In the spirit of this thread I'll make the observation that Port Adelaide have made the most gains in the membership rankings, effortlessly leapfrogging Melbourne, St Kilda with the Cats now in our sights.

On another note it appears that Richmond are only 3000 behind last year's total of 40,000; well done Tigers' fans!

Last years total was 48,000.

More constructively MFC have their family day this weekend, which is a big boost, i think most clubs have already done theirs? might see us pop over 30K with any luck by this time next week, being optomistic.

Not sure of your point.

I'm surprised at the lack of kudos for Gold Coast- they look only about 1K off last year's total already. Like it or not the AFL has a huge amount riding on the expansion into the northern states and continuing membership increases will do a lot for securing the long-term future of our game.

the afl audited no's were just over 40k. the updated no this year is not the audited 2012 no's either.

Why would we make them up? Last year, a running total was updated regularly on our website. This hasn't happened this year for some reason. The 53k total is from a newspaper report iirc.

Theres no point faking it as the numbers are audited and publicly released in club annual reports and by the AFL to media in July.
