Sinclair just needs to up his possession count. If he could touch it 20 times a game he will be an absolute weapon...

Another club had Lonie in their top 20 pre-draft....
Had it not been for his height deficiency all clubs would have had him top 20 pre-draft!

Jack Sinclair has one of the best haircuts in football. There's a haircut you could set your watch to.

Would we trade wright? Would he have any currency?
I'm sure they will come asking about our youngsters...

Hickey (Top 10 pick), Wright, Murdoch, Saunders, Siposs, White (all Top 25 Pick), Lee, Curren, Minch & Markworth (all Top 35 Pick or a player - more likely) all gettable for the right price;). If you don't want to pay the price...see you later!!

everyone else is either off the table or undesirable/unsuitable for trade.

Luckily, I believe we aren't desperate to move any of these guys on atm. We won't make massive changes this year and have 2 retirees + the Head to be delisted already. We can also play around with our Rookie list.

Have done the ladder predictor, I'm thinking Gold Coast and Essendon overtake us (Essendon can't be that bad can they?) so we get pick 4, which is probably the best mid fielder.

This is based on us only beating Melbourne on the way home, not sure about beating GWS this week.

Thought we had GC in Melbourne on the way home but we don't.

Would like to know the the thoughts of others regarding our finishing position.
Given the fact that we are on an upward trajectory, are clearly playing and picking a team to win and are only just starting to click, now that we've finally got our best sort of team on the park for the first time in a couple of years, I'd be gobsmacked if we only won say one more and wouldn't be particularly surprised if we won 3 or 4 more. The wheels would have to pretty much completely fall off for us to not win one more, or to finish 1-8 from here. Just don't see it happening at all. We are not a bottom 4 team any more and are getting better by the month and have a number of games against other teams that are not in the top 8 at present.

The team we've got out on the park at present is very capable and pretty well balanced and not that young any more (10 who have played over 100 games, including 6 who have played 195 or more and another couple with over 75) and believing you can win is half the battle, so with each win they'll be gaining more belief and the older ones will start to slip back into that I-believe-we-can-win mode that they were in for a long time under Lyon and they'll drag the younger ones into that mode with them.

Sitting up on level 3 for last week's game v WB it was like I'd gone back to 2009 in a time machine just with the way we pretty much locked them in our forward half for most of that first half, but we just didn't have the polish to make it show on the scoreboard. We gained that polish on the weekend though (and we had it from the start, when Essendon were still the team that really pushed Hawthorn for a long time the week before) and if we're able to keep that polish and the pressure up for most of the rest of the year, to go with our "play it to the last minute" attitude, then there might not be to many games we'll go into not believing we're a strong chance of winning.

I'd definitely see what's out there but I don't think he'd get us anything. Probably third rounder at the absolute best.

The more wins we get the more convinced I'm becoming we will get a gun young player from another club.. Ala bulldogs with Boyd last year... We are becoming an attractive option for those types and I think our age demographic helps us given how close our young group appears to be

Should Holmes be upgraded this year? It is apparent he is well in front of Pierce and as Finnis suggested recently he would have played senior football if not for the rookie restrictions. Perhaps they should trade or move Pierce back to the rookies to all Holmes to move up?

The lack of flexibility with the rookie list is an glaring issue for AFL in my opinion! Clubs should have the flexibility to be able to move players back and forth from the rookie list as they require. It wouldnt mean that contracts terms eg money have to be effected as it falls on the club to manage their own TPP. Perhaps even as AR has suggested to do away with Rookie List altogether?

If a club inquires about Wright I don't think it would just be a third rounder, more likely put in our 4th rounder and get their 2nd, something along those lines.

Don't forget, Lewie is very young...His birthday is 16/11/1994 (20 y.o.) He has time on his side IMO. Could very well be demoted for a year or 2.

His kickings no worse than Gears, who he'll most likely take over from eventually.

The thing that needs to be looked at is does the coaching staff believe Wright is good enough to play in a top 4 team in a cpl of years? Do you trust him with footy in hand in a close final? I never like questioning inexperienced youngsters but I have real doubts over Wright. I honestly hope he proves me wrong.

I think Wright has enough going for him to be persevered with. Great intensity, line-breaking pace, strong overhead and will be quite versatile in the future. The one and only thing holding him back right now is disposal, but given the speed at which he is usually running when kicking along with the fact that he hasn't had much time to adjust to the pace of AFL footy I think he should be given time to sort that out. Along with McKenzie and Webster, I think he could be part of an awesome squad of medium defenders who can push into the midfield and do some serious damage with their pace and run. Don't forget that he has missed quite a lot of footy through injuries and is still only 21.

I'd like to see Wright have a massive pre season building his tank and play some games in 2016 through the middle. He is capable of hitting the contest at pace and storming out with the footy Judd/Dangerfield style. I don't expect him to become as good as those guys but he could be a player that we can rotate through the middle to win a few crucial, decisive clearances.

We desperately need quality tall defenders... We have Goddard coming through.. But i fear for Delany if those 2 retire and he has to shoulder the load down there.
Roberton is a good defender but im sure the team would rather let him loose.
All weve got back there is Goddard and Delany. We need another 2 tall defenders fast.. As in this year cause if not all this talk about shooting up the ladder in the next couple years is a waste of time when Fisher and Dempstet retire... cant underestimate the impact dempster has on our defence. Hard to replace.

Hawthorn showed these can be traded for... gibson...lake. I think we target mids. Then a defender or two with our later picks/rookie draft. I do agree we need depth. But hey if the final piece is another defender then great! I was also thinking that with the right plan. Defensive team work is more important than defensive superstars. In other words Goddard at potential with delaney webster geary and roberton is enought to get it done. Sure i hope we get a skinner or trade for a hooker etc. We could even FA Chaplin.

God we over rate our players, If the Saints gave up a top 25 pick for a player of the same standard I would be p1ssed off. White , Siposs and Murdoch 4th round pick if we were lucky

I'd try and trade for one and then draft or rookie one, but if the price wasn't right, wait for a gun to come OOC next year and still draft one this year late, preferably Skinner.

That's what it would take for us to trade, not what they are worth!!

We did give up a top 25 pick for Wright & White

It was an incredible draft effort. I was happy with Paddy and Goddard and the rest were just meant to be some list fillers. I was disappointed with missing out on Caleb Daniel with the Lonie pick but I wouldn't have imagined how good he would get so quickly. We went to the intra club and met this hobbling little man who looked as if my 10 year old son could take down in a tackle and I was seriously worried. Mc Kenzie I thought they got the first names mixed up and we wanted Rhys. Sinclair had such a baby face you hoped he wouldn't get hurt. Who ever is identifying talent smashed it last year.
There was talk of taking Daniel as first pick in the rookie draft .Imagine if you had tto chose between him and sinclair ?

I still haven't given up on Lee as a defender and feel like he will surprise a few. Elite kick, give him another preseason and if he doesn't have any setbacks with his shoulders then we could look forward to him coming out of his shell and cementing a spot in our best 22 post Shinners/Chips.

Del, Goddard, Robbo, Lee - could do worse and all offer something different. Add one more through the next couple of drafts/trade periods and suddenly it doesn't look so dire imo.
