Judd did the same thing. He told his manager and the club of his intentions to return home but only after honouring his deal with WC.The Buckley example is perfect IMO. Wanted to play, went to Brissie but said he would be heading home from the start
Yeah it's a tricky one.Yeah I get that the draft is a cornerstone of equalisation and that kids trying to influence where they go undermines that but ....
If I'm a recruiter i'd probably like to know if a kid I'm about to use a valuable draft pick on is more or less likely to want to go home the first chance he gets. So I'm going to ask him if he thinks he'll stay past his first two year contract
I'm not sure where the answer to that question crosses the line into draft tampering but as a recruiter I'd prefer it to be an honest one

Apparently he told his manager, thats the word anyway. What about at recruitment time though?

Nah, it's the professor all the way for meNot a Kari Wuhrer fan?!

Mate, interesting drafting. Was surprised that Rotham was available at your pick and surprised you went with Cox. Very big lad, with good mitts and mobility. Kicking is not quite there yet, but saw he's kicked some bags for WWT so can definitely play both ends ala Shooter.
Personally sould have punted on Callum Brown - the more I see him, the more he reminds me of Ben Cousins... not sure what, but am a big fan of his ability to make time and step up to the moment.

Pretty weird perspective.Absolute trash, on a day when we remember men and women (many 18 years or younger) who went to the other side of the planet to fight wars for their countries freedom.
Puts it into perspective for me.
The current players get paid well, housed well and have access to all kinds of social media.
Many clubs allow them extra time in their home state after away games too.
They have it pretty good IMO.
Waterman is taller than Darling already at 18.Key forward?
I thought "the shaker" was SPS! Now I'm really confused.
Waterman is taller than Darling already at 18.
Waterman 189.9 at combine, Darling taller than that.
Listed at 191 I've read.
He a modern mobile KP forward not a small.
Thats the point.
Agree with that.
Apparently most players thought they tested shorter at combine than expected.
Comparing kids who would rather stay in their home state to play footy to other kids who went off to fight in stupid wars is pretty strange. Is it though?
I'm a hard campaigner. That's why I love McGinnity and can't stand that flog Jetta.Pretty weird perspective.
It's those kids that fought in stupid wars that allowed the current kids to even play footy let alone be privileged enough to play at the highest level, see the country and get paid well for it.Comparing kids who would rather stay in their home state to play footy to other kids who went off to fight in stupid wars is pretty strange.
