Well just a horrible performance by us. Wellingham pulling out from backing into that contest and darling dropping that sitter and giving away that early 50 some notable embarrassments. I'm glad the better team won and the umpires never had any real impact. Too good by far on the day the Hawks so well done and I blame Freo for not knocking them out in the home final but at least Freo gave a better showing than us in their 2013 granny.
Bad luck mate, enjoyed your banter and posts on the SC board a lot this year and am genuinely disappointed for you today. They were the better team on the day as they have been all too often.

Interesting piece of information: While it is now well known 2015 was the hottest Grand Final on record, it is perhaps less well known it was also the dullest #grandfinalfacts

Congrats to Hawthorn etc, it's a legitimately great achievement. But even if I was one of their fans, I can't see me watching this one again.

Clarko in his press conference made mention that winning the flag means at least 10 clubs have a jump on them as far as pre season for next year goes... He is ruthless ! He's just won three in a row and he's thinking about making sure other clubs don't have even the slightest edge on his team next year... That's why they're so good!

Points for the Fawlty Towers reference.

The hawks deserve this. They have been clearly the best side in the past 5 years and to win what 4 flags in the time is a mighty effort. All credit to them. Alistair Clarkson deserves a lot of credit, he built this footy team and it looks like there window wont close while he is in charge. On WC, great year, maybe this will fire them up for next year.

since about halfway through the first qtr, i spent the rest of the afternoon eagerly awaiting which of the players might not shake the kids hand. hodgey didn't, but at the same time he didn't leave the kid hanging like puopolo/hale.

tough day at the office for JK, though he did hand one off in the last quarter. darling and shuey will want to redeem themselves.

didn't want hawthorn to win, but you have to hand it to them. regardless of where they fit in the anals of time, they are just a great side who get the job done and a very good chance to take it home next year too.

Will they get the four-play I wonder........

Or as Bruce would prefer to imagine it, with poppy, Cyril, And hodgey, back to back to back to back....

Nice one. I've been trying to think of what the next would be called. Here's hoping it happens.

Umm lol missing an extra n in that, otherwise................... oh boy woweeeee

He was good early - but unsighted after quarter time. The game is four quarters long. His team mates were working hard while he was standing still in a forward pocket for half the game. One of the laziest footballers in the modern era. Happy to coast by on his talent

Finally we've discovered the main source of Australia's salinity problem.

Well that was an ordinary game.

West Coast had plenty of opportunities - as did both the losing sides last week - we just didn't grab them.

I don't think the Hawks were even that good today, we were just horrible.

But absolutely full credit to Hawthorn. Clearly the better team and deserved the win. A 3 peat is a good reflection of their dominance. It's hard to see it coming to an end any time soon.

I think we'll be better for that taste, though. Did really well to even make the GF, but it was disappointing to see such an underwhelming performance on the big stage after coming so far.

Good to see a lot of Hawks supporters on here being gracious in victory, too.

Gratz on the win.
