Obviously nankervis or someone tall was required. Hopefully hampson never plays again. Now Maric gets another year he might be good foil off the bench.

On that note with Graham's inclusion another year o development to our younger types hopefully grigg remains at Richmond Vfl too
I'm gonna say it! My tip is that Hampson plays more games in 2017 than Maric and Nankervis combined.
Not saying that Nankervis isn't a good pick up, but I think Hampson with a full preseason will have a career season.
Time will tell!

I agree with you mostly Baph re. Kirby. I'm reconciling myself with the fact that the 4 goal 4th quarter, against Sandy AND at Trevor Barker oval AND on debut at VFL level AND in dreadful conditions, already meant he was going in the draft.

But reading this article, did we do this one ourselves or it came down through AFL.com?

Maybe we could not have published that story, promised him a rookie spot and buried him for the the last game of the year...who knows
A sensible end to a discussion that was becoming intolerable!

Jarman just because of the bloodlines
delicious

Or was it Lambert doing star jumps, that caught his eye, that cost us the double chance?
My opinion is Lambert should never have even thought of calling for it, but conversely, Houli could have ignored?
It was terrible, but every kid from Auskick up is taught to kick to the BL if no easy target is available. I went home very drunk that day.

Didn't cost us the double chance as we were a game and percentage behind The Swans. The poor start of 2015 and being 2 and 4 did

Houli didn't cost us a double chance.

If they team had kicked straight the entire game, the kick wouldn't have mattered.

its a team game, results should never be blamed on an individual.

Yes it did. There was a post on here that proved it possible. I was at the time to xxxxed to think about it, but it was possible.
Freo had a lower percentage than us and would have dropped from first to fifth on 64 points with us moving to fourth. Nothing to do with Sydney.

Irrelevant as we were in front when he had the last kick for us.

Gold Coast needed a shock win in the last round against Sydney for us to get 4th. The damage was done first 6 weeks of the season, and you cannot blame it solely on Houli costing us a win being the reason we we missed the double chance. Also remember Freo tanked in the last game as they had secure the top 2 spot.

We win Freo finish fifth ,as I said nothing to do with Sydney.
Freo had an inferior percentage so Houli's kick out cost us a top four bc all that had happened in the season was irrelevant due to our percentage being five per cent higher

They lost a game they would have won with the full strength team so percentage does not come into it.

Port lost to Freo in Perth round one by 7 points and Freo went off on a flyer. Freo were vulnerable and went out in straight sets.
69 point loss does not equate to a five per cent drop in rd23.
The mystery is would they have beaten Port? I say no bc they were teetering on a knifes edge. They also lost both home finals.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing , but I would loved to have seen the outcome if we had won that game where Houli cocked up. We may have to agree to disagree
With this one, but it makes a good pub argument.

They made the preliminary, beat the Swans in the first week and lost narrow to the Hawks in the prelim. It was the Swans that were out in straight sets not Freo. Would have finished a game clear of us even if we had beaten them.
