Just that one of the guys we were looking at (and I assume one of the interviewees) had done his knee, and that if he was still at our pick, his upside would mean we would probably get him. But as you know, I literally know none of the kids so I'm not much help. That's why I'm leaning on those who know.Welcome to the club.... Sam Skinner!!!
and that if he was still at our pick
Not sure, I guess any of them?!? I don't know where he is supposed to go? Others would know more.Which of our picks?
I do like the sound of Skinner - someone posted a good article about him
No one noticed the sneaky post on himWould love to get Sam Skinner.....
This is good news, I've been into him as a high risk high reward prospect for a while. 20/21 would be too high but I'd be happy with him at 30 if the club think his injuries won't be an issue. 51 would be a steal. Not sure, I guess any of them?!? I don't know where he is supposed to go? Others would know more.
Do you mean Ryan Clarke? His ACL injury will make him slide, but in a shallow draft (that's been mentioned two or eleven hundred times) his upside will probably put him in the 30-50 range anyway. After a bit of research, I came up with this sort of wish list of the 4 players we will draft that I feel will be available or be taken around those picks. As we have 2 in a row I picked 4 players in order, aiming for 50% here as I don't think all 4 would be taken.
1&2- Riley Bonner, Ben McKay, Justin Clarke, Darcy Tucker
3 - Marcus Adams/Sam Skinner/KPD pick here
4 - Gach Nyuon (would love to get him as late as that pick will be, although Essendon or GWS need a ruck just as much so could take him)
Rookie picks that would be handy would be another ruck (Goetz?) & Surman (man-child KPD but will probably be taken in the main draft)
Do you mean Ryan Clarke?
This one? To subtle for big footyWould love to get Sam Skinner.....
Sam Skinner is a relentless key position player with leadership qualities & can actually use the ball effectively
I'd be worried a side like Fremantle picks him up (but they could do with a more ready made KPP)
if we get Ben McKay, Sam Skinner, Marcus Adams at our first three picks & possibly Nyuon at the rookie draft, that should be plenty of tall depth
Dalrymple can take any type of player he wants after that ..(I know, I know. Be careful what you wish for)
Every time he makes a mistake on the field...Sam (Seymour) Skinner dibs on the potential nickname, i look
forward to yelling it out when he does good or bad things that
is if we get him.
Is Skinner over his ACL or is he still rehabbing
Is also quite versatile; play him there from day one and you could have a decent forward/ruck from what I saw last year. Definitely ticks a lot of boxes.Skinner did his ACL around June, he's probably still another 6 months away before he's right to play.
Hardly surprising we are after him. His Character would rate highly and football smarts seems to be a requirement which he has. Not to mention he has good athleticism, can win the ball in a contested situation and has good upside.
If we are really set in replacing like for like - there's this kid called Toby McLean that goes very very well.Would love Hardwick as Dickson replacement still, has that nose for goals and ability to mark and shake tackles. Great small forward skill set.
Yeah that's my preference too. One thing in common between all three is versatility. All have played both back and forward and can be genuine swingmen.Would love to grab all of Ben Mckay, Adams and Skinner. One ready to go, two with a really high upside. Develop two in defense and the other at CHF.
Pannalstaroz did you get the feeling that the strategy is to get one of 3-4 KPDs "of interest" and then go genuine best available elsewhere? Or the priority is tall players throughout the draft?
