I just read through this thread and have a few replies. Quoting all would take too long :)

Brock - Yes dominated both intra clubs, This was without Judd or Murph and carrots/gibbs played on the other team. Don't get me wrong I rate him very highly as he almost gave a us a finals birth last year, I just don't think he is worthy of being in your starting sc teams because you should be picking 3-4 Premiums and he should not be compared in the same group as GAJ/Pendles/Beams/Swan/Murph/Judd/Kennedy/Cotch/Lids/Dal/Mitchell/Selwood/Danger... I would pit him up with the likes of Foley/Bartel/Montagna/Kerr so yes as you can see still a good group but a group where you don't know what you will get other then a 100-110 avg at the end (eg Gp1: 110, 130, 120, 143, 124, 150 compared to Gp2:70, 115, 102, 61, 130, 102 & <$100k)

Kreuz - Not when we have a good group of talls that can play ruck, I still think his load will be managed this year to try and get a full year into him. Having said that this will be his best year but just SC wise not as good as Roughy/Ryder/Coz/NicNat/Goldy. Look at Luenberger at a much cheaper price for a similar return as a second ruck.

Duigz/Jamo/Wato - Duigz is leadership group and great player so 100% games if fit. Jamo same deal but FB so his game includes 50% spoils whereas you will find Duigz running with the ball out of def and also going for a few grabs. Watson has dominated but I think our def is Jamo/Duigz/Laidler/Hendo as talls and Touhy/Yaz as smalls, Watson will struggle for game time which I love that we finally have a solid def with depth that can actually play!

Betts - Whoever said garlett will play more in the middle then betts is kidding himself. They are both small fwds and they both win us games when they play in the fwd not in the middle. If anything (and we saw is last year) betts will have a run in the middle, which was evident on sunday with the goal of the round! Don't pick either of them up in your SC just sit back and watch their magic get us to finals!!

Yarran - BAM BAM BAM, Mick's gameplan suit no player better. This bloke at $360k will finish with a 110avg and be your 6th Back come SC finals! Gibbs remains teh best Carlton DEF because he has more run in the middle/fwd area of the ground so goald will be on the stats sheet whereas yaz will be def/mid and just rack up disp and assist's

Rucks- Carlton has 3 very good ruckman, Kreuz/Warnock/Hampson. No1 else will play in this position all year if they remain fit. Hampson goes fwd and takes the grabs, also his kicking is not bad at all! if Waite does not come back then I think he will be our number 1 FF, Warnock has no other talent then his height and Tap work (would be best tap ruckman in the league! great vision!) but I can't see a 3 ruck team sheet so my vote goes to Kreuz/Hamo unless warnock can build on his work rate/agility and kicking.

Hope that is all good for any non carlton supporter. All yu blue boys on here know we are seriously a chance for the flag I am sure!! Bring it on!!!

One LAst thing, Lucas - Kiss goodbye that Vest mate you are starting week in week out! GUN!

Also Carlton SC board, Whats going on with our SC league to go for back to back flags... I was not a part of last year however I thing DIV 1 could use my inclusion? Any chance? Ranked 1,201 last year.

Otherwise I will organise this?? Have all Cralton BigFooty SCers PM me with their rank last year and I can put together Divisions if that is how it works.

I'm not sure how it is gonna work, but I would of thought people who were involved in winning the carlton club board champsionship last year should get an option to go in it again. If people don't want to/to not respond them fill it up with others.

Just my 2 cents.

Carlton Board I have been in talks to Axe in the supercoach thread and He says no1 has organised the Carlton SC league to defend their title... He has asked me to do it. Therefore I need all carlton Supercoaches to PM me asap with:

- Player Name
- 2012 Supercoach Team Name
- 2012 Supercoach Final Overall Ranking

I will probably have a few carlton leagues set up come the start of the year if we get good numbers involved, Will be set up so we each year 6 go up and 6 go down in each league.

PM asap everyone!!

Hey guys, just wondering what your thoughts are about Mitch Robinsons role this year? I'm expecting you guys to be big improvers this year and winning sides usually score plenty of SC points. Robinson strikes me as the kind of player that Malthouse would love in that he's tough as nails and hard at the contest. I think players like him need to step up to give your midfield the depth to beat the top sides, so I'm thinking he should get plenty of opportunity in the middle of the ground and around the ball. Because he's able to be pcked as a forward, if he could raise his average to 100 he'd be a keeper, any thoughts of whether this is possible? Cheers in advance

Check his 2011 scores. Much better than 2012 because of combo of his own injuries and the team's poor form. For me he is a fwd lock.

What were his injuries?
I have been tempted by him, can you convince me some more?
Thanks :):footy:

Played with a broken hand for a month or so and missed multiple games with a calf or thigh injury (one of those). Came back and wasn't quite himself for a couple of weeks too. Preseason has so far been good for him. Loves Mick and Mick loves him. Highest DT scorer for Carlton on Saturday night too. As a FWD he will get you very high midfielder scores.

Will back this strongly. Really is a lock for the FWD at this stage. Stacking the forward line seems to be the way to go at the moment so load up with as much talent as possible.

Thanks for the time you took to reply.
Just on the 'stacking of the forward line', why is it the way to go. Can you elaborate please?
I find the forward line every year difficult, especially with the fading stars like Chappy, Goodes, Pav etc.....
I have Cloke in at the moment but want to get rid of him.:)

Why would he outscore betts? wow you dont know carlton do u?.... Robo is number 1 contested footy, he gets inthere and dishes out to running judd and murph. BTW Robo plays middle and has ability to go fwd and kick couple goals. SC needed to put him FWD because we have so many midfielders as it. Betts is a gun small fwd who kicks those freakish goals and here an there has a run in the middle, same as milne though... do not get him in SC he simple is not one for this game. Robo is a good pick but im with Jeremias, he won't get 100ppg avg this year. Leave him out also. Add some cash to your bank and get the likes of rockliff

From what I've been reading and discovering myself, not a whole lot of "strong rookie options" are in the FWD line this year. So many are just going to fill it with as many premium and mid-price types as they can.

The Backs seem to have many more options for rookies so this is where people are filling such options.

*This is for Dream Team, I have no clue with SC. :p

Would have thought it would be Betts. Why would Robbo out score Betts?

More midfield play, more chances to get the ball, tackle, still is handy to slot in a goal or 2.

Would have thought it would be Betts. Why would Robbo out score Betts?

Betts has never been a scorer, and despite looking to spend more time in the midfield in 2013, I don't expect that to change. Has averaged around 70ppg for the past 3 seasons and I expect to see him average something close to that again this season.

Robinson is a significantly better scorer, having averaged over 90 in the past two seasons. Robbo is one I can see absolutely flourishing under Malthouse and may well be given greater responsibilities on game day. Can't see him averaging below 90 - for mine he's likely to push up to the 95ppg range - but probably won't get to the 100ppg mark.

As long as Robbo doesn't get the tagging role often (stitches up Fletcher everytime we play Essendon) he will be a top 5 FWD if he can improve his consistency just a little.

The one I'm looking at is Hammo for UF - got Giles as my #1 so thinking about putting Hammo up forward for the extra hitouts. Thoughts? Will he play 22 games if fit? My read on it is Kreuz and Warnock fight for the #1 and Hammo slots in at #2...

What has been happening with Scotland this pre season? And what sort of role do we expect for him?

Rumour has it he had a slight hamstring injury during Feb - but I don't recall it being confirmed by club. Anyway, considering he is suspended rounds 1 & 2, Mick has stated that this a chance for Kane Lucas to cement his spot. So I'm not really sure of what will happen come Round 3 when Scotland is free to play. Hasn't played any NAB games either.

I'm a total ****** when it comes to this, so put me in the lowest league.

Did McLeans emergence last year have anything to do with Robbo's decline in scoring or was it the previously mentioned issues only?
Thanks
