Averaged just on 100 points when payed as a sole ruck over the last eight or so rounds...and on one leg as we would later come to learn. Impressive as that is our ruck strategy seems pretty up in the air at the moment. Kreuzer and Hampson are both working towards full fitness and Warnock is apparently burning up the track...wait and see.

For fantasy rucks I think what you REALLY want above all else is job security. A guy like, say, Ben McEvoy is not necessarily a SUPERSTAR ruckman, but because he's all the Saints have had they have to play him every week and he plays big minutes. Kreuzer might be fantastic (fingers crossed!) but whilst there's a strong danger of him splitting the ruck role two or even three ways, I think his scoring power is capped.

Only exception to this is really the Cox-NicNat "superstar" combo, or arguably the Hawks' Hale-Roughead setup where they both are competent forwards. Otherwise, you want to find a team's sole hope in the ruck, I reckon. Goldstein. Jacobs. McEvoy. Leuenberger.

yes i concur - come on Jeremias you know you want too! I was very happy beating the scum in the granny last year! Keen on a dt divy 1 as well thanks

If no one else puts their hand up to do it I might have to. Any volunteers?

Is there any need to pick Cachia as a rookie mid?

Wouldn't have thought so. He'd be close to last in line at the club to get a game at the moment.

What do you guys think of Mitch Robinson as a pick? Will he increase his average? Was awesome for me last year.

I think Kamikaze will always like the odd clanger, too, and his kicking might limit his SC scoring ability. He'll sure get he ball, kick goals, lay tackles and play every week, though.

Hey dudes, Marcus Davies $105,600 DEF. Just wondering what the go is there?

From what I've read he's rated well enough, mentioned as a very efficient clean disposer of the ball and generally goes hard, doesn't mind to tackle, etc but has just had injuries. Don't really know much about him myself but was just wondering if anyone here knows how he's tracking at the minute, is he likely to play much under Malthouse, is he even worth looking at for DT, etc?

Thanks.

If you've read that he's a very efficient clean disposer of the ball, either you are reading about the wrong Davies or whatever you are reading isn't particularly knowledgeable - ie. the Herald Sun. :p

Could never question Davies' intent as he always goes in hard at both man and ball, he's a very solidly built individual and he's happy to try use that to his advantage. His 2012 was hindered significantly by injury but he's not a smart footballer and his disposal is below average. He's not known to be a particularly high possession footballer either.

Malthouse may give him opportunities throughout the year as he does have certain traits that will appeal (particularly his build and his aggression) but can't see him playing enough games consecutively to become a worthwhile fantasy selection. I wouldn't bother with him.

Thanks mate, appreciate it.

Was happy with my whole side but literally $200 away from being able to afford one of the ~$108k rookies in my last DEF spot  and noticed him listed at an interesting price just below.

All good though might switch it around to a lower priced rookie in the forward line or something for now considering there aint many options there yet anyway. Well no doubt my side will change 100 more times before round 1 anyway so probably doesn't really matter at all haha.

Hi Guys,

Thoughts on Jarrad Waite as a pick?

Cheers

When he plays he scores very well, however we all know he just doesn't play enough. If he can get a good run at it without injuries he is worth his price.

At the moment I'm thinking with the extra trades he seems like a good risk - can always trade him out when he gets injured. Might wait to see him in NAB cup just to see how he goes under Mick's game plan.

Hi all.
I have been keeping an eye on Kane Lucas for the last few years. Seems to have plenty of potential and sounds like is doing well this pre season.

Do you think he will get many games this year? Great price if he does!

Cheers

Has had a good pre season in the intra club games. Is a supercoach type, gets the ball a lot and in space, generally uses it well. The fear is he won't play 22 games and when he does play games he is a likely sub. Wait for the round 1 teams to see if he is named before locking him in, but I'm sure there will be better and more likely picks around his value.

Thanks mate, will keep watching him but start looking elsewhere :thumbsu:

I think it's fair to say that the only potential rookie picks from us are Graham and O'Keefe at this stage and neither would be odds-on to play more than 10 games.

Reckon Yaz could be worth a sniff in SC though

Would be happy to join a carlton supercoach and dreamteam league. Was apart of the winning 2012 supercoach club board championship. Be nice to be able to help defend the title :) ANy ideas when this will be all setup?
