Re: Player X v Player Y

Selwood and McDonald only because Selwood has shown he is more durable.

Last chance to join our free comp as per below guys, winner of each league gets $200. Cheers.

Re: Player X v Player Y

I got $492,200 to spend on a 4th mid, I got Pendles, Boyd, Ablett, ________, Conig and Shiel

Mainly a choice between Andrew Swallow, Leigh Montagna, Jimmy Bartel.

Goodes and Fyfe are already in my forward line so they don't need mentioning

I'd go Montagna - risky, but if he can return to his 2010 scoring ways, it'll be worth it.

Waters + Montagna + T.Dickson vs. Morris + Murphy + Porplyzia (or T.Dickson + 150K to spend elsewhere).

I like Swallow honestly, although if you can muster $300 more, id go Watson.

Might sound silly but Cotchin is an option. Averaged 95 last year and should push on this year.

Of the ones you mentioned Montagna for risk/reward or Swallow as the safe bet.

Re: Player X v Player Y

Yeah that's why it's so tricky for Mids in the 490k price range because they all score roughly the same so it's a crap shoot basically, I may go Swallow, I had him for the second half of the year last year, love his tackles, I had Montagna the last few years but he really burnt me last year

Re: Player X v Player Y

Mitchell vs GAJ

I have a feeling Mitchell is going to have a ripper season and he won't be chosen as much as GAJ. Should I go Mitchell or is gaz too good to hand up?

They are about the same price.

Easily Ablett. Mitchell is a superstar DTer.. but Ablett is on another level, as well as being slightly underpriced for what he offers.

Watson and Porplyzia vs Dangerfield and Palmer/Masten/Caddy/Parker.

Most likely will go with the 1st option, just curious as to people's opinions.

I am struggling with that exact choice, how on earth do you choose? I have done plenty of research, multiple websites, draw difficulty, pre season form, role, etc It is so hard to separate two guns.

My other is just as tough:

Boyd vs Rockliff vs Thompson

I mean there is definitely some luck involved surely?

The first option is not that hard.

Ablett took about 4 - 6 weeks to settle in the Sun's side last year and after that he went off with a bang. With an improving Sun's outfit this year, he should score better and average back up to his usual. Mitchell is a gun but not the same level as Gaj as far as DT is concerned.

The other option is a little harder.

Thompson has a very easy draw and should do quite well in an improving Adelaide side, or at least that's what history tells us.
Rockliff should improve as a player but may cop more attention this year. In saying that, he is practically a DT god already.
Boyd is a no brainer. As durable as they come and is already in fine form to start the season well.

I would go Boyd only because I think he will be harder to get in at a later stage in the season

Re: Player X v Player Y

Go with Boyd, DT Legend!

A couple of small questions. Have $150,000 left

Upgrade Selwood to Swan? or just wait until after the bye?

Worth also putting Coniglio in (instead of McDonald)? or just keep the cash ready for that first upgrade?

Re: Player X v Player Y

Someone please give me a reasons to pick Cloke over Goodes or visa versa.

Don't people worry about Goodes slowing down a bit as he is turning 33 this year?

And Cloke is the best CHF in the league and should be at his prime this season at the age of 25.

Thoughts? It's doing my head in.

If you already have a captain choice then I wouldn't worry about the upgrade to Swan.

And personally I think McDonald will average similar to Coniglio

Be different and get Cloke, everyone is going Goodes

I would go with Goodes, and upgrade to cloke during the season. Both looked good during the pre season.

Be interesting to see how all the off field cloke to gws talk effects his form now that he wants no contract talks until end of year.
