Rhys Stanley still hasn't signed with Geelong. WA girlfriend, good mates with Kersten (coming home), Dawson and RTB familiar with him fro Saints days. Could be a raid at the Cattery coming very soon

I actually want to know which club , willing to convert freo pick 3 to two first round pick . Dont go all the process of suggestion in the end like the cat b thing , afl said freo not allow to do that base on different kind of rule or dont have any club willing to do that.

I think club GC who got lots of second round and early third will be more willing to trade their this year for freo first next year , even freo win the flag in 2017 , they still got pick 17 and their first round pick. if afl said freo cant do this deal freo still get to keep next year first rd pick
If you put the blow torch on me and said which side would offer 2 late 1st rounders for pick 3... I would say the swans and heres why...

Barring something out of the blue to happen, Swans will make the granny. So that is pick 17 or 18.

say if one of their vic midfielders want out like mitchell. They could get pick 12-15.

To them they would trade picks 15 and 18 for pick 3. Pick 3 is worth 2600 points. Picks 15 and 18 might be worth 2000 points all up.

If Freo do trade their 2017 second rounder this year for mccarthy and we finish in the bottom 6, i am happy to do what west coast did with their pick 6 in 2013.

In 2013, west coast traded picks 6 and 44, their 1st and 3rd rounder for collingwoods picks of 11, 29 and 47. That was essentially collingwoods 1st, 2nd and 3rd rounder.

15 and 18 might not get what freo want . Need at least one top 10.

Pick three is to valuable. 15/18 picks are in the maybe category.

I am not saying we should do that trade. I am saying what the swans might try to do to offer for it.

I for one wouldnt do it. I would not trade a top 5 pick either unless we get a top 10 in return either meima

If GC are loaded up with 2016 picks after trading Omeara & Prestia, I reckon we should trade for one.

Say Freo trades 2017 1st rounder for GC pick 9? Gives us a chance at 2 of SPS/Marshall/Rotham/English.

Providing we improve as we expect, our pick next year should be between 7-11 you'd think, so not too much risk.

Next years draft said to be very strong in all of the ground and this year draft is poor in terms of talls but strong in mids.

Most likely to get a talented big man next year.

Again... if 2017 is going to be a deep draft, and Freo finish bottom 6 i am happy doing a west coast of 2013.

Again, I am happy to trade pick 6 and 44 for picks 11, 29 and 47.

we lose a top 6 pick but 3 have a mid 1st and mid 2nd rounder.

But this year there are 2 big boys from WA who are perfect for our needs in English and Rotham. Next year that does not seem to be the case.

It also makes sense to not go early on mids this year if indeed there is depth. The value may well be in going tall when you can as there will be decent midfielders available mid-draft.

I would be very happy to get Stanley as I have always rated him. Has taken a while to develop but would be an excellent like for like Ruck/forward replacement to Clarke for next year and become #1 ruck in 2018. Kersten gets mixed reviews but even if we get McCarthy we have no backup for 2 tall forwards (Apeness/Taberner) now Pav is retired (McCarthy 3rd tall). If we get McCarthy, Stanley and Kersten, keep pick 3 and put off getting B. Hill till next year while losing Barlow, Clarke etc. for whatever we can get then it would be a good trading period and fill a lot of holes.

I would also look into seeing if Kersten could go back if needed. He might find a niche there as well.

Do freo lost something or get push down in draft pick for getting Kersten if yes then maybe PSd is the go . No easy bargain in afl apart from take some risk in draft pick ( walters and neale). I dont see kersten will improve freo forward line significantly .

1 - cam mac
2 - get back second rd pick
3 - put some solid training back in pre season.

Rotham is a third tall or tall midfielder. No capacity to play bigger.

English is a young ruck who can run and kick, remember Fraser and Kruezer. They both were solid but not worth it. Not a lot of Rucks in the first round has been worth it.

The ruck can be easier fixed by trading in young rucks from other clubs who aren't getting a game without giving up much eg Maric, Jacobs, Mumford, Longer, Z Smith, Stanley, Hampson, Martin, Hickey, McEvoy

Also, Sandilands and Cox were rookie listed players, and the following were pick at: Goldstein (37), Lobb (29),and Gawn (34). Sure, Nick Nat went at 2 and Grundy went at 18, but they broke even.

I would be looking at Toby Nankervis and Tom Nicholls or even Witts and Stanley.

I don't really think we will be putting off B Hill for another year, he ticks the main box that Lyon has stated numerous times...he is a WA boy who wants to come home to play. For all those that don't rate him have we also considered the tangible benefit that it might bring to S. Hill's game to be playing with his brother.

Well if he come he come , dont come i not going to cry over it. I more concerned freo getting their star players injuries free with calf and hamstring and improve the current young players . With lyon putting four year time frame basically time will be putting on develop youth next year.

Taberner, Apeness and McCarthy seem like a soild tall forward. Adding Kersten would make the forward line a bit top heavy. Our class will come from our smalls and if our bigs can provide a contest in the air plus long leads, that will be enough.

Plus Alex Pearce did well playing forward.

Yup agree , if freo dont fixed develop players now and always hoping or depend on some players develop from other club ,basically freo got recruiting and developing problem .

What is developing ?
Turning players like grey, nyhuis and uebergang into afl player .
Providing game time for new draftee game time playing against wafl side and promote them when they perform .

A couple of things, Rotham could develop into a KPD. It's a big call to say that he has no capacity to play tall. And Kruezer is elite, he's been cruelled by injuries.
