Re: Player X v Player Y

Guthrie v smedts?

Guthrie seems more likely to play games and less of the chance to get the vest constantly (Smedts will get the vest a lot I imagine, just look at Geelong's history using it last year). Guthrie probably likely to average more as well...but he is 50K more expensive. But in the end if money isn't as issue then it would be Guthrie for me.

McEvoy or Mumford?

McEvoy is pretty much St. Kilda's only ruck. Sydney have a few like Seaby snapping at Mumford's heels (Plus pinch hitters like Pyke and LRT). I feel Mumford is likely to average a little more, but I feel McEvoy is a much better chance at playing all 22 games compared to Mumford.

Decisions decisions

Mumford definitely has no one at his heels. Pyke and Seaby are miles off

Re: Player X v Player Y

Goodes every day of the week.
Also you don't want to miss out on his 1st round score. It's probably going to be somewhere in the vicinity of 2-3.....thousand.

Re: Player X v Player Y

Am i the only one that doesn't think Goodes will have THAT good of a game?

If i had that cash spare, id just get stevie J...if you already have him...then i'd say Cloke.

Re: Player X v Player Y

1) Deledio, Selwood, SJ, Clay smith

vs

2) Birchall, Swan, Sidebottom, Coniglio

???

Bro as much as its good to ask for advice, first ask yourself which combination will net you more points. Surely you have an idea of how much these players will average for the year.....

Having said that, i would go with option 2.

Obviously i have looked into it pal, but both options have different merits for choosing them, if i wasn't tossing them up and thinking about them i wouldn't post it on the player x vs player y thread.

Maybe give us an insight into what you think those 8 players each will score individually. Also give reasons as to why you think they will score that. Also what are some factors you take into consideration when determining score?

Re: Player X v Player Y

The inevitable radical change that occurs on a Thursday night.

Drop Thompson to a rookie - 3/0/3 structure in mids.

Upgrade Golby, Morris, Clarke to Duffield, Malceski and Waters

Backline now Goddard, Deleds, Broughts, Duff, Mal, Waters, Hardgrave - Ellis, Bugg

A positive move?

Maybe a bit too much money in the back line???

Why would you do that based on 2 team selections?

Yes agree too much coin in the back for me. The greatest strength of the backs is the rookie depth.

Oh no, those changes aren't based on the two teams, just random playing around with a team. Seems to be common on a Thursday night after teams get announced people get jittery haha.

and yeah i doubt this will stay as is, i just can't decide between Waters, Mal and Duffield so thought i'd try get all 3 haha. Think i'll settle on Waters.

Re: Player X v Player Y

Still cant decide on my rucks strategy

Either cox/3 rookies

or kreuzer/minson

Atm has come down to
Swan/Goddard/cox/rookie and 115k vs Mitchell/Broughton/cox/cruizer and 5k
Only problem with above is i feel i lose a bit of flexibility by only having 5 k left say if i need to trade in a booking rookie or out a failed midpricer

Obviously if i choose a less premium ruck then cox say mumford then i could swap either mitchell or broughton with swa/goddard respectively

Re: Player X v Player Y

deledio & masten
or
waters and hayes?

deledio will be my 4th premium back, so i have godo scorers already.
hayes concerns me of being able to score like when he was a premium and if the saints are going to nurse him through the season early

thoughts?

Re: Player X v Player Y

Still convinced Danger is more of a SC player so I would go Porps because he is cheaper.

Bugg or Darley? Would have been Darley but he isn't named. Don't know whether to hold onto him or go with Bugg. Got to admit, Bugg is one I hadn't looked into enough this preseason.
