List Mgmt. 2016 AFL Draft

Knightmares phantom released and had us taking Marshall at 12 and Ryan at 34.

a key forward at 12 is not happening if we add Jake waterman and ryan at 34 is overs. We always risk our second pick so I can see this happening.

At 12 being likely 14 the club will be remiss not to take the highest ranking KP forward in the draft.

Remember Richmond choosing Tambling over Buddy and Roughead?

We bet on Duggan, Nelson, Partington, Karpany, Redden, Jetta , Yeo and Sheed to give us more in 2017 than we got out of them in 2016. Not to mention Cole and Mutimer who are also half backs / mids.

Plus Mitchell will play 1 maybe 2 years.

Yes I can see it happening. But next years draft is stronger on KP talent, so why not wait until there.

Remember Andrew McDougall?

I'd rather we just take best available.

This draft also doesn't appear to have much in the way of talls and the best two being English (ruck) and Logue (KPD) are tipped to be gone by our pick. Leaves Marshall as the best tall potentially available by the time we get a crack and I'd prefer we didn't pick him on the basis of being the best KPF but because we consider him to be the best footballer. If there's someone better take that kid

Fair, but if we take Marshall and waterman, then its highly likely we add nothing to our midfield, which is wrong.

Mitchell, Duggan, Redden, Jetta, Nelson, Karpany, Partington and Sheed didn't contribute much or anything in 2016.

Yeo needs to step up.

Masten will be playing for his spot.

It takes time for young mids to make an impact.

In 2017 as a minimum our midfield will improve with Mitchell, Nelson, Duggan, Redden plus Jetta.

The real question is who will get dropped?

Marshall for me is a pick 20 plus talent hasnt really produced much at all.
Spoke to someone today at wce who said had seen Shai Bolton and SPP at the club recently.
But more of SPP than anyone else.
I won't be surprised in the slightest if we call out the pepper shaker with our first pick

Will be really interesting to see what we do if English slides. Rucks generally slide so we may have a decision on our hands. I'd like a small but English looks pretty impressive.

Would love Bolton or SPP. Both could make an impact straight away next season.

Imagine if all of Duggan, Mitchell, Redden, Jetta, SPP/Bolton had an impact from Round 1 - would take us to the next level.

Naitanui back for last third of the season - look out!

I think that Brennan Cox is the third best tall in this years draft, he plays both ends and reads the ball so well in flight.
I think Marshall might just be a "bust", it would have been nice to have seen a bigger body of work from him however he hasn't played a lot of football over the last two years. Marshall does some nice things and I do get the appeal however he simply doesn't do it often enough or with any consistency to get me excited. He would be a massive reach at 12 IMO.

I don't want Marshall at 12 simply because he isn't the best player at that point in the draft and he isn't even close to being best available.
If we are "hell bent" of picking a KPF at that juncture in the draft I would rate Battle as a safer pick, things happen when Battle is around the ball, having said that I rate Battle in the 22-28 range and I rate him higher than Marshall.

There will be some quality available with our first pick and I agree with Keyser Soze ..... take best available.

Me neither I think at 12 he is a slight reach , but one worth contemplating as he brings to the side several elements that we are sadly lacking in general.
Intensity, brake neck speed , pack bursting attack at the contest..... oh and the don't argue.... he seems an angry bastard and he appears to dislike being beaten ...he has a winners mentality and thats a point of difference... Jackson Nelson has it as well and the sooner we get more players in the team who give a F*** about winning the better for me.

We have wanted a bigger bodied, full on attacking mid for some time now and "The Shaker" is that .
It amuses me when so many criticise him for his foot skills and yet many of these same critics simply fail to mention that both Fyfe and Dangerfield hardly feature in the list of players with best foot skills.
"The Shaker" has enough :plus::plus::plus: to his game for me to readily accept him as a good pick up at # 12.

In the unlikely event that Taranto or Schrimshaw are available at 12 then I could happily accept "The Shaker" at 12.

Simply put I do like the cut of The Shakers Jib.

As much as I said best available it seems to me it's going to be a fairly fluid concept come our pick and a case could be made for any number of players to be considered best available.

Clear as ****ing mud if you ask me

Just out of curiosity ROYAL EAGLE is there anyone in this years draft cohort that you would be happy for West Coast to pick up that doesn't live in a suburb that has a Post Code starting with a 6. ;)

Would love Taranto if he slide to us.
Just with our pick of 12 i personally rate the WA boys around that selection than others available.
I dont rate Marshall.
And Scrimshaw i dont believe will develop as a mid at all and dont see the Bont comparison.English dont want as his rucking skills are shite at the moment and he is a long term prospect and would rather someone that can play now.
Shai Bolton i have watched all year and he just got better as the season went on, he fills a need but he special talent (think Rioli)
SPP i rate similar to Taranto and better than Venables.
Berry i see as a half back flanker with good leadership skills he is not a mid.
Griffin logue would be happy with if he can be developed as a mid.
Oliver Florent i rate Shai Bolton similar player with Shai being a better talent.

If you look at my comments last year i was advocating for Cockatoo, this year the WA talent is great.
Next year WA talent is non existent unless something drastic changes, i will be advocating Vic boys.

As for later round talents not wa
Haymish Brayshaw
Willem Drew
Kim Lebois

Logue or GTFO
