Typical shit from Melbourne board posters. It's all mids mids mids for months now but when it's crunch time you guys wanna hold onto shit picks.

Vince would be an automatic selection in our midfield. Do you guys realize how shit we are? We need to take what we can get.

I'd be happy if we drafted zero players this year. We are going to finish bottom four again next year and we can draft some more talent then. Right now we need to not get beaten by 100 points every week because another year like this one and it's all over.

If we're going to trade someone in, they'll need to be better and younger than Vince. Yes he'd be an automatic start in our midfield, but just about anyone at any other club would be. If we're going to trade something worthwhile (ie pick #20), then let's get a little more value for it. If not, chance the arm on Zak Jones, Dunstan, blah blah blah and the other mids that have been bandied about in the draft thread.

To me, what's daft is throwing away a decent pick on a 2 year player. Let's see if the new blokes in charge can turn our draft form around.

People talk like 28 years old = wheelchair and nursing home. Hardly, the next 3 years are probably the most critical in the club's history, we need to plug gaps with proven commodities and Vince is one of these. What makes you think pick 20 will solve any problems? It's just a pick - it could be used on a star but MUCH more likely it will be used on a foot soldier at best and at worst another VFL-standard player.

Is #20 going to get Vince & Lyon?

The reason I ask is that I think Vince by himself for #20 is probably slight overs but with another young ball winning mid in Lyon it favours us. Both would obviously be a benefit to us.

Is this too much to give up to get back into the early picks of the 2nd round? In a normal yr you probably don't entertain this deal but with the draft sanctions & wanting of an earlier pick perhaps you will?

I'd like to think our new coach would be able to stop those 100 point thrashings with our current list. If we are going to be trading away our future I'd like to see major improvement.

I'd love if this happened, but I don't think it would. However, I would do Vince for #20. You know what you get, it's not like you're taking a risk and having expectations on him, because he is 28. But 28 years old = experienced, and that's exactly what we need.

I say get him in that red and blue coloured clothing, it'll look great on him.

Freo fans seem to think that Mellington is worth a 3rd rnd pick & Michie either a 3rd or 4th rnd pick.

Mellington is contracted & Michie uncontracted.

With that in mind, should we offer our 3rd rnd pick for both?
Or perhaps our Sylvia compo pick(hopefully early 2nd round) for both with Freo 2nd rnd pick coming back our way too?

Sorry for intruding. I would just like to point out that the meeting between Bernie and the MFC was initiated by the MFC. The AFC was not shopping Bernie around.

If this all came to fruition we'd have a midfield consisting of N. Jones, Vince, Cross, Trengove, Viney, Tyson, Crouch, Toumpas, Michie in 2014. (I've tried to list them from best to worst)

Of course most of this probs won't happen and it's purely based on speculation in the media, but it's not too far fetched!!!

About as likely as Vince and Lyons being swapped for Toumpas and #2. As much as the AFL would like to think of us as one, we are not going to gift to the poor (or in Sydney's case the rich) every season.

I wouldn't be happy about it, but 20 for Vince is not far off. The problem is, is that it becomes 22-24 after FA potentially.

Lyons himself has shown enough in class, craft, clearance ability to be worthy of a low-mid 20's pick in itself.

Vince is a guaranteed performer, he has class, two wonderful pegs and game-breaking ability. Pick 20 is shot in the dark.

A package deal would be our best way forward, whether it's for 2 or not, I don't have the answers as to how it may or may not get done, unless JToump or Trengove is a part of it, picks is all you have to offer.

Not sure what Ralphy is smoking there (but I want some). Having a look at his twitter I think it was some fan that presented the idea to him rather than any "inside" word.

As for Facebook, I don't belong to any of the rumour fan pages, and I instantly disregard any of the rumours from there that make it to this board. Clearly run by some kids on their school holidays after a bit of attention and succeeding too might I add with the amount of people rehashing their rubbish.

What sort of compensation pick are you expecting for the Nissan Silvia?

Because IMO - pick 20 isn't enough to get Vince across the line and pick 2 isn't even close, so no point in discussing it.

Would you be expecting a band 2 (end of first round) or a band 3 (after your 2nd round pick)

How about - pick 19 and pick 20 for Vince and Henderson? Collectively that may get the deal done.
