Im not a fan of Daisy, what does he bring to our team that someone like Winderlich, Stanton Zaka don't bring to our side?

But what does he bring to our side that we don't already have on our list? I wouldn't be paying massive overs for a player who wouldnt be in our top 5 players (Watson, Carlisle, Ryder, BJ, Stanton, Pig)

He'd be as good if not better than the bolded.

Let's be serious here, Thomas at his best is an elite footballer, and I don't say that lightly, I can't stand the guy.

He's a better player than the three above and I'm massive fans of all of them, especially Zaka. Zaka is that one fast, creative mid we have, we don't have another. Stanton is more of a link up player, slow carrier than explosive destroyer like a Zaharakis or Daisy. Winderlich is obviously a vital part of the side, but having only really strung one good season together in 2009, you can't really see him having a massive impact on a Premiership tilt. Consider how injury prone he is.

Daisy is that one more explosive mid we are lacking, Zaka can't do it on his own and apart from him we dont have that pure attacking mid.

We obviously won't be able to afford him, but **** he'd be perfect.

I doubt we'd give up much. What would you want?

What about your third or fourth pick around 40-50 and Michael Talia? Then we can have the Talia brothers playing together down back, but I very much doubt that would happen so your second pick at like 23?

Definitely not. Talia is untouchable.
Second round pick is way too high as well. He's only played 29 games since being drafted 5 years ago, and hasn't really done anything to improve on where he was drafted (pick 28). I'd offer 3rd round pick at the very most. Preferably less.

you think pick 23 for mackernan is even a remotely sensible suggestion?

He's a bit of a spud but I doubt we'd take something around 40 which would be their next pick unless they can get something in the middle. He's shown this year he can play as a second or third ruck and has great hands and is quite mobile but just hasn't got that wow factor even like a Casboult, Stringer or even Jenkins for us Crows.

Talia I think is untouchable pretty much but was only a suggestion, but I looked at the SA players on the dogs list and none seem either good enough or they're not going anywhere like Griffen, Minson and Cooney

mackernan has shown nothing at afl level. i had him pegged pre-draft as a nice prospect. will likely attract interest from suitors as a ready to play tall longshot, but not at a high price.

He hasn't been great but has potential still, we wouldn't let him go for anything less than 40 in my opinion or at least a player in a similar situation not a constant 21 player

i reckon you would take 40 for him in a heartbeat if he asked to go. although with 3 activated compo picks 3rd round starts at pick 40 , and more free agent compo picks to come their 3rd round will come around 44-50. if the dogs wanted mackernan they could swap for christian howard i reckon... dont know how highly he is rated but hasnt really established himself in the afl and wouldnt be a rush for his services so kinda two players in the same boat.

Yeah I seen he was from SA but we don't need a small forward/mid type on the cusp of our team we have plenty of those in the SANFL, and that's the reason why we wouldn't take pick 40 simply because of compo picks and priority and so on...

We need more talls at both ends though

What do carlton fans want for warnock?

Preferably a ready to go key forward/defender (decent mark, consistent kick upgrade over Casboult/Hampson) - or alternatively what SpaceCow suggests, a second and a pick upgrade.

I realize we may not get that in a straight up trade but I see either of Warnock/Hampson as being the linchpin in our trading efforts to get that key forward/back that we need moving forward. Depends on what else would be involved.

Talk about McDonald as a second rounder is as delsional as Daniher as a second rounder
This from the 2013 phantom draft. Chris has a good handle on the next draft.

"I was going to mention this at some point. I'm not convinced that North will be forced to use their first pick on McDonald. Obviously, the closer to the bottom they finish, the more likely he slips through to their second round pick. But I don't consider him a clear step above the likes of Kelly, Lennon and Crouch. And I'd have him below the top guys in Boyd, Aish and Scharenberg. He looks to be one of a number of players who would be rated anywhere from 5-10ish. My post-Championhips update will likely feature him in the second round."

I respect Chris, but due to the fact that you'll finish ahead of Brisbane, Bulldogs, Melbourne and GWS at least, I think you'll find that teams will bid on him just so you use your first round pick, much like Daniher.

Brisbane? We play them in 3 weeks - if they beat us I think they will finish in front of us. Much easier draw. A recruiter would really be rolling the dice using a top 4 pick on a 5-10 player. It is similar to Viney with Gws not using a top 3 pick on the 6th ranked player. This is not a cert - either way.

The difference is is that Daniher could have easily been pick one. You guys had 9 other clubs bidding on him.

We could finish bottom 4-5 on exposed form, in all likelihood there are 4-5 better prospects than Luke this year.
