)
Adelaide (will play well, and crap)
Gold Coast (will win more than some may think)
West Coast (rebuilding)
Essendon (rebuilding)
Port Adelaide (rebuilding)
Brisbane (Voss was a great player, will be sacked as coach)

ST KILDA
COLLINGWOOD
HAWTHORN
GEELONG
CARLTON
BULLDOGS
SYDNEY
MELBOURNE

North melb.
Fremantle
Adelaide
Port Adel.
Gold coast
Richmond
West coast
Brisbane
Essendon

Of all the predictions I've seen, this would by far have to be the most insane.

Melbourne at third place? They're still a bunch of kids, North's list would be almost on pars with them.

Bulldogs 9th? They'll make top four again for sure, next year would probably be their best shot having not to carry Johnson and Eagleton into a final.

Hawthorn 5th? Just because they grabbed David Hale doesn't mean they are going to become a powerhouse, if Hale goes down they're screwed, Skipper and Taylor gone.

West Coast and Essendon above Port and Lions? Essendon are in way more turmoil than Port or Lions, Hird will have a huge challenge next year. Likewise, Andrew Gaff isn't going to take the Eagles to 14th.

Brisbane last and Voss being sacked? We've had enough reform as it is up here, with Collins, Kelly and Bowers gone, there's no way that Voss is going to be sacked, if anything we'll be playing the kids next year and maturing our already young midfield. Rebuilding slowly, but still have some promise.

Insane.

Insane is good in these ladder predictions. There are going to be massive jumps as always. Melbourne could be top 4 and Bulldogs could easily be outside the top 4.

You're insane....... insanely stupid.

That isnt that insane. I reckon bris will be the spooners after loosing your b + f and brennan. Essendon and wce both have better young talent than port and bris but with worse senior players so maybe the poster just expects improvement from the kids in the teams.
