Re: Player X v Player Y

Whilst I agree with you, it's not as if Pav and Roo aren't durable. Taking aside Roo's 2010 where he got the hammy injury and missed half the season, neither has missed more than three games in a season since 2006

Re: Player X v Player Y

Mumford, J McCarthy, Porps VS Hale, Hampton (or 104k rookie equivelent), Fyfe

IMO i would go Pav and Roo, but that's because i'm not buying the danger hype

Re: Player X v Player Y

The Hale if you're willing to upgrade that ruck position, the Mumford if you're planning on lock and leave. The Hale option is probably better for the early rounds, but I wouldn't want Hale in my side after Bailey returns from injury.

The last two decisions I'm struggling with are Brad Ebert v Chris Masten v John McCarthy (would go with Ebert, but I'd need to downgrade elsewhere to get him) and Sam Darley v Thomas Bugg.

EDIT: I think Bugg just made my decision for me.

Re: Player X v Player Y

boyd. Proven gun. Not sure about second one.

cox + hayes + hargraves vs jacobs + ablett + spurr

Re: Player X v Player Y

Cox and M. Clarke OR McEvoy and B. Lake

Keep in mind I am going the 1 premo ruck & 3 rookie combo

Re: Player X v Player Y

1. Adams over Gia

2. Jacobs/Ablett/Spurr JUST, thats a tough one though.

3. I'm tempted to say McEvoy and Lake

how about...5 prem mids (4 fwd) vs 5 prem forwards (4 mid)?

The points are in the middle and i'm not trusting many rookie mids so I'm a bit torn...love the idea, but leaves 3 rookie forwards....

Re: Player X v Player Y

How much money do you have in the bank? If you absolutely had to make a choice between Masten and Atley I'd go Masten because (other than tonight) has scored really well the whole NAB Cup

He was still pretty good last night, he scored 44 from 55% TOG.

Re: Player X v Player Y

I'd go with the second one, if it was a different player to montagna, there are much better premiums for his price, not worth it in my opinion. Ala Jobe Watson.

So if its between those two, i would go the hayes hargrave one.

I have a few,

Waters vs Malceski

Masten vs Mcarthy vs Caddy

Mumford vs Mcevoy vs Luenberger

Re: Player X v Player Y

Waters, McCarthy and McEvoy I would say.

Bit of a tricky one here that hadn't really entered my mind before yesterday.

Gray vs Zaharakis

Gray vs Zaharakis

Its a real tough one isn't it?

If Gray plays midfield this year and avoids the tag i can see him averaging 90+ fairly easily. If you look at his stats last year, from round 13 onwards he averaged 96 and improved his tackling from an average of 2 from rounds 1-13, to 5.8 from round 13 onwards. A real improvement and obviously this is due to the increased midfield time. My worry with him is what sort of attention he will receive playing mid? I mean i only think Boak is ahead of him for the tag, so he might be 2nd in line, which is a worry. It's a risk that can either pay off well or not.

Zaha is another one, his pre-season hasn't been too flash (except this week), but don't read too much into that. Like Gray when Zaha moved into the midfield last year he improved his output quite substantially. I believe given Essendon have a stronger midfield than Port he won't get as much attention as say Gray, but i think Gray might have a higher ceiling.

Its a tough choice, go which ever one you feel will do better, or if you need the extra cash or want a more unique player, then go with Gray :thumbsu:.

Re: Player X v Player Y

Bugg vs Morris?

Already got Ellis and Darley locked, like many, just need to finalise my last bench spot.. My feeling is Bugg has a slightly better JS? But Morris is a mature age and will prob score similar to Hibberd last year, so quite solid.

Revisit the dilemma after teams are announced.

Josh Caddy v Luke Parker

Ivan Maric v Matthew Kruezer
