Well average crowd will go down which we all recognise but the aggregate will almost certainly go up.
No question, the aggregate will reach record figures again in 2012. Average will go down certainly as well. But I predict that after 2012 with the new teams gaining more support and new and redeveloped stadiums opening, the average crowd will only rise http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=879601 :D

GWS's existence together with GCS will weaken the AFL in the short term. With even more blow outs and predictability this season, tv rating and crowds will drop.
Whilst it is obviously possible that with time these clubs will become worthwhile, it is by no means certain. It is just as easy to believe that the NRL will thrive as a result adopting AFL ideas.

Except for the fact that an average AFL game is often better than a good NRL game ;)

After being a loyal club member for decades, it really grinds my gears being packed in like sardines many weeks at the 'G, or having to sit in the nosebleed seats and casting an eye over to the 1/4 full AFL members wing.

I mostly attend Essendon games and the odd blockbuster there and the AFL members' is usually reasonably full, especially the lower levels. And arguably the newer half of the G is more comfortable/spacious than the southern stand.

But if you really want to sit in the AFL members', buy an AFL membership. Or find a mate with an AFL membership and shell out $40/game for a guest pass.

43,568 as of Jan 20th. That's approx 3,200 up on this time last year. 60,000 is starting to look pretty good. If we beat Collingwood & Geelong In round 1 & 2. Then we could get another 2-3000 members signing up!

What's going on with the Crows? They are usually 45,000 by now
