2011 Ladder Predictions

Haven't done one of these in years so I'll give it a crack.

1. Collingwood
2. Western Bulldogs
3. Fremantle
4. Hawthorn
5. Geelong
6. St Kilda
7. Melbourne
8. North Melbourne

13. Essendon
14. Gold Coast
15. Port Adelaide
16. West Coast
17. Brisbane


Keep in mind that this is before finals... I still don't see the bulldogs in the grand final...

Please note that I (like 98% of people) will probably get this wrong but I may as well have a crack. Each team in each group is in no specific order

Black-guaranteed top 4, blue-probable flag contenders, purple-possible flag contenders but could slide, red - young sides that could come into the eight, green-top half of the bottom eight, orange-looks bleak, grey-West Coast

Collingwood - (IMO the only ones guaranteed a top 4 spot)

Sydney - They have a great quality young list who finished 5th in a transition year, I see them pushing for contention
Hawthorn - I am very biased but believe that if our defence holds up (not that it will have to against collingwood since their best tall is Cloke) we can beat anyone

Freo - Great young list, don't see them sliding much
Saints - List is ageing but will still be a force to be reckoned with

North - IMO best of the young lists in the AFL
Adelaide - Good list but could finish anywhere
Melbourne - same as north but i predict them to be a little behind north

Cats - Age will get the better of them but they could very easily surprise me
carlton - Not that bad of a side but others are just better than them
richmond - not yet at the stage where they can contend for the eight
bulldogs - Age, their youngsters are over-rated and their run of good, but not great seasons is over

GC - Will take time to develop and gell but who knows
Bris - sigh
Ess - Hird will be Voss mark II
Port - Will improve but not drastically

WC - still the worst, although essendon, GC, or brisbane may steal their crown ... or spoon.

i said the teams within the groups are in no particular order, so 13-16. Port will improve but others will improve more. Might I also add that Port were the only team in the orange group that i didnt say could finish last?
