Surely Reid won't be still available for us to pick? Am I missing something here? If we get him I'll consider that a win but I thought he was likely going top 10??

Is it better or worse having 1 player who is s flight risk or a group of them?

As in do they whine to each other about wanting to go home constantly or do they manage to join together to a degree where the bond keeps them here?

He’s been a full time mid for 3 years and still hasn’t averaged over 19 touches in any season. He’s very good defensively obviously and for structure, but low production mids are exactly what everyone on here hasn’t wanted for the last 12 months.
Sure it’s not a complete bust if your pick 9 ends up at that level, but if offered the choice I’m taking the risk of getting a better player at that pick every day of the week.
Hence, bad outcome
He’s come 3rd and 5th in two grand final teams best and fairests, watch the games and not just a stats sheet.

So you are suggesting we trade back into the first round to get both Murphy and Taj?
Oooo GIF

He has mentioned aiming at a forward half pressure game where we force more turnovers closer to our goal. In the forward half in more dangerous parts of the ground.

The more forward half turnovers we can generate the more we will hurt the opposition.

To do that we need pace and manic pressure players in that forward half.

So we shouldn't be surprised if we draft some.
If that is the case lazy Liam Ryan getting the sack

Feel like the Reid association at pick 12 isn't that solid, best available and we've shown some interest.
If Olli is a training on I think Taj Hotton feels way more likely.

Van Es pretty good lock down defender too. But reckon better options in draft.

Hi guys, had the pleasure of shooting, editing and producing this video for James Barrat in conjunction with the Pioneers. Thought his story was particularly powerful and perhaps adds substance to him being my favourite draftee this year:

Really nice work

And a bloody good story

Would have no issues with him at our second pick and he’s a better list fit than Bowman

What went wrong with Olli Hotton? Was he just constantly injured?
First preseason with Saints he got stress fractures in his back, think he missed over half his first year.
Not too sure after that, looking at stats looks like he had an average year at VFL level. Kicked 5 in a game, but no goals in any other game.

Any reason we are wildly ignoring and pretending we wont draft Joe Berry

We just going to flat out ignore news we dont like and bury our heads in the sand?
My read of our Berry interest from us, is only a play to see if we can snuff out an extra pick in the 20s or future 2nd from port or freo. We then slide down 1 or two places and then take best available.
Hopefully Murphy Reid as that kid always has time when he has the ball and always finds a target. Don’t care if he is too slow as he makes up for it with IQ

Thanks, it was harder than it looked to shoot because Jimmy was looking right at me the whole interview (which went for about 25 minutes in total), including when he was recounting what happened to his mother. Thankfully I know Jimmy about as well as any of the boys, and he is comfortable enough with me. Otherwise I'm not sure how we would've gone.

Also, here's Archer's video that's just been uploaded to social media:

Great work - thanks for the insights. Nice to get the players a little outside of their usual ladsy social environment.

How many players can you name that have achieved such a feat?
There are a lot. Recovery from an ACL is at a much higher rate these days.

Petracca did his ACL in his first year at AFL level.

Ashcroft, Rayner and Hipwood have all recovered from recent ACL’s.

2 days and about 2h30 minutes until I can comment.

If it all plays out as it seems I would be a very happy man.
Hi Phil

I want to be excited by your optimism, but your last projection of optimism was gazumped by our recruitment teams ineptitude... resulting in the biggest outpouring of depression I've seen on Bigfooty. And that's saying something.

I hope your positive vibes are received by Clarke and Pyke.

After reading a few bios and watching a 3 min highlights video I'm firmly in the Just Take MReid club
noobermensch (with thanks) did a sensational package of his champs where he was the Vic Metro MVP. He’d be a very good get at 12 (15) IMO, decision making and skills are sublime, Pendleburyesque.

The video of Ough directly below it is coincidentally from his BOG performance vs Calder maverick001 and anyone else that’s interested if we can do a deal with Essendon.

After re-watching Reid's highlights I'd be very happy if we landed him.
I don't think he's as slow as often described.
Murphy Reid

A midfielder-forward who has speed to burn which allows him to burst away from congestion and use the ball with precision. Reads the game exceptionally well, is a prolific ball winner and creative and innovative when in congestion.
Was outstanding at the National Championships, averaging 24.5 disposals (9.2 contested), 3.2 clearances and 3.2 tackles across the four matches which included dominant displays against South Australia and the Allies. Was rewarded by winning Victoria Metro’s MVP award as well as All Australian honours. Was also a star at club level, averaging 21 disposals and kicking 14 goals in 10 matches for the Sandringham Dragons. Capped the year with his second Coates Talent League premiership and selection in the Team of the Year. Did not test at the Draft Combine due to knee injury.
He seems to be the slider that could last to our pick after Allen & Lindsay have been seemingly snatched from our grasp. While Smilie was floated as a possible slider with very little evidence.
The big danger is if noone drafts a key position player like Shanahan or Armstrong before our pick, meaning that Reid could be taken right before our pick.
