If Kennedy or JD went down no draftee will fix that, they are too young. Vardy and McInness are insurance for 2017 injuries followed by Lamb.
People on here under rate McInness and his value IMO. I rate him similar to Hansen back in the 2000 > 2006 era, he's no star but pretty solid. The reason why McInness hasn't "come on" is because we have been blessed with Kennedy and Darling and few injuries. When Jack was injured for the first 8 rounds in 2015 McInness came in and offered good support for his age.
Lamb yes has shown little but if he got an opportunity it would be very interesting to see what he could provide.
Allen is the definition of project KP forward.
Somewhat agree with you on your first para. If JK goes down, we're rooted I think. JD I think we could possibly cover (obviously not expecting 40+ goals) but we have a few on our list that could possibly fill his role (Lamb and I think even Yeo is an option, Vardy to FF with JK playing more as a HF...We certainly have some options that you could see working).
Have to disagree on McInnes though so I think Vardy is our only real replacement for Kennedy, and why I'm seeing him as a very astute trade, and hoping for good luck on the injury front. Again, I won't be expecting 80 goals from him but he allows us to hold our structure at the very least. We certainly lose mobility up forward though.
McInnes may not have had the opportunities at AFL level due to our good fortune but he has hardly shown much, if anything, even at WAFL to suggest he is going to be able to come in and make a fist of it against the best defenders in the country. As a ruck....ugh. I don't see the Hansen comparison, sorry. Apart from their turning circle, as Godfather said. Hansen had pretty good hands, wasn't a bad kick for goals and worked tirelessly up and down the wings. I haven't seen much of that from McInnes. You have to love his size but I was disappointed in the way he used that size at the contests. Was largely a non factor in most contests.
