Polec wants to go to SA
Brisbane want a player for him
Port might prefer to give a pick.
Involve Freo.

Polec to Port
Port's 2nd round pick to Freo
Clancee Pearce to Brisbane.

Brisbane lose Polec, gain C Pearce
Port lose 2nd round pick, gain Polec
Freo lose C Pearce, gain 2nd round pick

fair?

This would be a good as deal for the Pies.
This isn't even on their page?

Sounds good.

Could also benefit us in another way. Say you trade your current second rounder for Gumbleton and then get another one through the above hypothetical trade, it would allow your to potentially offer it for Yeo and force them into giving up pick 24 of passing on him. :thumbsu:

Here's an idea from Left field...

Collingwood and Sydney trade the Reid brothers.

Collingwood have switched a natural defender forward to support Cloke
Sydney are looking to switch a natural forward back to support Richards. (and now have Buddy/Tippett/Goodes forward)

Why not keep them in their preferred position and swap players.

Won't happen - but it makes sense

There is a huge difference in quality of the players. Ben is an AA chb and sam is average..

The thing is Sam played all his junior footy down back and Ben was a forward. Ben was drafted to Collingwood as a CHF struggled and was tried down back because of injury in 2010 and has held his spot ever since
Sam cemented his spot within a year

Sam was a premiership CHF at 20
Being a premiership player is often about being at the right club at the right time. It doesn't in any way bring him closer to Ben as an individual player. Jonathon Simpkin just became a premiership player but it doesn't bring his rating up much for me.

Sam looked impressive, he should be the very good player, but his best isn't anywhere near Ben's yet and I doubt he will equal Ben's year next year or many other KPFs who were AA Coleman medal it's etc at 22.

Sam was our main target up forward in a premiership his stats dont do him any justice but he just presents time and time again

Again, that doesnt mean anything. Lynch presents time and time again, does that make him a great player? His stats reflect how effective he was, being able to "present" well doesnt suddenly make him a great player.

He's a good player but isnt anywhere near his brother...yet

Sam Reid - there's nothing 'trade hypothetical' about it, he's not going anywhere. Move on.

Now, the big question is how do Sydney get up the draft order considering Reid is off the table?

What would Collingwood accept for (what will be) pick 11? Jesse White and Nick Smith? Lamb, probably someone much more established I'd guess but I honestly don't know? Any credible ideas? I'm certain it's what Sydney should be aiming for though...

Because after that I'd be looking at picks 11 & 16 for pick 9 off GWS, which gives GWS three picks in the 1st round, should allow them to let Mumford go for (what will be) pick 22.

Swans would be left with picks 9, 22 and probably 35 (presuming Dal Santo goes as a free agent) in the first two rounds.

I think it would be really difficult to get pick 11 (Daisy compo pick) from the pies unless an A-grader or young gun was offered and I don't think Sydney will be looking to sell the farm for it. Jesse White and Nick Smith wont get you near pick 11

My theory is blown out of the water now anyway, that pick from GWS for Mumford shows the Swans aren't in the driving seat this trade period. Throw in the pick 40 were expecting from Collingwood and that leaves us with a whole bunch around that 30 - 40 which we'd be unlikely to be able to package up to get higher up the order

A last minute 3 way trade?

Saints get Longer, Ports pick 52
Lions get Renouf, Saints pick 25
Port get Rhys Stanley, Lions pick 63

Very good deal for Port ... :D

Sydney must settle Lamb (hopefully 29) and Everitt (hopefully 32/33 can't remeber what Carlton have left) quickly now and get those picks bundled up ASAP. Either that or take pick upgrades off Carlton - trade 15 + 44 for 12 + 32/33

Essendon - trade 32/33 + 35 for 25
Adelaide - trade 29 + 39 for 23

It's a poor draft to be holding countless late 2nd and 3rd rounders, one hour to make it happen.

....Lions need to do the same, they could quite easily end up with 3 or more first rounders if they're smart
