Why all of a sudden will he increase avg by 10...??

I've always thought if there was an area Boak could improve in in order to become a Top 8 midfielder in SC, it was his tackling. His tackling averages over the last 3 years have been 3.8, 4.2 and 3.7. Early on in his career he averaged 6 tackles over a season, but that was the only time he ever averaged more than 5 tackles in his whole career.

I know NAB Challenge doesn't count for much, but generally players will save themselves and go easy on the hard stuff (like tackling). Boak in his 2 NAB Challenge games laid 5 (in 74% GT) and 10 tackles (82%) which perhaps may be a sign of things to come in season.

Add to this the fact that Gray will attract more attention from the opposition, which may mean Boak isn't seen as Port Adelaides most damaging player anymore.

I haven't picked Boak (yet), but I'm hugely tempted at the moment. I was keen on him early on in the pre-season but was put off by the fact he'd have to face Crowley who kept him to 97 and 92 SC points last season. Now that Crowley isn't going to be there Round 1, there's no reason Boak can't start the season off well and continue his form over a season where Port Adelaide will be dominant.

Also, his ceiling is as heigh as any other midfielder IMO. Scores of 156, 157, 153, 162 and 152 over last season show he can go huge. Obviously, this means these scores were balanced out by some inconsistent sub 70 scores. If he can add some consistency and limit the amount of sub 70 games he has, he'll go 115+.

Appreciate the thoughtful response, but I could say things like this for 20 mids.

Yeah absolutely, a case could be made for any player in the competition (some more than others). That's supercoach for you though. In the end you take a bunch of stats, gut feelings and educated guesses and form a team that you hope ends up justifying your selection.

Correct weight.

This approach works well for overall.
In a league context though the intention is to obtain the best/highest scoring team per round for finals. This is where the value approach is necessary to maximise initial teams and to generate cash, even if it means dropping ppg in the short term.

idk, i go through each premo in each line and give them a max price min price- my opinion.
i do boot from the list players who i believe are injury magnets.
but once that initial boot is done, its all value.

more points per game and over 20 games. i will get a better total.
math.

i do end up with less super prems. as i believe im more strict on over pricing (ablett captain obvious exception)

example.
selwood 580k 660k - 649k
boak 580k 630k - 568k

Rich Vs Wallis
At the the moment running with Pendels & Rich.....
If I go the other way..... I can upgrade from Will tooo Goldy !

Just sitting here and contemplating is it worth going 6 mid premo/future deep and having Nic Nat and tom Bedchamber?

Wouldnt touch Rich or Wallis to be honest

Don't think you can go wrong with either Pendles or Beams

I'm moving away from both Beams and Rocky as I think as seen in the last NAB cup game that they may take each others possies...just a thought...

Beams' possession count really didn't deviate at all from his Collingwood output, I think he even started winning more contested possessions. Rockliff is the one who will suffer as a result of the injection of an actual midfield around him.

Beams could find the ball playing in any team. I think he will outscore Rockliff or they will be very close. Certainly not worth the extra $90k or whatever it is. I think they will finish the year at around the same price, hopefully mid 650's for Beam's sake!

I read somewhere (I think it was a Facebook supercoach page, but it was a quote) yesterday that Fyfe said he was going play a bit more forward this year. Anyone able to confirm or shed any light on it?
