Hodge will play. 2012 he played coming back from injury - I actually think he was ok fitness wise going in it's just that he's nearly always terrible first game back after a break. I actually would worry less about him this week even if he is slightly injured because he played the game out last week.

It's forecast to be 32 now??

Was 26 originally and has been jumping up 2 degrees every day. Will be 40 degrees by game day at this rate!

The BOM website still says 28 degrees and with most of the heat hitting early arvo it shouldn't be that big a deal by the opening bounce and later in the game.

I reckon the week after playing in the heat or a wet slog is when it hits players. At the time they should be relatively fresh and well hydrated going in. Replenishing energy and stored water in the body during recovery is the issue. But no next week unless we draw so shouldn't be an issue.

Hopefully the Melbourne weather lives up to its reputation, wait a few minutes and you will get a different forecast, by tomorrow the forecast will be 18 degrees and wet.
Seriously all the media scribes have us not coping with the Heat and how it will affect us.

Looked to be a knock on/around his knee. Might've been a cork. Which would've allowed him to run out the game after a bit of work but once he stopped moving it would've seized up a bit. Will probably take it easy this week and get lots of physio. Won't miss. May end up playing a lot of time across half back and half forward which is far from a bad thing going on past experiences.

2012 his knee ligaments were quite damaged. Bit different from a corkie or hamstring complaint.

And apparently Gunston didn't train with main group either
Did a fitness test yesterday. They're now waiting until Thursday to see how he recovers from that. If he hasn't pulled up well he'll likely be confirmed as out and if he does pull up well then he'll under go another fitness test and the final call will be made Friday/Saturday morning depending on how he pulls up from that one.

I believe it was in the Fagan injury report video regarding Gunston on the Hawks website. Might've been elsewhere.

Yeah that's the other thing, set up for a mark at left half back say and then have Gibbo steam past for a release kick out to the right wing. You can do that at the G with the extra space while you can't at Subiaco.

Rather then breaking the lines running straight at goal one has to quickly change direction (or hit the fat side). However you can run to the fat side and get the "web" moving to where they believe the ball is going and simply kick across the body and hit up a free forward standing still.

Bit like the kick in from a point, everyone runs to where they believe the ball will go, stand still and find yourself in the open.

Training on Tuesday, chill. Only early in the week. Hopefully Eagles read into Gunston, Smith & Hodge training away from main group

I'd be only looking at weather conditions come Thursday. It's extremely difficult to predict weather conditions for anything more than two or three days away.

As for our gracious leader, he will be fine

What are the odds of Hale being dropped to make way for Gunston and Roughy pinch hitting in the ruck with McEvoy. Rough hasnt been doing a lot up front in recent weeks and is doing most of his good work on the ball so I dont see this as a problem. Plus neither he, Hale or Mcevoy are going to beat Naitanui in the ruck. Thus way we get Shoey Gunston Rough as 3 tall towers up fwd with Shoey able to play back in a "break glass in case of emergency" role. We also get to keep all three of our gazelles running through the midfield with Billy coming on as sub. Thoughts?

I'm very confident about this...

Last year I wasn't...this year I am.

Nervous but confident.

This is going to be epic if we win.

I Like your confidence. I was more confident last year when everyone had us a clear underdog. I hate the favourite tag going into the Grand Final.

One thing I am extremely happy about, Razor Ray will not be adjudicating on Saturday, yipeeeeeeeeee..................................... my nerves have eased a bit.

I think I will be a wreck come Saturday, may have to make it an extra Long weekend:D
