They used the comp they got for him to get a young kid who will probably be a gun in a few years.

I'm not saying they're good because of FA. They're good because they've been excellent in all aspects - list management, recruitment, coaching, administration. They did all that without FA and they recruited some great players without FA existing. But I think FA will ensure they never slide. That natural equalization system the AFL tried to cultivate with the draft has been eroded because of it. Clubs will develop players for several years, only for them to walk to Hawthorn in search of premiership success.

Meh

People were saying that about Geelong not long ago.

They'll drop off

As badly as we have been ......we can still win the game

My goodness this has been woeful ...but hey I'm optimistic we can still win the game

Hawks are playing really well but until the AFL regulates ground sizes it will always be a second rate competition.

Yet you enjoy having an odd sized ground to give you an advantage at home. I agree with you though. It should be the MCG shape.

Priddis reminding me why I don't rate him as a Champion of the game - dinky 1 metre handballs and can't kick.

Eagles a slim chance but would need to kick 4 goals in this qtr I think.

Thread summary to save you reading another 200 pages:

The posts from here on will contain one of the following:
  • Eagles are shit, worst GF side since 2007
  • **** me, Frawley is going to be a premiership player
  • West Coast can't win without umpires
  • Bruce will orgasm over either Hodge or Rioli
  • Will they beat 119?
There's the rest of your afternoon back. Now go outside.

That was simply frightening in the first part of the second quarter. Clarkson is a genius no doubt, whether or not they learnt something from how North played last week is disputed but to see a team turn it on like that is just scary. I know the Weagles would have been nervous given most had never played in the big game bar Ellis and Wellingham I think so I am sure their second half will be much improved.

Stangely, fore all Hawks dominance, WC are only 5 goals down. That's nothing with a half left, in this heat.
The interchange count is interesting, Eagles with a lot more in reserve.
That was actually one of the first things I thought.....Eagles well aware of the heat, used to it, and just trying to "get thru" the first half close as possible, and can then come home with a wet sail as the Hawks fatigue, drop off....especially as the Hawks have expended a lot more energy than the Eagles.

First 10 mins of the 3rd crucial. Eagles are cleaning up their ball use, if they do get back within 15 or so i can see them shitting them selves again though
