I don't know Patty.I reckon RTB & suma will be requesting KPP.

We didn't exactly draft entirely skinny flankers last year.

Neale and sherro are genuine mids.

Crozier and Forster are flankers tho but really I was just kidding.

Hope your right FAL and I'd gladly settle for 2 KPPs and another genuine mid, hopefully KPPs are in the plan.

About Forster, I know he's been injured and he was highly rated. He is also 190-191 cm tall isn't he??
Could he potentially end up a kpd?

I get the feeling he's more of your Roberton type, maybe Mcphee if he really bulked up, I doubt he will be a kpd. But I haven't seen enough of him to know for sure.

I don't think Forster's above 190cm, unless he's had a growth spurt. I remember watching his highlights vid last year and thinking that he moved a little bit like Mudy in traffic... Just looked very composed. Admittedly I saw nothing of him at the Ducks, but by all reports he didn't set the world on fire.

For all this talk about Mitch Brown (who I would definitely take at Fremantle) there is another young KPP down at Geelong who I wouldn't mind us looking at in the draft.

Matthew Sully is a 20 year old KPD, who is one of the few non-AFL listed players in the Geelong VFL side. He stands at an impressive 196cm and 95kg, and has shown some good signs in his first year of VFL. After being overlooked in the draft as an 18 year old, he played country football last year and was considered one of the best country footballers in Victoria. This year, he has been splitting his time between the VFL and country football - it's not always that easy to get a game for an AFL affiliate side. But he did show some good signs, particularly late in the season.

If I had to compare him to anyone, I'd go with fellow Geelong player Harry Taylor. He is a strong mark, and isn't afraid to go back into the packs. For a big man, his disposal is quite impressive and he isn't opposed to trying to take the game on when coming out of the back line.

I never know where mature aged players are likely to go in the draft. The rookie draft seems most likely, but it only takes one team to go early and take him in the third/fourth round of the National Draft. Depending on what we do with Silvagni and Faulks, he could be worth a look at. But unlike those two, he certainly has the size to play down back without a worry.

Forster was out for 7 months though wasn't he with a Spurr on his hip being removed after being drafted. Can imagine he wouldn't show much after missing that much footy and easing back into it.

I just hope that at least one pick is a KPP and one pick is used to get Wilkins. Something like;

Shaw,
Wilkins
Howson

or

Shaw
O'Brien
Wilkins

but having said that I've got much more faith in our recruitment team these days, so I think I'll be happy with whoever they pick.

Far out compo picks are a crock of s***.. Pick 40 for M.Brown would be ideal. Pick 40 + Suban or Ibbo for an upgrade into the low 30's i would do as well

Jaksch, Stringer, Shaw at 17 in that order of want would be nice

Just looking at the AFL Off-season Calender, I see the following dates coming up next week:
  • Oct 23, 5pm - Trade Incentive Rule (17 year olds). Deadline for trading.
  • Oct 26, 2.10pm - Trade Incentive Rule (17 year olds). Selection.
Do these refer to GWS minidraft picks? ie: 23 Oct is last date for GWS to trade any remaining minidraft picks & 26 Oct is date when clubs like Suns & Melbourne officially pick "Martin" & "Hogan".

Have GWS traded all their minidraft picks? If not, are there any outstanding 17 year olds worth putting our foot on?

Also, do the above dates have any bearing on when/whether we can trade the rights to Moeller?

The mini-draft is all sown up. GC get Martin, Demons get Hogan, on Oct. 26th they'll make it official and do the selection.
