The thing that worries me a bit about all the names linked with us is the fact that apart from Lake, none of our other (fringe) players have been mentioned in any way.Would have thought that there would have been a bit of interest in Marko, Grant Sherman Or even Tutt. Not saying they should be traded mind you, just that all the speculation seems to be one way.

Markovic is a vfl battler.

Grants value is super low right now and we'd be nuts to trade him

Sherman can't get a game for a team that lost 12 on the trot to finish the season (or whatever it was).

Ditto with tutt, who's body hasn't yet been able to stand up to afl footy.

Perspective my man.

if people want to see a legitimate video of jed go on bigpondvideo.com and type jed anderson in the search bar. its a 3 minute video. he's a gun. I'd jizz everywhere if we got hogan martin and him or martin him and pick 9

If we get pick 9 then I would be happy if we then tried to make it MD2. After all, the only better 'live' picks on offer would be 7 and 8 once the 'Richmond' deal took place (in fact we could just include MD2 in the Richmond deal and let GWS keep pick 9).

Article which includes an interview with Jack Martin - was tweeted by Emma Quayle:

Jed Anderson and Jack Martin plus pick 9 looks mouthwatering. If this happened and we landed Stringer with 9 just about everyone on here would be happy. Make it happen JMac.
Anderson, Martin, Stringer falling to pick 9, a second round pick (best available) and then Hunter with 46 would be an obscenely good result.

Never knew much about the draftees, heard a lot about stringer, but after hearing about his results at the combine I hope we can get him. Exciting times to come hopefully

How good would it be if the 2012 draft became famous for building the foundation for sustained success for the Bulldogs? I live in hope.

i shivered when i read that. it would be brilliant.

Uhhhh ... too much information. I'm rapidly cooling to the idea of getting Jed Anderson.

can anyone fill me in on this jed anderson guy? how do gws give him to us? do they have the option of keeping him?

Jed + Martin + Pick 9 = love it
Jed + Hogan(we give gws pick 9 for him) + Martin = love it.

it's a win/win for me.
Hell yeah and lets face it i don't mind waiting another 12 months till these guys can play because more than likely we would finish in the bottom four and then potentially get boyd or aish next year, Short term pain for long term gain

Welcome
look back to page 167mark
we posted an entire stat thing about him

I did consider both those players - you'd hardly compare them with Carey though.

Both relatively rangy types.

Carey was a big, barrel chested bastard who tore teams to shreds single handedly.

Much as I love the turtle - those things he wasn't.

I don't know how old you are Cammo or if you had the pleasure of watching KT, but he was every bit as big, as good and as dominant as Carey.

There were two differences between them. Templeton had his career ruined by injury so he wasn't as dominant for as long as Carey was and KT mostly played in a side full of spuds while Carey had a gun side around him to help him out

To bad clubs could not use future draft picks as part of any trade of bidding.

Otherwise, if I were the Bulldogs. I would give up our first round pick in both 2013 and 2014. Plus a third round pick from this year, or more. In addition to a player or two, say Grant, all to GWS. And in return we keep both picks 5 and 6, plus get both mini draft picks. So therefore in a dream scenario, we could get both Martin, Hogan, O'Rourke and Stringer. Two potentially good forwards, and two potentially good outside mids, both in which we need. That would be a massive coup for us, plus GWS get two top 10 picks for the next two years.

Of course it cannot happen, and would never happen even if we could. But one is allowed to fantasize :p

Yep, we would probably still manage to find someone upset at Anderson + Martin + Pick 9 for 5 + 6.

I think the best outcome would be Anderson + Martin + Hogan (which I think is realistic, IF they are happy with the current deal, but for all we know it could just be some bs rumour)

But I would want another first round draft pick for this year if that was the case, but maybe we could get Hogan off GWS without giving up pick 9? I'm sure they would be interested in a Williams or something similar, big bodied player + a 2nd rounder etc.

just a rough trade

Tigers -
Gain: Tyson, Lose: Pick 9 and Nahas
GWS -
Gain: Picks 5 + 6 + 27 + Nahas + Williams (or other similar big bodied experienced player)
Lose: MD#1+2, Anderson, Tyson
WB -
Gain: Martin, Hogan, Anderson, Pick 9 (Macrae/Orourke hopefully)
Lose: Picks 5 + 6 + 27 + Williams (etc)

Win win win really, Tigers get their man and don't give up too much, GWS Get 2 top 10 picks, one top 30 pick which would probably be their last pick in the draft, and two experienced players for only Anderson and Tyson.
We get Martin, a KPF, Anderson and pick 9 while only losing our first 3 picks and an experienced player.

Obviously it would need touching up but hey thats for the people who get paid to do this to do, not for me.

Also Anderson can play AFL next year right? He doesn't have to wait til 2014?

And on Stringer, do people see him becoming our Full Forward or more in the midfield, he definitely looks like he could be a star and I would be all for getting him (would only want one of him or Hogan though, and would probably prefer Hogan)

GWS wouldn't go that deal, they will do much better than that for MD2.

Anderson can play next year.

Stringer will play forward first 3-4 years but eventually his best work will be as a midfielder resting forward. I don't know why you would want Hogan before Stringer though as Stringer can do everything that Hogan can up forward plus has the ability to be a Martin/Dangerfield type midfielder, he is a freak of a footballer and has been from a young age.

Have you even seen them play? Different types.
Hogan is a genuine key forward, Stringer is more your 3rd tall. Stringer is not a key forward.
