Can we get a confirmation that Beams disapeared from all Collingwood related instagram pictures late last season? Lets see if this theory has legs!

In the recent Lions site video; Leppa mentioned 5 spots are up for grabs for rd. 1 (currently). For mine, the 17 locks (if fit) are:
Rockliff, D.Beams, Zorko, Redden, Rich, Christensen, Green, Adcock, Leuey, Martin, Clarke, Mayes, Merrett, Robinson, Aish, Taylor & Gardiner.
The remaining 5 will likely be out of: Staker, Close, Maguire, Bewick, C.Beams, Paparone, McStay, Lester, Paine and Golby.
Decent depth emerging
Good list Panthera. I see Close as a lock, based purely on structural grounds as we need a key fwd type to kick at and Merrett is thankfully back at FB. But when I look at the 17 locks you have listed I can't take anyone out.
Whilst I think Adcock is a lock for rd 1 for experience and settled line up etc, I'd be quite pleased if he was getting squeezed out by the end of the year by better options (offensively) like C Beams, McStay (although I think he's more likely forward), Golby (if he recaptures his best form) etc
I'd agree but if he sees a form slump, he'd be dropped if the NEAFL guys (one of Staker, Paine or Mcguane) were playing well. I don't think anybody of our first-2nd year players are locks as sometimes going back to the NEAFL can be a blessing for recapturing form. Just my two cents.

Thought him and Sam Mayes were friends before they were drafted? Havent seen them hang out much.
Totally agree. I meant that he was a lock for rd 1 (as in, he gets first crack at that role) but depending on form he could easily make way for Staker or Paine in later rounds.
Lucky Close is a third year player then

Would you be equally as happy if Adcock was keeping players out of the side based on his performance? I don't understand this desire to deathride Jed.
I almost had a massive crack at this post until I looked at your usernameHes not our captain no mow, he got no ryte to be in da team.

Absolutely. But to do that, he needs to offer more offensively than he has in the past. We're critical of midfielders that don't "run both ways" and imho it ought to be the same for defenders - they need to not only defend your man but offer something (run & carry, set up the play with a kick that opens up the ground etc) to help transition into attack. I don't feel that Adcock does enough of that, but I'd be delighted if he could add that string to his bow. If not, then I feel one of the aforementioned players who seem to have that instinct would be a better option.
I'm pretty sure that Jed is right up there for r50s and even i50s in regards to team stats. If we were low on drive from 5he back half, it certainly wasn't because of him
This. People shouldn't let perception become reality.
This guyWhich Brisbane Lions defender kicked the most goals from the back line in 2014?!?
