Some decent swimmers in there. Hilly needs to lengthen his right arm though - making his left do all the work as usual.

But that's a horrible tagline...

The players versed state versus state...

Ross on SEN's Crunch Time Saturday Morning.

Interesting that they didn't put a loose man back immediately, because they wanted to see what all the defenders were doing individually.
Also sounds like Gu will be brought in soon. MDB also.

Nowhere to hide these days behind the stats available to the coach. Lots of uncontested possessions point to giving the opposition too much space, 8 goals from 8 entries indicative of poor defending, lots of easy exits from our forward half highlight little pressure etc etc.

Yes, interesting indeed that he did not revert to instinct and roll back players as he calls it preferring to see how we handled things under siege - which he notes we did not. Experimentation under pressure.

Plenty of ammunition for a big week on the track and I expect some changes. Deboer read the play today with his 14 tackles.

When your opponent kicks 8 goals in a quarter you don't really have the option to drop blokes back in defense at that stage. We needed to kick goals to win it and couldn't manage to do so.

He was talking about earlier, say after the first three. He backed the team to respond.

I listened to the Lyon interview on sen and must say I thoroughly enjoyed it. He was most gracious in defeat , crediting RFC for their performance. Master of the understatement, my fav was when he said , I guess when they i50 8 x for 8 goals they're going alright.
Looking forward to the next contest with you guys I'm sure it will be a battle Royale next time , and please resume normal transmission I want you to beat everyone else

Just listening to these hacks on the radio and TV who are accusing Freo supporters of booing Matthew Pavlich. What they don't tell you though is that this was based on what was heard through the effects microphone, of which one is positioned near the opposition supporters section in order to bolster the reaction to opposition goals.

I sit on the wing and can honestly say that no one was booing Matthew Pavlich other than the Richmond supporters at the city end of the ground. Pav did get a Bronx cheer from sections of the crowd when he finally held a mark, but that was more a cry of relief as many were yelling out ""about time Pav" as well.

This happened to Sandi last year and Kepler the year before and it's just the crowd being frustrated rather than disrespectful.

Peter Sumich used to receive death threats in the mail after poor games, whilst Fraser Gehrig was run out town by feral Eagles supporters who hated him. They even forced Tom Swift into retirement through constant verbal abuse over the fence.

A bit of perspective please.

I agree... I was at the game and didn't hear any bronx cheering so not sure where this is coming from. Mind you it was hard to hear over the feral richmond supporters near us in the city end....definitely need to move when the new stadium opens up.

Agree, good old Basil has said if true we are a disgrace. Sometimes people have a howler and Pav had a howler and yes the crowd did go up (a bit) with a "at last" when he took his first mark - make no mistake media hacks - we love the Pav.

Won't he be at Gold Coast for the Suns match? Just take a little detour on the way home. But yes, he could still be having a chat with the Carlton mob.
The players woll have three or four days off aftrr the Gold Coast game. Some will go home for a few days. I gather Ross will head to Melbourne for a few days too. The media will take this opportunity to put him on the shows. The players and coaches will probably be due back at the club on Thursday or Friday.
