People who believe that GWS will actually trade the #1 Pick must also believe that the moon is made of cheese, Lleyton Hewitt is a good bloke and that Ian Thorpe is straight.

As has been mentioned earlier - it's all a smoke screen to have clubs pile over eachother with offers and cause their lists/the market to be unsettled.

Pick 15-20 odd. Genuine monster ruckman who's starting to show an ability to dominate. No way we'll trade him though. Trent West would be on the table for the right amoung I'd think. Maybe pick 30 odd?
Trent West for our second rounder would be a good fit for us

Warnock + pick 3-4 for picks 1 and 10- are you serious? Warnock! Warnock would be worth GWS' 3rd rounder, not Tom Boyd.
Yeah realised this as I was posting.

My point was that if GWS do orchestrate a trade for Boyd that sees them get back a top 10 pick, I'd be keen for the dogs to try to trade our pick 3 or 4 for the 2 picks inside 10.

Think it works out for both parties. GWS get the 1 top quality kid they want (read Billings somewhere) & the dogs get 2 quality players we desperately need.

I realise thats Warnocks strength but what I mean an unknown quantity no one has ever backed him for a long period of time to be able to ever blossom etc Sandilands & Kreuzer being picked ahead of him. Just think some Carlton fans are deluded thinking that Hampson & Warnock are better than Giles. Giles kicked 4 today aswell & has always shown ability to take a grab up forward & around the ground in he's 2 seasons at GWS.
They can play a bit.

Warnock beat Ryder and Hille in the finals with just Setanta backing him up.

Who is Giles?

Hampson smashed Giles last year with 31 hitouts and three goals to get the votes.

Giles is no second year ruck like Longer. He's a 25 year old who was on Port's list.

What position does he play?
Been thrown around everywhere this year CHF, CHB and ruck. I believe ruck/resting forward is his best position but he seems to be behind McEvoy and Hickey and in the forward line Roo, Lee and Maister.
Also with the Saints lack of hight he has been used predominantly down back trying to turn him into a key back but he seems a bit lost, mind you he has only played about 10 games as a backman so there is still hope

It's hard moving players from clubs and not sure on your salary cap situation but we have plenty but have you spoken with him recently?. I would call his manager and ask whether he will be interested in a front loading contract at $500k/ 5yr and come back to his home state & have the opportunity playing in front of 80k screaming fans at the MCG almost every second week. Reckon his manager will think about it?
Apparently not, he's interested in playing for a successful club.

Come on guys, play the ball (post for those of you playing at home) not the man (with insurmountable amounts of rubbish not even addressing the post) otherwise Chris25 or Colin D'Cops might swing the axe and send you back to the reserves for the week (a red card for those of you again playing at home).

I would be interested in Leroy Jetta. He's the type of player we need and with a change in scenary and a bit of a kick up the arse I think he'd have a lot to offer as a specialist tackling, crumbing small forward.

He isn't a crumbing forward though, we have tried him there. He actually is playing very well (yes in the VFL) basically as a rover/inside-outside mid. I would hope he goes to a club where he can use those skills. He actually is a very poor small forward as he isn't THAT quick.

prepare for disappointment, he is, as mentioned above, best utilized in the middle where he can use his lateral quickness to navigate traffic and usually beautiful disposal to hit lead up targets.

Certainly not a small forward, never has been, never will be. that being said I think he still has decent value, If we found a fringe type player at another club, then I think an equitable swap could be arranged.

This.

The risk with Jetta will be...will he ever have the tank to play in the middle at AFL level? If the answer to that is no, then look elsewhere, becuase if you plan on him being a small forward...well lets just say he is ordinary at it.

You guys are doing this whole BF trading thing wrong. :p

It goes more like I'll give you this shiny new and improved Robin Nahas who would be a gun if given more chances for that dusty, broken down hack Jake Carlisle.

it's a shame Nason still isn't at the club, we could have packaged them both up and used them as gargoyles atop the new gates out at tulla :D

He's back playing SANFL reserves where we got him from. Not sure if kid has ever played state league seniors. :p

Luke Parker is awesome and, as usual, Swans have handled it beautifully. Gently giving him more game time. If they'd held him out this year he would have got his nose out of joint and thought about moving - instead he's signing up and staying put. Ripping young player. Touuuuuuuugh.

That extra 9.8% really helps keep the young talent doesn't it.
